Cesar Pabon, who wrestled for Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association passed away on Saturday 9/12 at 98 years old.
During his AWA run, Pabon was systematically pitted against a Who's Who of legendary main-event talent and future Hall of Famers. On AWA television, he shared the ring with top-tier icons including at-the-time AWA World Heavyweight Champions Verne Gagne and Nick Bockwinkel, Superstar Billy Graham, Dusty Rhodes, Baron von Raschke, Jesse Ventura, Mad Dog Vachon, The Iron Sheik, and Pat Patterson, among others. After his AWA run, he wrestled in the early 80s for Carlos Colons' World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico. He was later involved in training talents in the Milwaukee area.
Beyond professional wrestling, Hispanic News Network reported that Pabon worked for many years in Milwaukee for the United Community Center (UCC) helping at risk kids by creating programs to give them an alternative from the streets.
