Regarding the ESPN not renewing WWE story: I had a question or maybe it’s a thought but would like your opinion as well. I’m not saying I’m believe the story about ESPN already deciding whether they will renew with WWE or not but wouldn’t they put out the same type of statement they did, no matter what they had planned on doing? It’s not like they would confirm it if true or they have already made up their minds at this point anyway. Can’t you just take their statement with a grain of salt?
If a credible source has been the root of the story? I maybe would feel differently about their statement. Like, if PWInsider.com had done a well researched story, where legitimate sources gave us real data, then yes, maybe I would question ESPN’s statement more. But that is not the case here. Some rando that I never heard of made a claim on the internet, and they shot it down. I am kind of surprised that ESPN commented at all because that person could have been easily ignored. The fact that they chose to comment leads to believe them more, not less.
Can we all agree that Owen was better than Bret?
No, we can’t. I loved Owen and I loved Bret. They were both great. But how the word “better” is defined is subjective and there is no world where everyone would agree one definitively being better than the other.
This lucha tournament has provided some good matches but doesn't it seem a bit pointless? Do we really expect Roman Reigns to lose?
It has provided great matches and also given AAA talents exposure on Raw. It’s not pointless. They are trying to build interest in Mexico for their Raw show there. With that said, not only is there no drama in it for me with whoever takes on Roman, there was no drama in it for me as to who would be in the final next week. I always thought it would be Penta vs. Rey Fenix.
With the departure of Ilya Dragunov and the less than stellar booking of some others talents, is this just 100% bad creative or is something more sinister afoot? I know this is out there, but given TKO's obsession with the bottom line, please indulge me on this one: since I don't know the status of contracts and when they're coming up for renewal, do you think they are underhanded enough to tank someone's creative to decrease their value, thus helping them justify a lesser contract offer if someone is close to a negotiation period for a new deal?
I never put anything against most corporations but in this case, that is pretty far into the minutia for me to believe it’s a possibility. Look at The New Day. They didn’t minimize them before they offered the new, lower deal. I just think that for, whatever reason, HHH and his team didn’t understand the Dragunov character and had no idea how to get the most of out him. Honestly, he’s not alone there.
I don't want to sound all "conspiracy theory" on this, but in the realm of big business and the entertainment industry, there has and always will be really shady and downright unethical practices going on. Do you see this as even a remote possibility, or do I simply need medication?
I can see how you wondered that but I don’t think that was the case here.
