AEW Dynamite is live from the Fishers Event Center in Indianapolis, IN. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
We start with Promos from The Demand, who says that Swerve and the New Level aren’t a real Trios team. Swerve and the New Level talk about Swerve’s history with The Demand.
Swerve Strickland and the New Level (Kofi and Austin Creed) AEW Trios Champions vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Leona, and Bishop Kaun)
Swerve and Ricochet start the match by throwing hands, and Ricochet gets a kick to stop Swerve. Swerve knocks Ricochet down, and they go back and forth. Swerve gets a backbreaker. Swerve goes to the ropes, and Kaun kicks him in the back, and Ricochet gets a dropkick. Kaun is tagged in and gets a snapmare. Swerve escapes and tags in Creed, who gets an arm bar. Kaun gets a pair of chops. Creed reverses and gets ten in the corner after a pair of chops. Creed gets a dropkick to Kaun’s back as Kaun lays against the ropes.
Kofi tags in and gets a senton on Kaun and then a cross body from the top for one. Creed tags in, and he comes off the top to drop onto Kaun’s arms. Swerve’s team works over Kaun with quick tags and double-team moves. Kaun is able to get to his corner after Kofi is sent to the floor and Creed is worked over by The Demand with quick tags as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Creed has been the babyface in peril through the break. Creed is able to dive on Kaun and then gives Ricochet a guillotine on the top rope, but Leona knocks Creed over the announcer’s table. Ricochet then dives over the ring post to take out Swerve on the floor. The Demand then works over Swerve on the floor. Creed is rolled into the ring, and he gets a thrust kick on Ricochet, and both men are down. Creed tags in Kofi, who runs wild.
The sequence ends with Leona getting a shoulder tackle as Kaun is holding Kofi in a chokehold. Leona covers for two, broken up by Creed. Creed fights Leona into the corner, and Leona dumps him over the top into the steel steps. Ricochet dives onto Creed, and GOA works over Kofi in the ring with Leona covering for two. Kofi is then worked over by The Demand with quick tags.
Ricochet gets a 630 senton on Kofi for two, broken up by Swerve. Swerve and Kofi crawl to their corners. Swerve is tagged in as is Kaun, and Swerve cleans house. Both Swerve and Creed get flatliners on Leona, to no effect. Kofi gets a DDT on Leona, and Swerve follows with a 450 splash, and the pin is broken up by Ricochet hitting a 450 of his own. Kofi is the only one up, and he is calling for a tag. He is tagged in, and Leona nails him with a headbutt. Creed sends Leona into the ring post from the inside and then is able to lift Leona and gets a Death Valley Driver.
Everyone gets a big move on the last person in the ring. Swerve gets a house call on Leona as Kofi is trying for a DDT, and the entire team piles onto Leona for the pin and the win.
Winners and still AEW Trios Champions: Swerve Strickland and the New Level.
This brings Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King to the ring. Page says he wanted to say congratulations because the Trios title feels important in their hands. He then says he is glad Kofi and Creed are in AEW, but he doesn’t think they realize who they have gotten involved with. Page then asks Swerve what he is doing.
Creed says that he is teaming with the greatest team in wrestling, and the titles are the most prestigious. Creed says he has Swerve all wrong, and he has been fine since they got here. Bordy says it’s only been three weeks. Swerve says that Page has been abandoned by more teams than anyone, and Page is no better or different than he is.
Brody says Saturday the best will fight to see who is the best in the business and if three weeks was enough to keep the belts. Bandido says the Trios titles are the most wanted and they belong to his team.
In the back, Renee Paquette is with Speedball Mike Bailey, Will Ospreay, and Akira. Will says that, after he says, Bailey has been invited to join the United Empire. Bailey agrees to join.
Next is a promo from Thekla, who says inside everyone are two bitches. A dumb bitches who is into kindness and happiness, and there is a real bitch who will sink their teeth into you and never let go. She says she will go out and have a good time with her friends because she is for the children. Tonight, she will be nice, but Saturday, she will be toxic.
