The belts had been vacated by Ole & Gene Anderson when Gene was injured the previous October. The idea was that there was an "Eastern Division" tournament, this one, and a "Western Division" tournament, won by Wahoo McDaniel & Don Muraco, but due to McDaniel & Muraco breaking up as a team, the belts went to Anderson & Hansen. Here are the results of the tournament:

Raw earned a 6.5 to Nitro's 2.1 in a landslide. The scary part of all this is that the most memorable moment from this edition of Raw is also one of the dumbest in WWF history. Here are the results from both shows:
Nitro - Minneapolis, Minnesota:
- WCW World Tag Team Champions Big Vito & Johnny The Bull defeated Lane & Idol when Vito hit the Impaler on Idol for the win, while most of the participants (including the referee at one point) were distracted by Miss Hancock (Stacy Keibler) who was dancing at ringside. After the match, Ron & Don Harris laid out the champions and their manager, Disco Inferno.
- Billy Kidman vs. Booker T ended in a no-contest when the Harris Brothers attacked both men and laid them out.

- Edge & Christian defeated Head Cheese (Al Snow & Steve Blackman). Terri came out and distracted Blackman, who was hit with a Christian top rope dropkick and an Edge spear for the pin.
- The Rock defeated The Brooklyn Brawler in thirty seconds with a Rock Bottom. This match was ordered by the McMahon children and Triple H, saying that Rock needed to earn a World Title match by starting at the bottom of the ladder. Rock then stated that Wrestlemania with World Champion Triple H vs. Big Show would "absolutely suck", beginning an exchange that ended with Stephanie McMahon telling the Rock that if he could beat Big Show and HHH in a handicap match, he would become the new number one contender.
- Chris Jericho defeated Perry Saturn with a Lionsault after interference by both Chyna and Dean Malenko.
- Hardcore Champion Crash Holly defeated Mark Henry when Henry couldn't continue because his girlfriend, the 80-something Mae Young, was about to give birth.

2005 - During an edition of Raw from Providence, Rhodes Island, it was announced that Hulk Hogan would be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame during Wrestlemania weekend. Also during the show, Christy Hemme revealed her Playboy cover, only to be confronted and laid out by Trish Stratus, who spraypainted "slut" on Hemme's back. Chris Jericho, after winning a match with Maven, said he wanted to be a part of Wrestlemania, and said he would make history during the show, along with five other wrestlers and a steel ladder. This would become the first ever Money In The Bank match.
