Roman Reigns Discusses Transitioning From WWE to Acting:
Sam Roberts: How do you wrap your head around commanding that attention when you’re shooting scenes, it’s a movie, it’s not like getting into a wrestling ring and feeling 20,000 people around you. And, number two, making it different than Roman Reigns. Akuma is very different, even in the way you use your body, very different than what Roman Reigns does.
Roman Reigns: The main parallel for me, especially in this movie, my main contributions were in the third act. So it’s in the main event of the movie is what I was telling myself. And that’s what I practice, is main event performance. That’s my bag. That’s what I do when it’s my time to go out there and wrestle. So I just try to keep that type of weight on it. The stakes are as high as can be so you need to be able to come in and match what everybody’s done. … These guys know what they’re doing. I'm not a real actor. I go out and I wrestle. It really helped me to see what they have done and the way they led the film. It set the tone for what needed to be matched. It wasn't easy, but there were a bunch of things I was able to rely on from wrestling to help me take this on.
Sam Roberts: You've also evolved your performance as a wrestler, I think, further than a lot of traditional wrestlers and WWE Superstars do, in terms of the stories that you actively tell with your face. Bringing the audience on that ride, is that something that translates into film? Is that something you bring over here and maybe then bring something from here back to how Roman Reigns is portrayed?
Roman Reigns: Yeah, I think that's definitely a skill set I've developed in wrestling, but it's not like switches. It's more dials. Some characters are going to have maybe a little more of that, and some characters may not. It just depends on what's going to be the truest for that moment in time. These are all skills that I brought over and was able to harness. It worked out well in wrestling, but Akuma’s a little bit different. You know what I mean? Should there be crazy reactions? Because he's the man, he’s it. In his mind, there is no match, and that's what he's searching for. I think there were a few things like that where you had to kinda dig deep, which was fun.
Reigns on the different dynamics of a movie set vs. a WWE locker room:

Sam Roberts: Roman, you said it kind of brought you back to college days and being part of a team and everything like that. Is that a different feeling than wrestling where everybody's working together, but at the same time, it sometimes feels like there is more competition that's real than people realize?
Roman Reigns: There's a great camaraderie in wrestling. I mean, being one of the boys is, I can't even explain it because I'm in the small fraternity. I'm in that 1%. And honestly that should just be for us. But the difference is, I wasn't running around thinking I'm Noah [Centineo]. You know what I mean? Like, there's plenty of dudes in the locker room that are running around thinking they're Roman Reigns, you know, thinking they're of my level. It's crazy. It's just ridiculous. Like, look in the mirror and look at all your stuff, everything that comes with life. Look at your bank account. All the stuff. We're not the same, you know what I mean? And I didn't run around thinking I'm Noah or Andrew [Koji]. No, I'm here to work with them, complement them, make the very best combination, collaboration to create the best film, the best story. So that's kind of just, there's no confusion here. We all understand who we are and what we're trying to do and we all came together that way in a perfect way, it really was. But in wrestling, it just can't be had that way.
Noah Centineo on drawing from Marky Mark and Jake Paul to create his character:
Sam Roberts: Noah, for you, the fact that this movie takes place in ‘93 and Ken Masters at the beginning is a little bit of a burnout…burnout in the 90s is way different than a burnout in the 2020s. Were there any 90s influences, like rock star influences that you were looking at?
Noah Centineo: Yeah. I mean, we looked at Marky Mark. <laughter> There's a specific interview he did in San Francisco with MTV. And that was kinda that mixed with 2026, a little, you know, the Jake Paul aspects. I wanted to fuse those together.
50 Cent Accidentally Punches Noah Centineo in the Face While Filming "Street Fighter":
Sam Roberts: Noah's been going around, and it feels like every interview he does, he slips in the fact that you punched him in the face for real.
50 Cent: That was an accident. Look, when you've got a physical role like this, all kinds of things happen. I was kicked. I was wounded before this was over, and I'm not telling anyone that part of the story. It just doesn't feel like the right thing to say. I was kicked in the back of the head. … Accidents happen.”
Sam Roberts: And so it was an accident when he punched you in the face. How does it feel to get punched in the face by 50 Cent?
50 Cent: No, he was showing me how to do it, and then he did something different! <laughs>
Noah Centineo: I owned it. We were rehearsing. I'm supposed to duck, he's punching, and I didn't duck. And he didn't stop punching, as he shouldn't.
50 Cent: I did what you just told me to do.
Noah Centineo: And the moment it happened, I was like, "I'm so sorry."
50 Cent: I thought I was getting sued. When he said, "Oh," I was like, "Oh, s***."
Noah Centineo: I said, "I'm so sorry. Let's go again. I'm sorry. I was supposed to duck."
