WWE Friday Night Smackdown, as it aired, was ordered differently from when it was taped this past Monday in New York City.
The Sami Zayn-Jimmy Uso segment, which opened Smackdown, was actually the last segment prior to CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens live in New York.
The Smackdown taping live opened with the GUNTHER-Finn Balor segment that aired after Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tama Tonga. The bout was actually taped after the segment.
A number of the interviews conducted by Byron Saxton on the broadcast, specifically segments with CM Punk and Kevin Owens, were not shown to the live audience in NYC.
PWInsider.com can also confirm that at one point, there were plans for a Rey Fenix vs. Ricky Saints match for this episode, but those plans over the course of the taping day this past Monday.
