Since SummerSlam… Joe Hendry pinned in about 2 minutes. New women’s champion Chelsea Green pinned. Solo Sikoa pinned by Jey Uso and dragged back into the interminable Bloodline story. AAA mega champion Dominik Mysterio pinned clean. Meanwhile, Owens and Punk talk about stuff that happened in the locker room 20 years ago, Ricky Saints has disappeared, Ilya Dragunov is AWOL and Johnny Gargano is still lying on a box for reasons I can’t remember and don’t care about. What are we even doing here?
I have said for a while now that Paul Levesque’s booking has gone downhill in a really bad manner. Your question really drives that point home. I can’t answer to what he is doing because it doesn’t make sense to me either. It’s hard to believe he is the same guy that booked WWE onto Netflix and ESPN at this point.
With Daniel Bryan being so high up and favored in AEW, will we ever see him get inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame?
I would hope so. He deserves it. But, the climate right now, with WWE running shows against AEW at every turn, makes me think that it won’t be any time soon, which is sad.
With a decent amount of crossover talent that were successful in both WWE and AEW, such as Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Jade Cargill, Daniel Bryan, Christian, etc., do you ever see WWE and AEW working together to allow contracted talent appear for their competitors’ HOF inductions?
I think there would be a better case of Tony Khan allowing it than TKO. Tony is, first and foremost, a wrestling fan and he respects history.
In reading Dave's response about a specific Lawler fan, your wording had me thinking that i may have an idea who that loser is. if I was a Wrestling Observer i would guess the guy is a known hoarder, would I be correct?
You would not be, but you would be close. The fan in question is an avid reader of said publication, almost like it's his Bible. So, he is an acolyte.
Do you think TKO will finally learn their lesson about ticket prices now? Because while you could make the argument they made as much money at Mania this year despite lower attendance thanks to higher ticket price, I doubt that's the case with Summerslam. At some point, it's going to affect the stock price—is that what it's going to take?
If it affects the stock price they then have let it go too far. Obviously, it’s an issue right now and with the booking being meh, as it is, it makes it easier for people who might want to go see a hotter product stay home instead. Sooner or later TKO will have to address the pricing because as it stands now they are discounting many, if not all, buildings in a big way as the shows get closer to happening. That tells you that they know there is an issue. But, it’s up to the top brass to acknowledge it. Will they? Great question!
