On this day in history in ....

1967 - At Madison Square Garden in New York City, Gorilla Monsoon defeats WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino via countout.

2000 - WWF held their No Way Out Pay-per-view at the Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut.  Here are the results:
- European Champion Kurt Angle defeated Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho to win the title.  Angle (who did not have his title on the line in this match) would refer to himself as the "Eurocontinental Champion" following the win.  Angle won by hitting Jericho with the Intercontinental Title belt as Jericho went for a Lionsault.  Referee Tim White was distracted by Chyna, who had accompanied Jericho to the ring and was knocked out at ringside.  Later in the show, Chyna & Jericho attacked Angle and locked him in the trunk of a car.
- The Dudley Boyz defeated WWF Tag Team Champions The New Age Outlaws to win the championship when D-Von pinned Road Dogg after 3D. During the match, Bubba hit Billy Gunn with a pipe in the shoulder, to give a storyline explanation for Gunn taking time off for an injury.
- Mark Henry defeated Viscera with a bodyslam after Viscera shoved Henry's girlfriend, Mae Young.
- Edge & Christian defeated The Hardys when Christian pinned Matt with the Unprettier after Terri slapped Matt and shoved Jeff off the top rope.  As a result, Edge & Christian earned a title match at Wrestlemania.
- Tazz defeated Big Bossman in less than a minute via DQ when Albert interfered as Tazz had Bossman in the Tazzmission.
- X-Pac defeated Kane in a No Holds Barred match by kicking the ringsteps into Kane's face and using them to pin Kane.
- Rikishi & Too Cool defeated Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn when Rikishi pinned Malenko with a Rikishi Driver.
- The Big Show defeated The Rock after Shane McMahon interfered and hit Rock with a chair.  As a result, Show earned a World Title match at Wrestlemania.
- WWF World Champion Triple H defeated Cactus Jack in a Hell In A Cell match with Pedigree after backdropping him through the roof of the cage and through the mat, which collapsed.   As a result, Mick Foley was forced to retire.  He would return less than two months later to main event Wrestlemania.

2006 - During an edition of Raw from the Verizon Center in Washington, DC, WWE held several "Money In The Bank" qualifying matches for Wrestlemania.  Rob Van Dam defeated Trevor Murdoch, Shelton Benjamin defeated Chavo Guerrero, and Ric Flair defeated Carlito Caribbean Cool. Van Dam would go on to win the Money In The Bank match at Wrestlemania.
