1953 - Paul DeGalles and Tarzan Potvin defeat Bronko Lubich and Bud Rattal for
the vacant Northwest Tag Team Title in Vancouver, British Columbia.
1957 - Michiaki Yoshimura defeats Mitsuo Surugaumi for the Japanese Junior
Heavyweight Title in Osaka, Japan.
1957 - Rito Romero defeats Danny McShain to win the NWA Texas Junior Heavyweight
Title in Fort Worth, Texas, to begin his second reign.
1957 - Danny Plechas defeats Juan Garcia for the Rocky Mountain Heavyweight
Title in Albuquerque, New Mexico, ending Garcia's fourth reign.
1960 - Torbellion Blanco defeats Pete Managoff in Houston, Texas for the NWA
Texas Heavyweight Title.
1964 - Neff Maivia defeats Hard Boiled Haggerty to win the NWA Hawaii
Heavyweight Title in Honolulu, Hawaii, beginning his fourth reign.
1966 - Al Costello defeats Alex Perez to win the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight
Title in Nashville, Tennessee, ending Perez's third reign.
1967 - Pepper Gomez and Pedro Morales defeat Pat Patterson and Ray Stevens for
the American Wrestling Alliance World Tag Team Title in San Francisco,
California, ending Patterson and Stevens' second reign.
1970 - Pantera Negra and Tony Rocco defeat Karl Heisinger and Kinji Shibuya for
the NWA Americas Tag Team Title in Los Angeles, California.
1971 - Bobby Duncum and Woody Farmer defeat The Beast and Bulldog Brower to win
the NWA Western States Tag Team Title in Amarillo, Texas.
1972 - Buddy Colt defeats El Mongol for the NWA Georgia Heavyweight Title in
Griffin, Georgia. This began Colt's fourth reign and ended Mongol's eighth.
1972 - Kinji Shibuya wins his third NWA Beat the Champ Television Title,
defeating Don Carson.
1976 - The Mighty Canadian (Gene Kiniski) defeats The Super Destroyer to win the
Amarillo NWA International Heavyweight Title in Amarillo, Texas, ending
Destroyer's second reign.
1978 - Ox Baker defeats Carlos Colón to win the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight
Title in Caguas, Puerto Rico. At the same event, Invader I wins his second WWC
Caribbean Heavyweight Title from Pierre Martel.
1979 - Greg Valentine defeats Dino Bravo for the Toronto NWA Canadian
Heavyweight Title in Toronto, Ontario.
1979 - Astro Rey defeats Dos Caras to win the Mexican National Light Heavyweight
Title in Mexico City, Mexico.
1981 - Dory Funk, Jr. wins his second NWA Florida Heavyweight Title in Tampa,
Florida, from Barry Windham.
1982 - Mark Romero (Youngblood) defeats Gene Lewis for the NWA Central States
Television Title in Kansas City, Kansas, ending Lewis' second reign.
1984 - The WWF held an event at Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland. The
results were:
- Velvet McIntyre and Princess Victoria defeated Peggy Lee and Wendi Richter.
- Special Delivery Jones defeated Charlie Fulton.
- Brian Blair defeated José Luis Rivera.
- Tony Garea and René Goulet fought to a draw.
- WWF Tag Team Champions Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson defeated The Wild Samoans
(Afa and Sika).
- Bob Backlund and Greg Valentine fought to a double-disqualification.
- The Iron Sheik defeated Sgt. Slaughter by referee stoppage due to blood.
1986 - Jerry Lawler defeats Bill Dundee to win the AWA Southern Heavyweight
Title in Memphis, Tennessee. This ended Dundee's ninth reign and began Lawler's
37th reign.
1988 - John Tatum and Jack Victory defeat Shaun and Steve Simpson for the World
Class Texas Tag Team Title in Fort Worth, Texas, beginning their third reign.
1989 - Chris Benoit and Biff Wellington defeat Makhan Singh (Mike Shaw) and
Vokkan Singh (Gary Albright) in Calgary, Alberta to win the Stampede
International Tag Team Title.
1990 - Larry Zbyszko defeats Mr. (Masa) Saito in St. Paul, Minnesota to win the
AWA World Heavyweight Title for the second time.
1991 - The Lightning Kid wins his second Pro Wrestling America Light Heavyweight
Title in Fridley, Minnesota, ending Jerry Lynn's second reign.
1995 - Eddie Guerrero defeats 2 Cold Scorpio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for
the ECW World Television Title, ending Scorpio's second reign.
1995 - Buddy Landel defeats Bobby Blaze to win the SMW Heavyweight Title in
Johnson City, Tennessee.
1995 - Shannon Moore has his first match, against Jeff Hardy.
1996 - WWF Monday Night RAW aired unopposed on USA Network, as WCW Monday Nitro
did not air on TNT this week. This showed in the ratings, as RAW got a 4.7, up
from the previous week's 2.9 and the next week's 3.1, which were opposed weeks.
RAW was taped on April 1 at the Orange Pavilion in San Bernardino, California.
This was also the first episode of RAW to go on the air at 8:57pm. The results
were:
- Ahmed Johnson defeated The British Bulldog in an arm wrestling match.
- Vader defeated Yokozuna by referee stoppage, after Vader gave Yokozuna a Vader
Bomb on one of his legs. After the match, Yoko was unable to make his way out of
the arena under his own power, so he was taken from the ring and out of the
arena on a forklift.
- Hunter Hearst Helmsley pinned Duke Droese.
- WWF Champion Shawn Michaels (with José Lothario) pinned Jerry Lawler after
the Sweet Chin Music to retain the title.
1997 - Hikari Fukuoka defeats Dynamite Kansai to win the JWP Openweight Division
Title in Tokyo, Japan, ending Kansai's second reign.
