The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY, which celebrates the art and legacy of comedy, has several pro wrestling-related inclusions, PWInsider.com has learned.
There is an exhibit window dedicated to the late Andy Kaufman, which features a 1981 Polaroid photo of Kaufman, wearing his Women's Wrestling Champion of the World t-shirt and championship belt, as well as the Elvis jacket he wore on stage in his standup act, a number of photos and the hand-written letter he once penned to Elvis Presley. Kaufman famously appeared in Memphis Wrestling, feuding with Jerry Lawler.
In an interactive area dedicated to late night talk shows, designed to look like a control room, visitors can play the infamous Andy Kaufman-Jerry Lawler segment from David Letterman's NBC show. The clip ends with Lawler slapping Kaufman.
