I caught the tail end of Triplemania last night, what a great presentation. That's a really good product with a hot fan base, what more could you ask for? Curious as to your thoughts; with WWE owning the company, they can certainly present it as they wish. But how do you think the regular AAA roster feels about some of the top titles being held by WWE guys? Again, I know " it's business " but I'd have to think some roster members would be resentful of this.
There probably are some talents that feel that way. The flip side is that AAA is doing good business with the WWE influence.
Uncle Dave recently said the New Level/New Day should be successful in AEW bc they didn't have "WWE Brain". This affliction appears to be thinking you are too good to put AEW talent over and believe everything they do is wrong bc it's different from WWE, and are just in AEW to get back to WWE. Besides Rusev, Malaki Black and CM Punk, can you think of anyone else you'd diagnose with WWE brain since AEW started in 2019?
I wouldn’t diagnose anyone with it because it’s a ridiculous premise. To most reporters, wrestling is wrestling. To him, everything AEW is great and everything WWE is the opposite. It’s totally irrational to me.
I remember at Armageddon 2000 they had a 6 man hell in a cell main event. Could you see something like that happening on the Smackdown side of things on an upcoming PLE? Between Sami, Punk, Cody, Orton, Balor, Owens, and Gunther they’ve built up 7 guys in the world title picture that are all interacting with each other. It seems like it could be the right timing.
Could they do it? Sure. They have built the current title contenders on Smackdown to a point where that would make sense and it would be fairer than doing The Elimination Chamber.
Does LA Knight have a chance at beating Roman at Money in the Bank?
A chance? Sure. Is it a good one? I don’t see them doing it.
If they don't finally pull the trigger, where do they go with him afterwards? IMO, it would be the ultimate "feel good" story for him to win "the big one" after 23 years in the business. (Similar to Daniel Bryan and Kofi-Mania. And interestingly enough, Money in the Bank is in the same city as Daniel Bryan's crowning moment.
That’s the problem. They have yoyo’d Knight so much that if he doesn’t get it down now, will people stop believing in him forever? I could see that happening.
But maybe I'm giving Triple H's current booking too much credit...)
