AEW Collision was recorded Wednesday night after Dynamite from The Pearl Theater at the Palms in Las Vegas, NV. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Paul Wight.
Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King (AEW Trios Champions) vs Lethal Twist (Blake Christian, Lee Johnson, and Jay Lethal)
Page and Blake start the match with waistlocks and go behinds. They run the ropes, and Page gets a shoulder tackle. Blake sweeps the leg on the way up, and they go back to running the ropes after going back and forth, and Page gets a big body slam. Blake shoves Page to the corner, and they work over Page with quick tags. Page gets a drop sault on Johnson while kicking Lethal and covers Johnson for two. Page slams Johnson and then gets an over-the-top rope senton on Johnson. Bandido tags in. Bandido does the same, and tags in Brody. Johnson rolls away from the ropes, and Brody gets a senton in the ring.
Bandido tags in, and Jonsons shoves him to his corner, and Blake tags in again. Blake tries to pull off Bandido’s mask, and Bandido slips out from underneath. Bandido sweeps Blake’s legs, and then they run the ropes with Bandido hitting a tejarias. Johnson tags in and puts Bandido in the tree of woe. This sets off the tag team alarm, and everyone is fighting in the corner as Blake and Johnson lands kicks on Bandido as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we turn to full screen, Bandido has been the babyface in peril through the break. Bandido hits a tornado from the top on Lethal and crawls for the tag to Brody. Brody cleans the house. Brody hits a cannonball on all three members of the Lethal Twist after charging into all three in the corner and covers Johnson for two.
Page is tagged in. He pummels Johnson, and then gets a big lariat, sending Johnson to the floor. Lethal gets a pump kick; this page goes to the floor, and Page tosses him into the barricade. Brody then takes over on the floor, and they double-team Johnson and Blake, and Page gets a moonsault from the guard rail above the barricade onto both of them. Johnson is rolled into the ring, and Page gets a moonsault from the top onto Johnson for two.
Bandido is tagged in, and he tags in Brody. This leads to each person getting a big move on the last person to get one. The Lethal Twist get Brody to the floor and lands multiple dives onto him. Brody is rolled into the ring,g and Johnson gets a frog splash from the top, and Blake gets a 450 from the top, and they cover Brody for two.
Blake and Johnson get a series of kicks and strikes on Brody, but Page gets a buckshot lariat on Blake. Bandido gets into the ring for an X Knee on Johnson. They swing Johnson in Brody’s arms, give him a double kick, and Brody slams Johnson as Page and Bandido dive onto Blake and Lethal on the floor.

