FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR "SUPERSTAR" BILL DUNDEE!
Born William Cruickshanks on October 24, 1943, in Kirriemuir, Scotland, Bill was raised by his mother, Helen Stewart, and his grandfather, William Cruickshanks. He left his homeland as a young teenager. In 1962 he married Beverly Joyce Davis. They had two children: Donna and Jamie Dundee.
Before wrestling, Bill worked in the circus, walking the tightrope and training elephants. That path led him into professional wrestling, a calling that took him around the world and eventually brought him to Tennessee. Known to fans as "Superstar" Bill Dundee, he became one of the most recognizable names in the sport he loved, especially in Memphis, where he left a lasting mark as a performer, rival, partner, and later a booker and mentor.
While his career made him known around the world, his greatest role was that of a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his son, Jamie Dundee (Angela); Jamie’s six children; many beloved great-grandchildren; and countless others who saw him as a father figure in and out of the wrestling business.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Stewart; his grandfather, William Cruickshanks; his wife, Beverly Joyce Dundee; his daughter, Donna Dundee Eaton; his son-in-law, Bobby Eaton; and his grandson Austin Dundee.
His memory will live on through the people who loved him, the stories that will continue to be told, and the lasting impact he made. As "Superstar" Bill Dundee, he will be remembered as one of the best in the wrestling world. He will be missed by friends and fans across the world.
Friends, family, and the public are invited to celebrate the life of “Superstar” Bill Dundee on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Love and Truth Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the service beginning at 12 p.m.
