This week's MLW Fusion on Tubi opened with a recap of the issues between The Skyscrapers and MLW Champion Killer Kross.
They are again in Philadelphia at the 2300 Arena with Tom Lawlor and Joe Dombrowski on the call. They did a big push for the Chicago PPV this Saturday.
Opera Cup: Big Damo with Josef Samael vs. Oddysey
They locked up but neither gained an advantage and they broke the clench. The same happened again. They tested their strength against each other by charging but neither man budged. Oddysey finally shoulderblocked Damo out of the ring to the floor. Damo gained control and worked over Oddysey with a side headlock before drilling him with a knee. Damo splashed him in the corner before hitting a back senton splash for a two count. Oddysey fired back and nailed a series of elbows in the corner. He nailed a sideslam for a two count. Damo came back with a uranage, then a big elbow for a close two count. Oddysey shocked him with a high cross bodyblock, then set up for a big splash. Samael placed Damo's leg on the ropes to break the pinfall. Oddysey went to the floor to confront him, following him up the entrance aisle. This allowed Brick Savage to come out and nail Oddysey with a chair, laying him out. The referee began counted Oddysey out despite his attempts to get back to the ring.
Your winner, Big Damo!
They aired a package on The Good Brothers vs. The Glasgow Boys for the PPV. They followed this up with a package on Masha Slamovich vs. ZAMAYA.
Backstage Matt Riddle was watching the footage of what went down with Killer Kross and The Skyscrapers.
Jumbo vs. Joey Martinez & Breaux Keller
JUMBO SMASH!
Your winner, Jumbo!
Entertaining throwback to the days of Andre the Giant or John Stuff wiping out multiple opponents.
The Glasgow Boys On Top were interviewed. The Good Brothers hit the scene but were held back by Atlas Security.
They aired a video package on Austin Aries vs. Matt Riddle at the PPV.
MLW Middleweight Champion Templario vs. Soberano Jr. vs. Ikuro Kwan
Everyone battled at the bell. Templario nailed a rana. He and Soberano Jr. faced off but Kwan grabbed Templario's leg. He kicked off and knocked Soberano to the floor. Templario set up for a dive but Kwan tripped him. Kwan worked over Templario with kicks and drilled him in the corner. He attacked the leg, cinching in a leglock. That allowed Soberano to nail a splash off the top. He nailed Kwan, then hit a Styles Clash on Templario, crashing him down atop Kwan for a two count. Kwan regained control and had Templario in a Dragon Sleeper but Soberano broke it up.
Soberano and Templario battled. Templario hit a gourdbuster on Soberano, smashing him down on Kwan. Templario hit a dive on Kwan and Contra's Okumura at once. Templario tossed Kwan back into the ring and hit a missile dropkick for a two count. They continued battling. Soberano nailed a running clothesline in the corner and drilled him with a superkick. Templario battled against both and all three crashed to the mat as the referee counted them down. Okumura trippled Templario. Soberano hit Kwan with a moonsault but Okumura was supposed to pull the referee out. He was out of position but grabbed at the referee's leg, which stopped the count. The 2300 Arena booed that terribly. Oops.
The referee argued with Okumura on the floor. Templario hit a sit-out powerbomb on Soberano Jr for the pin.
Your winner, Templario!
Good match except the obvious timing issue with Okumura.
If Killer Kross loses the MLW title tonight, Dijak will face Josh Bishop in Chicago.
MLW Champion Killer Kross with Scarlett Bordeaux vs. Donovan Dijak
The storyline is that Dijak jerked his own partner around by getting a title shot first, even though Bishop, not him, defeated Kross.
They locked up and tried to wear each othe down early. Kross worked over Dijak's arm and shoulder. Dijak escaped and went to the floor, wasting time and trying to stall Kross' momentum. They battled to the outside, where Kross was sent into the railing. Dijak tried to menace Scarlett, who slapped him. Kross knocked Dijak over the railing into the crowd. I am sure the 2300 Arena's management didn't like that. Dijak grabbed a drink and smashed it into Kross' face.
Back in the ring, Dijak worked over Kross and scored several two counts. After a commercial, Kross battled out of an attempted chokeslam and hit an exploder variation. Dijak cut him off and nailed a sit-out chokeslam for a two count. Kross made a comeback with a running clothesline and a DDT. Kross drilled him in the corner but was caught with a discus boot to the face for a two count. Dijak went to the top but took too long and missed. He landed on his feet and superkicked Kross. Kross rebounded and nailed a German suplex variation.
They continued to battle back and forth. Kross set up and went to hit the Kross Hammer but Dijak ducked and the referee was wiped out. Dijak lowblowed Kross but there's no referee. Dijak called for Josh Bishop, who did not come out. Scarlett revived Kross behind Dijak's back. Kross cinched in the KrossJacket submission and the challenge tapped. The announcers did a great job of putting this over as an excitable moment.
Your winner and still MLW Champion Killer Kross!
After the match, Josh Bishop came to the ring. Dijak, out on the mat, said, "Good, look who finally decided to f**ing show up." The crowd chanted he tapped out. Dijak ripped on the fans. He then ripped on Bishop. He called for Josh but he didn't listen and come out. Dijak said he put Josh in the right rooms with the right plans but he "sh**" on his face. He asked Bishop if he was a Skyscraper or a b**ch. Josh gave him the double bird. Dijak slapped him. Bishop attacked him and hit a powerbomb. He placed a table in the ring, then powerbombed Dijak through it.
They did a nice job the last few weeks trying to build up Bishop for his title match Saturday, absolutely teasing he could win the title and be the central figure for the company,
That's all for this week!
