On this day in history in ....

1986 - Wrestlerock '86, the last truly successful event for the AWA, was held at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, drawing 22,000 fans.  To hype the show, the AWA produced a truly horrific song and video, the "WrestleRock Rumble" which saw announcer Ken Resnick rapping along with many AWA stars. Here are the results:
- Brad Rheingans defeated Boris Zuhkov.
- Little Mr. T & Cowboy Lang defeated Lord Littlebrook & Little Tokyo.
- Col DeBeers defeated Wahoo McDaniel via DQ.
- Doug Somers & Buddy Rose defeated The Midnight Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) when Somers pinned Jannetty.
- Tiger Mask (Misawa) defeated Buck Zumhoffe.
- Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda defeated The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) when Windham pinned Lane.
- Giant Baba defeated Bulldog Bob Brown.
- Rick Martel vs. Harley Race via countout.
- Sherri Martel won a Women's Battle Royal.
- Americas Champion Sgt. Slaughter defeated Kamala via DQ.
- AWA World Tag Team Champions Curt Hennig & Scott Hall defeated Bill & Scott Irwin when Hall pinned Bill.
- Referee Scott LeDoux defeated Larry Zbysko via DQ in a boxing match.
- AWA World Champion Stan Hansen defeated Nick Bockwinkel via DQ.
- The Road Warriors beat Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin in a steel cage match when Animal pinned Garvin.
- Jimmy Snuka & Greg Gagne defeated Nord the Barbarian & Bruiser Brody in a steel cage match when Snuka pinned Nord. As a result, Verne Gagne was given a match with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie inside the cage, which Gagne won.

1988 - Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard defeated Lex Luger & Barry Windham for the NWA World Tag Team Title in Jacksonville, Florida when Windham turned on Luger, less than one month after winning the belts from Anderson & Blanchard. Windham held up four fingers after the match, and it was later announced that Windham had joined Anderson, Blanchard and Ric Flair in the Four Horsemen.

1996 - Jeff Jarrett defeated Jerry Lawler for the USWA Unified Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee, ending Lawler's 22nd reign, and starting his third. The finish saw referee Frank Morrell fake a heart attack while counting a Lawler pin on Jarrett. When Lawler went to check on the fallen referee, Jarrett rolled him up, and Morrell "recovered" and counted the pin.

1997 - WWE presented In Your House: Taker's Revenge from the Memorial Auditorium in Rochester, New York. Here are the results:
- In a match shown on the Free-For-All prior to the PPV, The Sultan defeated Flash Funk.
- The Legion of Doom defeated WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith via DQ.
- Savio Vega defeated Intercontinental Champion The Rock via countout.
- Jesse Jammes defeated Rockabilly (Billy Gunn).
- WWF World Champion The Undertaker defeated Mankind.
- Steve Austin defeated Bret Hart via DQ.

1998 - Bill Goldberg defeated Raven for the WCW US Heavyweight Title in Colorado Springs, Colorado, ending Raven's reign after one day (Raven won the belt the night before from Dallas Page). This was Bill Goldberg's first wrestling championship. On the same show, Hulk Hogan defeated Randy Savage for the WCW World Heavyweight Title, also ending Savage's third WCW title reign after one day.  This was the start of Hogan's fourth WCW World Title run. 

1999 - Jason Lee defeated Chris Alexande for the Ohio Valley Light Heavyweight Title.
