Thoughts on Will Ospreay winning at Wembley?
Sometimes in wrestling doing the expected, almost obvious thing is the right move to make. Yesterday AEW did exactly that. In that time and place, the right call was Ospreay winning the title and they delivered.
Have you seen any other wrestler that has a punching style like Hulk Hogan? He reaches out, puts his hand on the opponent’s head, then hits his own hand.
I was never a Hulk Hogan fan and part of the reason for that is how fake his whole arsenal was. His punches were terrible. There may have been other people who threw them like he did, but no one of major prominence that I can think of.
Subjective questions about the NWO here, but clearly, there were members that didn’t belong in the group. Who, in your opinion didn’t belong in the faction based upon their lack of wasta? I’ll start off the list with a bodyguard and a powerlifter. Who is at fault for expanding the brand and diluting such a great heel team?
To me, the only wrestlers that should have ever been in the nWo were Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan. They were the group. They were taking over WCW. The rest of the roster should have tried to take them down, at least the babyfaces anyway. It got way too diluted over time.
Are 3-4 members the industry standard now for heel teams: 4 Horsemen, NWO (with Xpac), Vision?
I think that is the sweet spot, for sure.
I watch Scott Hall and just marvel at his ring work! I think he had it all, looks, build, charisma, character, work, and mic skills. Do you think he is properly recognized as an INDIVIDUAL wrestler, taking into account the last days of his in-ring career? How do you think he’ll be remembered 20 years from now?
He was always really, really good. It depends on who is doing the remembering, but for his role in The Outsiders alone he should be given credit for his contribution to the business. If the Hall Of Fame was based on merit, I would put him in, for sure.
In all the years of pro wrestling’s play on ring names, has Roni Jabro ever been used? A wrestler who constantly loses and strives to be a mid-carder?