Jon Moxley (AEW Continental Champion) vs Dezmond Xavier - Eliminator match
They lock up, and Mox shoves Xavier down. Xavier grabs a side headlock, and Mox rolls to the mat for a one count. Xavier holds on, and Mox is able to slam him to the mat. Xavier gets a spinning head scissors and then works over Mox in the corner. Mox reverses it and does the same. Mox runs into a big boot, and Xavier gets a tejaris, sending Mox to the floor. Dezmond dives, and Mox avoids it, getting back in the ring. Xavier charges at Mox, and Mox gets a big boot as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Mox is giving Xavier ten in the corner. Mox tries for a piledriver, and Xavier blocks him. Xavier sends Mox to the floor with a low bridge and then dives onto Mox. Mox is rolled into the ring, and Xavier charges at him, getting a series of strikes and kicks. Xavier gets a snapmare followed by a dropkick to Mox’s back. Xavier gets a standing moonsault for two. Mox catches Xavier’s kick and gets a German suplex followed by a big kick. Xavier gets a series of kicks and a cutter for two.
Xavier tries a handspring elbow, and Mox catches him. Xavier escapes and hits a handspring kick, and Mox follows with a clothesline. Xavier dodges a charge and goes to the top for a flip that Mox avoids. Mox gets a dropkick, and Xavier responds with a meteora for two. Mox grabs a rear naked choke. Xavier has to tap out.
Winner: Jon Moxley
Renee is with Darby Allin and Steven Borden, and she says Cope has asked to speak to them. He says Borden will be massive in the industry. He says that he saw Borden say he wanted to challenge the tag team champions. Since he is the tag team champion, Borden should talk to Sting about climbing to the top. He tells Darby that beating him and Christina Cage is like climbing two Everests, and Darby said he accepted.
The Young Bucks are on their way to the ring to speak. They are followed by FTR. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are the last ones to join the discussion.
Stokely says FTR has nothing further to say and they are only there so they don’t get fined. Matt Jackson says that in the upcoming match, they are the Dudley Boys. Nick Jackson says they haven’t had the best luck in getting the title back, and if this is their last opportunity, they will fight like hell to become the first 4-time AEW Tag Team Champions. Cage says that this will be their last opportunity. Cah+ge says they are one-time champions, but that is going to stay that way. Cage starts to talk about meeting the Bucks’ mother in Chicago, and Cope grabs the mic from him.
Cope says he is sick of them talking about who will be four-time champions when they have been in over 40 ladder matches. Matt says the last time they saw Cope jump off of something, he was out for a year. This is where it all breaks down into a brawl. FTR leaves the ring, and the Bucks hit Cope and Cage with superkicks. The Bucks attack FTR, and security pulls them apart, but not before Nick comes off the ladder onto everyone.
Security hit the ring to grab the chairs from Cope and Cage, and they hit a security official with a con-chair-to.
In the back, Renee is with Willow Nightingale, who says her hand is doing better and now she and Mone are two and two in their matches. So that means she has to take out Thekla. She says last time she faced Thekla, she took the World Title from her, so she will see her on Saturday.
Tommaso Ciampa vs Jake Doyle
Don Callis joins commentary.
Ciampa dodges Doyle’s charge and hits a series of body blows. Ciampa gets a leaping clothesline and dumps Doyle to the floor. He gets a running knee strike when Doyle tries to get in the ring. Ciampa rolls Doyle into the ring and charges at Doyle, who gets a body block. Doyle slams Ciampa into the mat and gets a rear chinlock. He then clubs Ciampa down to the mat. Doyle whips Ciampa into the corner, and Ciampa rolls to the floor. Doyle goes to the floor and picks up Ciampa, who escapes out the back and hits Doyle with a DDT when Doyle tries to get into the ring.
Ciampa beats down Doyle on the floor. Doyle is able to nail Ciampa as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Doyle has Ciampa on top, and they go back and forth. Ciampa gets a psycho drill on Doyle from the second rope for two. Ciampa then mocks how Kazuchika Okada flips the crowd the bird. Doyle gets to his feet, and they throw hands. Doyle gets a forearm to drop Ciampa. Ciampa follows with a dropkick. Doyle gets his hands on Ciampa for a power bomb for two.
The fight goes back to the floor, and Doyle charges into Ciampa. Doyle slams Ciampa into the floor and then rolls him into the ring. Ciampa is able to escape a sidewalk slam and gets a running knee, followed by a second running knee for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Ciampa has a mic and says what he is about to do is as much for Don as it is for Okada. Ciampa says he is the moneymaker. In 2018, they lived on different islands, and people asked, " What if? " and now they don’t have to ask since they live on the same island now. They don’t have to wait until Chicago; they can do it now.
Okada obliges him, but he is in street clothes and stays on the stage. He says he asked for the rainmaker, but he has bad news for him. He won’t get the rainmaker tonight, and he is so sorry. At All Out, they will get what they want, and he will show the world Ciampa is not on his level. Bitch.
