Wrestling Open “Five Years Strong”

I love how Open has multiple anniversaries through the year. Tonight is the 5 year anniversary of the beginning of Uncharted Territory Season 3…which began our run of shows EVERY THURSDAY without a break. Which is crazy when I think about how much this night has really defined a part of my existence.
Spotlight Match: Erik Chacha beats Jose Zamora. I would give you a play by play but Joseph got his microphone knocked off and left right in front of me so I talked s*** on his live mic for 5 min until he got rolled up and pinned.
It’s time for the 6-man tag to kick this off. Who will be joining Team Kylon and Team Ortiz? Kylon brings in his Miracle Generation partner, Dustin Waller. Ortiz? He’s got the NEWWWWWWW tag team champs on his side!
Match 1: Kyle King, Colton Charles & DUSTIN WALLER vs Aaron Ortiz, DANNY MILES & BOBBY CASALE
We want Colton and Bobby to start this…Waller tags himself in because Bobby is “easy”. Waller gets a taste of the tag champs and he hates the flavor of punishment. Kylon tries to take a walk on Ortiz but the tag champs throw him back in. Charles with a quick distraction sends Ortiz flying into a backbreaker. Mr Disrespec takes a whole bucket of pain as he gets worked over. Casale finally gets back in there and he’s running through both MG guys. And we finally get Colton in there for some Kaiju s***. Casale finally hits a DVD that could end it but King and Waller break it up as the match loses control. Colton serves up a chokeslam which sets up a huge waterfall that ends with people diving to the floor. King gets thrown back in for Ortiz to hit his super blockbuster for the win!
Match 2: Buck Sawain vs Handyman Jake Gray
Did I mention that Gray recently won a CZW contract at Tournament of Death? Our Handyman is hardcorrrre. So this match has stopped looking like a wrestling match and more like a parking lot fight at Ralph’s Rock Diner. Sawain gets a pummeled in the early minutes by Jake….but he starting unless his own brand of woodland brutality. Maybe the blood dripping from his forehead gave him this aggression. Buck misses a flying headbutt and paints the buckle with his face….becoming the first person to bleed on Open’s brand new green buckle pads! Jake firing up now and drops Sawain with a sliced bread for the three! I liked this.
Jake on the mic. He says he hasn’t achieved the success he’s wanted. It’s going to change in year six.
Match 3: Brick City (Julio Cruz & Victor Chase) vs Big Business (Brad Hollister & Love Doug)
Brick City is ready to finish this feud. They call out their former stablemates to fight NOW. Wait…this isn’t Big Business. They are acting like them but this is…imposter jobbers?
Match 3: Brick City (Julio Cruz & Victor Chase) vs “Big Business” (“Fake Bacon” Jay Evans & “Fake Doug” Logan Macina)
Brick City kills them in 40 seconds. They get pinned in a stack. It’s rough.
Brad Hollister runs down with a chair to stop this. Love Doug doesn’t appear to be here? Bacon says Brick City has been ducking Brad since he ran them off with a chair. Big Business makes sure Brick City knows there’s a REAL fight waiting for them at their earliest convenience.
It’s time for the Discovery Gauntlet! You gotta win it to stay in it!
Match 4: Peter Gianni vs Don Freeze (Discovery Gauntlet)
Freeze just bodies Gianni early. The crowd really taking a shine to the frosty one. Gianni starts to just rally with cutting chops and tenderizing stomps. Freeze hits an awesome moonsault but Gianni kicks out. He intercepts another dive and a huge boot puts Don in the freezer for the three. I like both these guys. Freeze quickly made a crowd connection as the match started. Gianna is looking unstoppable.
Match 5: Rickey Shane Page vs Rain Conway
As a note, it appears that RSP is sponsored tonight….by Conway’s dad??? lol. Page is here as one of the head trainers of BIOPro, absolutely sick and tired of his student’s antics. Conway says RSP is jealous of him…because Rickey doesn’t have that DOGGGGG INNNNNN HIMMMMMM. RSP easily controlling Rain and trying to give him lessons the entire time. Conway gets some shots in and trying to grind his teacher down with his “superior wrestling skills”. Page finally powers back to his feet and just tosses Rain off of him. A couple of big slams and a swanton later, Conway eats the p…Rain kicks out! Page staggers Rain and…hits a downwards corkscrew headkick à la PAC. Awesome! Conway with a huge rally…Page tries to cut it off with a cross armbreaker but Conway catches him in a rollup! Rain wins! RSP is shocked that his student bested him. But he did it clean. You can’t argue that.
