After a long delay, John Cena's Looney Tunes comedy Acme vs. Coyote will officially be released this Friday in movie theaters. In some markets, the film will be released in 4DX, which could prove to be very fun given the animated nature of the film. The film tells the tale of "a down-on-his-luck (human) attorney (Will Forte) who takes on Wile E Coyote. as a client in his suit against Acme over its defective products, only to discover that his boss at his former law firm is representing Acme." In November 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the film had been canceled by Warner Bros Discovery and would not be released despite filming having been completed on the live action-CGI film. Cena plays Forte's former college friend, now the lead lawyer at Acme. WBD, which shelved the film after it was completed, eventually sold Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment for $50 million in March 2025, rescuing the film from oblivion.
Dexter Lumis and Bill Dundee appeared at yesterday's Memphis Wrestling TV taping, so they will be on upcoming episodes. The promotion's 8/21 event in Tupelo, MS will be released as a YouTube special. Buff Bagwell will be appearing at their 9/13 taping.
Zach Gowen will be the subject on the final episode of Dark Side of the Ring tomorrow.
Carlito and Davey Boy Smith Jr. appeared for Canada's Wrestling Elite on 8/22 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Rookie's Sports Bar, which has hosted a lot of indy wrestling over the years. Carlito defeated Danny Duggan. The Cannon Corporation defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. & James Roth.
Santana Garrett won the WOW - Women of Wrestling Title on this past weekend's TV episode.