Ciampa mocks him and says he isn’t scared of the rainmaker, and in Chicago will get a version of the Psycho Killer they have never seen before and take his title. Bitch.
Persephone (TBS Title) vs Hyan
Britt Baker joins commentary.
They lock up and move quickly to waistlocks. Persephone gets a back heel trip and grabs a headlock for a takedown and a pair of two counts. Hyan gets a takedown for two, and Persephone reverses for a two count. Persephone gets a rollup for two, and Hyan does the same.
Persephone gets a running back elbow. Hyan gets an arm drag and then a leg sweep for two. Hyan gets a jackknife for a two count. She gets an arm drag, sending Persephone to the floor, and then dives onto Persephone as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Persephone gets a series of chops. Hyan fires back. Persephone drops Hyan and gets a springboard moonsault from the second rope for two. Persephone batters Hyan into the corner and then charges so that Hyan gets a big boot. Hyan gets a series of running back elbows and then trips Persephone. Hyan gets a bad back body drop for two.
“Didn’t get all of it.”
Persephone gets a drop down into a rollup for two. Hyan does the same for two. Persephone gets a Northern Lights suplex for two. Persephone picks up Hyan, who escapes and gets a spear or two. Hyan calls for a charge, and Persephone dodges at the last second. Persephone is able to drop down onto Hyan and holds the ropes for the pin and the win.

Will Ospreay and Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Gabe Kidd and Claudio Castagnoli w/The Death Riders
Mox joins commentary.
Bailey and Kidd start the match. They lock up, and Kidd shoves them quickly to the corner. Bailey reverses it and lands a chop. Bailey gets a headlock, and Kidd forces them to the ropes. They start to throw chops at each other. Kidd misses a senton, and he then grabs Bailey, puts him on the top rope, and knocks him to the floor. All four men start brawling on the floor, with Kidd and Claudio dominating.
Kidd sends Bailey into the ring, while Ospreay gets a leaping elbow strike on Claudio on the floor. Bailey gets a dropkick in the ring on Kidd and then tags in Ospreay.
They double team Kidd, and Ospreay covers after a sky twister for two. Kidd grabs Ospreay’s hand and bites one of his fingers, tagging in Claudio. They beat down Ospreay. Ospreay tries for a tejaris but Claudio blocks it. Bailey kicks Claudio’s leg to free Ospreay. Bailey and Ospreay get tejaris takedowns on Kidd and Claudio. They then dive onto Kidd and Claudio.
Claudio is returned to the ring, and Bailey and Ospreay try for a tandem suplex, and Claudio counters it into a double suplex on Ospreay and Bailey as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Bailey has been the babyface in peril through the break. Bailey is able to get an insigiri on Kidd and dives for the tag, but Claudio pulls Ospreay off the apron. Bailey dives onto Claudio and then goes to the top. Kidd grabs his foot and bites it. Kidd joins him on top, and Bailey sneaks out the bottom and hits a Ligen Bomb on Kidd, and both men are down.
Ospreay and Claudio are tagged in, and Ospreay runs wild. Ospreay ends the sequence by hitting a corkscrew kick on Kidd for two. Ospreay misses a hidden blade, and they go back and forth. Ospreay gets a juji gitame and Claudio breaks it up. Bailey gets a pump kick on Claudio. Bailey and Ospreay get stereo juji gitames. Claudio powers up and slams Bailey onto Ospreay to break the hold. Kiss slams his head into the top turnbuckle, and they hit uppercuts on Ospreay. Claudio hits a pop-up uppercut on Ospreay for two, broken up by Bailey.
Kidd and Bailey trade blows, and after Kidd is knocked down, Claudio knocks Bailey to the floor. Claudio gets the giant swing, but Ospreay turns it into a DDT and follows with a Styles Clash for the pin and the win.
Winners: Will Ospreay and Speedball Mike Bailey
Ospreay grabs the mic and says he is grateful because, one upon a time, this place didn’t exist, but everyone here did the work to bring it all about. As long as AEW has been alive, so has Jon Moxley. He tells Mox Thank you. He thanks him for the guidance, for being the ace, and for breaking him because it made him who he is today. He says he risked his life for the gold, the idea of a world champion that AEW is all about.
He says Mox has been dumped in the ocean with a great white shark because he is a challenger and he is the world champion.
Mox grabs a mic and slowly gets into the ring. He asks if, standing here and looking across the ring at Mox, he feels like the champion. Kidd tries to attack, and Mox stops him. Ospreay hits him with a hidden blade and says he feels like the champion with some words that were censored.
