1972 - Boris Malenko & Bob Roop defeat Bobby Shane & Bearcat Wright to win the NWA Florida Tag Team Title in Tampa, Florida.
1988 - Jerry "The King" Lawler defeats Curt Hennig for the AWA World Heavyweight Title, finally ending his career long quest to become a World Heavyweight Champion. Lawler had vowed to retire if he couldn't win the title, and the mayor of Memphis declared it "Jerry Lawler Day" in honor of the title match, which was held in the Mid South Coliseum. Memphis legend Jackie Fargo was the special referee for the match, which Lawler won after catapulting Hennig into a corner and Hennig hitting headfirst on the ringpost.
1993 - Smoky Mountain Wrestling held their Volunteer Slam II event, "Rage In A Cage" in Knoxville, Tennessee at the City Coliseum. Here are the results:
- Robert Gibson defeated The Tazmaniac (Tazz).
- Killer Kyle defeated Robert Fuller via DQ.
- Brian Lee defeated Stan Lane.
- Kevin Sullivan defeated Jimmy Golden.
- Tom Pritchard defeated Ricky Morton.
- SMW Heavyweight Champion Tracey Smothers defeated Tony Anthony in a Coward Waves The Flag match.
- The Rock N' Roll Express, Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden & Brian Lee defeated The Heavenly Bodies, Killer Kyle, Kevin Sullivan & Tazmaniac in a Rage In A Cage match when Morton forced Lane to submit.
1994 - Brian Christopher defeats Doug Gilbert for the USWA Southern Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee, starting his 13th reign with the title.
1999 - WCW held their Slamboree Pay-per-view at the TWA Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. Here are the results from the show:
- Raven & Perry Saturn defeated Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman in a three way dance to win the WCW World Tag Team Championship. The finish saw Arn Anderson come in and give Saturn a spinebuster. Then a man in a Sting mask came down and knocked Kidman off the top rope. Malenko had Mysterio in a Cloverleaf, but Raven hit Kidman with a DDT and pinned him before Mysterio tapped out, so Raven and Saturn won the match and the belts. After the match, the masked man revealed himself to be Kanyon, and he celebrated with Raven & Saturn.
- Konnan defeated Stevie Ray. The finish saw interference from Vincent, Horace Hogan and Rey Mysterio, with Mysterio helping Konnan get a roll up for the win.
- Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Brian Knobbs in a hardcore match by suplexing him through a table at a souvenir stand for the win.
- Rick Steiner defeated Booker T to win the WCW World Television Championship when Scott Steiner tripped Booker T to set up a top rope bulldog by Rick for the pin.
- Gorgeous George defeated Charles Robinson with a second rope elbow after Randy Savage bodyslammed him. As a result of the match, Randy Savage was reinstated in WCW.
- United States Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner defeated Buff Bagwell with the Steiner Recliner after Rick Steiner hit Bagwell with a chairshot.
- Ric Flair defeated Rowdy Roddy Piper in a match for control of WCW after hitting him with a foreign object. However, Eric Bischoff came out and reversed the decision, disqualifying Flair. Piper won, and immediately fired Flair. The announcers spent the next few minutes trying to explain how Eric Bischoff, despite no longer being President of WCW, could make such a decision.
- Sting vs. Goldberg ended in a no-contest when Bret Hart threw the referee out of the ring and attacked Goldberg with a chair. After Hart left, the Steiner brothers came in and attacked both men.
- Kevin Nash defeated Diamond Dallas Page to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Randy Savage interfered and attacked Kevin Nash at one point, but Eric Bischoff had the match restarted, and Savage removed from the building. Nash won the match with the jackknife powerbomb.
2000 - Crash Holly defeats Davey Boy Smith for the WWF Hardcore Title in New Haven, Connecticut, winning back the title he had lost to Smith three days earlier in England. This would be Holly's seventh Hardcore Title win. It also marked the end of Smith's last major title reign.
2003 - Major League Wrestling held their "Revolutions" event in Orlando, Florida at the Tabu Night Club. Here are the results:
- Paul London defeated Jerry Lynn.
- Masada defeated Don Juan and Fast Eddie.
- Homicide defeated Christopher Daniels.
- The Samoan Island Tribe defeated Jose & Joel Maximo.
- Raven defeated C.M. Punk.
- Fuego Guerrero defeated Ikuto Hidaka.
- C.W. Anderson & Simon Diamond defeated Steve Williams & P.J. Friedman to win a tournament to crown the first MLW Global Crown Tag Team Champions.
- Michael Shane defeated Norman Smiley.
- Mike Awesme defeated Masato Tanaka.
- La Parka defeated Sabu.
- Terry Funk defeated Steve Corino.
2005 - During an edition of Raw from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the WWE "Gold Rush" tournament for a title match with World Champion Batista continued. In the semifinals, Kane defeated Chris Benoit with a chokeslam after hitting Benoit from behind as he was helping up Lita, who had been knocked down on the floor, and Edge defeated Shawn Michaels after hitting him with the Money In The Bank briefcase as Michaels attempted a sunset flip.
2006 - During an edition of Smackdown from San Diego, California, World Champion Rey Mysterio was cleanly beaten in his hometown by The Great Khali, in under four minutes when Khali gave Mysterio a double chokeslam and placed one foot on Mysterio's chest for the pin. The non-title bout was part of a storyline where JBL was sending various opponents against Mysterio to weaken him prior to their title match at Judgment Day.