1999 - Headbanger Mosh defeats Romeo Valentino for the Maryland Championship
Wrestling Heavyweight Title in Dundalk, Maryland, ending Valentino's second
reign.
2000 - Yoshihiro Tajiri defeats Little Guido and champion Super Crazy in a
three-way dance in Buffalo, New York to win the ECW World Television Title.
2000 - Bouncer Bruno and Dutch Mantel defeat Black Boy and José Rivera, Jr. for
the WWC World Tag Team Title in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
2000 - Kevin Northcutt wins the NWA Texas Heavyweight Title for the third time,
defeating Cedric of Hollywood in Galveston, Texas.
2000 - Wolfie D defeats Ali for the Power Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title in
Memphis, Tennessee.
2000 - Moondog Manson defeats Ladies' Choice to win the ECCW Hardcore Title in
Kelowna, British Columbia, beginning his second reign.
2000 - Michiko Omukai and Mima Shimoda defeat Aja Kong and Mariko Yoshida to win
the Twin Star of ARSION Title in Kawasaki, Japan.
2000 - Naughty By Nature (Rude and Tully) defeat The Rebellion (Kilo and Tommy
Redneck) in Drestin, Tennessee for the NWA Mid-South Tag Team Title, beginning
their fourth reign.
2002 - The WWF held a live RAW and taped the April 14 Sunday Night Heat at
America West Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. RAW got a 4.8 rating on TNN. The
results:
Heat:
- The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt) defeated Justin Credible and Steven Richards
after the Twist of Fate and Swanton.
- Goldust defeated Shawn Stasiak by submission with a cobra clutch.
- Crash Holly pinned Jacqueline with his feet on the ropes.
- Bradshaw pinned The Big Bossman after the Clothesline from Hell.
RAW:
- WWF Hardcore Champion Bubba Ray Dudley pinned Goldust after a powerbomb
through a table to retain the title. Booker T was originally to face Bubba Ray,
but Goldust interfered, which was allowed due to the title's 24/7 rule.
- X-Pac pinned Kane in a falls count anywhere match after Scott Hall and Kevin
Nash interfered backstage.
- Spike Dudley pinned WWF European Champion William Regal to win the title after
hitting Regal with brass knuckles that Regal had hidden in a turnbuckle pad.
This ended Regal's third reign.
- The Undertaker pinned WWF Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam after the Last
Ride after Eddie Guerrero ran in and hit RVD with his own title belt. With the
win, Undertaker became one-half of a WWF Undisputed Title #1 contender's match
at April 21's Backlash.
- Molly Holly pinned Trish Stratus with a leg roll-up after Jazz ran in and hit
Trish with her title belt.
- Big Show pinned Mr. Perfect after the chokeslam.
- Steve Austin pinned Scott Hall (with X-Pac) after the Stone Cold Stunner,
after Bradshaw, X-Pac, the Undertaker, and Ric Flair interfered. With the win,
Austin also went into the #1 contender's match at Backlash.
2003 - WWE taped the April 10 SmackDown! and April 12 Velocity at Allstate Arena
in Chicago, Illinois. SmackDown! got a 3.2 rating on UPN and Velocity got a 1.1
on TNN. The results were:
Dark matches:
- Sean O'Haire defeated ???.
- Chris Kanyon defeated Tyson Dux.
Velocity:
- A-Train defeated Chad Collyer.
- Tajiri defeated Shannon Moore.
- The F.B.I. (Nunzio, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli) defeated Funaki and Los
Guerreros (Chavo and Eddie).
SmackDown!:
- WWE Champion Brock Lesnar pinned WWE Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy (with
Shannon Moore) after the F5.
- Brian Kendrick and Torrie Wilson defeated Jamie Noble and Nidia, when Torrie
pinned Nidia after a DDT.
- Chris Benoit pinned Rhyno with a backslide in a WWE Title #1 contender's
tournament semifinal match.
- Rey Mysterio and Tajiri defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Team Angle (Shelton
Benjamin and Charlie Haas), when Mysterio pinned Haas after a springboard
legdrop.
- Nathan Jones, making his WWE in-ring debut, pinned Bill DeMott after a kick to
the head.
- In the other WWE Title #1 contender's tournament semifinal match, John Cena
pinned The Undertaker after the F.B.I. interfered and hitting Undertaker with a
chair several times.
- The show also included the first Piper's Pit to be held since WrestleMania V,
with the guest being Vince McMahon. The segment was interrupted by Rikishi, who
came to the ring with a coconut and tried to hit Piper with it, as payback for
Piper hitting Jimmy Snuka with a coconut on a 1984 edition of Piper's Pit.
Before Rikishi could do so, he was attacked by Piper's "protégé"
Sean O'Haire, with Piper hitting Rikishi with the coconut. This was Piper's
first appearance in WWE since his WrestleMania XII match with Goldust in 1996.
2005 - Blaze defeats Void for the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Title in
Humboldt, Tennessee, ending Void's third reign.
2006 - Brodie Lee defeats Glenn Spectre to win the NWA Upstate Heavyweight Title
in Rochester, New York.
2006 - Scotty Beach wins the Great Championship Wrestling Television Title from
Chris Stevens in Columbus, Georgia, ending Stevens' second reign.
2006 - Remix defeats Devious Danny in Ocoee, Florida to win the NWA South
Atlantic X Division Title. At the same event, Roadblock Rex and Bobby Smith
defeat Nooie Lee and Rouge for the vacant NWA South Atlantic Tag Team Title.
2007 - Jonny Storm defeats Robbie Brookside for the XWA British Heavyweight
Title in Morecambe, England.