Match 6: Kylie Alexa & TJ Crawford vs Bear Bronson & Liviyah
I like this champ/other champs rival team setup. I’m excited for this rare intergender match at Open. Crawford is seething as he taunts the bear right to his face. Crawford trades in the pocket immediately, kicks vs Bear chops. He loses. He trades middle fingers…Bronson almost chomps his digits off! Kylie tags in and she’s willing to tangle with the Bear…but Liviyah wants a piece of this action too. TJ tries to interfere and Bear slams him down. Liviyah slams Alexa into TJ. She slams BRONSON into TJ! Crawford and Alexa tries to run but get chased back into the fight. Crawford finally gets some heat on Liviyah and Alexa is able to take control. Kylie baits Bear with a hard slap which distracts Ref Tiger from seeing Alexa and TJ pummel Liv. Liviyah escapes with a TKO and gets to Bear! Bronson in hot as he rampages through Crawford. Kylie tries to throw herself in front of a speeding Bear but he plows right through her to get to TJ. Huge powerslam! TJ escapes a chokebomb…Kylie back in and slaps Bronson again. Crawford in but gets staggered…Kylie with a codebreaker! Huge sequence of every landing moves till they collapse. Both teams recover and throw bombs back and forth! Liv slams TJ. Kylie wipes out Liv. Bear back in it and he offers his chest for Alexa to try her luck. She goes right for it, hitting dozens of shots….and then Bear Bronson pastes her with a black hole slam. TJ fake out Bear with a hangman’s ddt to the apron. TJ uncorks a silver bullet on Liviyah and drapes Kylie on Liv’s corpse for the three.
Match 7: Devin Reno vs Ichiban (Best of One Fall Match)
The rules are: if you score a fall…your opponent has ONE MINUTE to answer you with either their own fall or tossing you over the top rope. This is NEAT? We remind Reno that he is bald…as is custom. Ichiban runs through him but Reno reverses a high cross body to a pin! The clock is on for Ichiban! Reno tries to grind him down but then Ichiban sends him over the top and boots him to the floor! The clock is stopped!
Huge dive sequence to the floor! Ichiban with a slam but can’t follow up. Reno with a big flurry and gets another clean three with a tornado bomb! The clock is on! Ichiban turns on the speed and snaps Reno to the ground and traps the legs for the three! Reno is furious!
Ichiban sets up for the Bankai…Reno dodges and hits his vertical cutter! Kick out! Ichiban hits the 111! Reno intercepts the smash and hits a superplex….Ichiban catches him with the three! Reno is scrambling for the pin. He grabs a chain. Ref bill takes it away…he has another…ref bill sees it before he hits Ichiban. Devin protests but turns right into the Ichi Bankai. If it wasn’t enough that Reno didn’t make the 60 second timer…Ichiban pins him for a second consecutive time as time expires. Ichiban VERY MUCH won this as Reno’s master plan blew up in his face.
Main Event: The Vibe (Sammy Diaz & Mani Ariez) and Brother Greatness vs The Breadwinners (Cash McGuinness & Patrick Wheatman) and 23 Hazard
GREATNESS WANTS HAZARD IN THIS RING…Cash torments us by starting this match and running in a holy man high on the Lord. Greatness just destroys McGuiness as Hazard complains from the apron. Wheatman tries his luck but Sammy Diaz is happy to take him for a ride in his chopper. The Vibe cutting through bread like a knife. Greatness joins them for a whaaaazzzzaaaappppp…He finally gets Hazard in there with him and the Breadwinners quickly turn the tide on things. Brother just getting triple teamed as someone is always running distraction on Ref Tiger. Greatness gets to the Vibe! Mani with a double stack of Bread. Fallaway slam! Sammy with the splash! Wheatman saves Cash! Vibe tries it again but Cash rakes Mani’s eyes! Big brawl sends everyone outside! Triple dive from the Vibe! Hazard sent in to eat a boot from Greatness. Hazard is left to eat punishment from everyone! Greatness sets up for the kill but the Breadwinners pull the Vibe out! Hazard with his shank shot! Kick out! hazard sent flying! Mani going toe to toe with Wheatman and drops him to the floor with a huge chop! Cash is left to eat a shield style super bulldog for the win!!!!