Ricochet comes out from the back and says he loves to rain on their parade, and if their right hand doesn’t get you, the left hand will. Page’s team is attacked by Bishop Kaun, Toa Leona, and the Lethal Twist. Ricochet stands over Page’s team.
In the back, Lexi Nair is with Don Callis, Hechicero, and Brian Cage. Don says that with Hechicero and Brian Cage fighting in the Continental Cup Tournament isn’t dissension; it’s competition, and he asks them to shake hands. They shake hands, and Don says tonight, nobody dies
Lexi is with Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong, talking about how their match tonight won’t change their friendship, but they will both be trying to win.
Brian Cage vs Hechicero - Continental Cup Tournament Match
They lock up, and Hechicero tries to trip Cage, who blocks him. They move to mat wrestling and then into the corner where Cage gets a series of chops. They run the ropes, and Hechicero keeps charging at Cage, who doesn't drop. Hechicero gets a kick to Cage and then dropkicks Cage’s knee for one only.
Hechicero gets a series of blows from behind and then snaps Cage’s arm. Hechicero lays in chops in the corner and tries for a running knee strike, and Cage catches him and hits a Death Valley Driver. Cage then worked over Hechicero in the corner with charges and a pump kick. Cage grabs Hechicero from the apron and suplexes him into the ring as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Cage has been dominating Hechicero, and Hechicero fights off of Cage’s shoulders. Hechicero shoves Cage to the corner and then gets a dragon screw in the ropes. Hechicero goes to the top and gets a leaping elbow strike for two. Hechicero gets a series of stomps on Cage’s head. Hechicero follows Cage into the ropes and ties up Cage in the ropes for a four count. Hechicero gets a choke on the outside, and Cage reverses it into a hanging DDT from the top for two.
Cage hits a power bomb for two. Hechicero reverses a pump handle pickup and rolls Cage up for two. Hechicero wraps up the legs, and Cage has to get the ropes for the break. Hechicero gets a rising knee strike in the corner, but Cage hits a discus lariat, and both men are dazed. They fight on their knees as they get to their feet. Hechicero gets out of a pickup. Hechicero gets a flying guillotine for two. Hechicero gets a rollup for the pin and the win.
Winner and advancing in the Continental Cup Tournament: Hechicero
They shake hands after the match, so THEY aren’t fighting in the Don Callis Family. Yet.
Darby Allin is somewhere dark, and he says the biggest fear in his life is when his ride in AEW is over; he won’t know who is in the mirror. Sting taught him he doesn’t have to change anything about himself, unlike Kevin Knight, who has changed. He says from now until Wembley, he won’t sneak attack Knight; he wants to beat the best Kevin Knight possible, but after that, Knight won’t recognize the person in the mirror.
We see the Rascalz hyping themselves up for their match later tonight. Myron Reed says he needs a win and thanks them for setting up a match tonight. Lio Rush shows up and says he set up their match tonight.
The Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross), AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions vs. The Already In The Ring Mazzerati and Rachelle Riveter
This doesn’t take long for the Dominion to wipe out Mazzerati with the Divine Intervention for the pin and the win.
Winners and still AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions: Divine Dominion.
The Brawling Birds charge the ring and they all brawl, with the Divine Dominion being sent to the floor. The Birds set up the steel steps and suplex Bayne into the timekeeper’s table, and Kross saves her. The Divine Dominion back up the ramp as they all shout at each other.
In the back, Renee Paquette is with Zayda Steel. Steel says she is excited about facing Mercedes Mone on Saturday. Mone shows up and starts to call Steel a fan, but Steel says she lost all respect for Mone when she attacked Willow Nightingale. Mone drops her and says she will teach Steel respect on Saturday.
Nigel McGuinness vs Katsuyori Shibata - Continental Cup Tournament Match
Shibata calls for a handshake, and Nigel shakes his hand. Shibata gets an arm bar, and they may wrestle, with Shibata going for the ankle. Shibata grabs a head scissors and has to get into a handstand to get out; Shibata grabs him, and they go back to chain wrestling. They work to their feet and work arm bars back to the mat. They break and reset.
They go back to arm bars into the ropes, and Nigel breaks with a strike. Nigel tries to make amends with a handshake, and Shibata grabs the hand and lays in a kick. Shibata drops Nigel and lays in kicks on the mat. Nigel gets snapmares into the ropes as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Nigel has also been working the ankle on Shibata as Kyle did on Strong. They are trading uppercuts, and then Nigel stomps on Shibata’s foot. They go back and forth, and Shibata gets a guillotine choke. Nigel fights free and gets a vertical suplex. Nigel grabs a headlock and then lands blows on Shibata.
Shibata gets a rear naked choke and takes Nigel down. Nigel escapes with a cross leg on Shibata to work Shibata’s ankle until they break in the ropes. Nigel works over Shibata in the corner. Shibata tries to power up, and Nigel stops him and hits a cross strike to Shibata’s throat. Nigel tries for the Tower of London, but Shibata escapes the hold and gets the rear naked choke. Shibata releases the hold because of his ankle pain, and Nigel kicks Shibata’s ankle.
Nigel grabs an ankle lock. Shibata kicks free and goes for an O’Connor roll for two. Shibata gets a PK that hurts him as much as Nigel and covers for two. Shibata tries for the juji gitame and Nigel rolls through for two. Nigel grounds and pounds Shibata, and Shibata reverses it and does the same.
Shibata goes back to the rear naked choke. Nigel falls backward and rolls backward for the pin and the win.

In the back, Renee is with Will Ospreay, and he has to find two partners to take on the Don Callis Family. He says he has a difficult phone call to make, so he will be calling his friends in Japan. He says he will have conversations with Akira and Henare. The discussion with Callum Newman will be hard.
We get a hype video for Cope and Cage vs the Young Bucks at All In.
Lio Rush and The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed) vs The Already In The Ring Jeaux Braxton, Ice Williams, Frescomatic, and Watson.
This is a spotlight for Rush to do his weird stuff and the Rascalz to do their high-flying and multi-man moves. The crowd was chanting for Lio during the match. Lio grabs a mat guillotine on one of the Braxton team members whose name isn’t mentioned in the commentary. Sorry.

The Rascalz and Rush pass by the Hurt Syndicate, who are on their way to the ring, and Rush is freaked out by them.
Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Lee Moriarty and Shane Taylor vs The Already In The Ring Sonico, Willie Montana, RO Montana and Jake Redondo
This was a match to show us how the Hurt Syndicate and Shane Taylor Promotions are working together. After taking everyone out, the Hurt Syndicate goes to the back, and Moriarty and Taylor take over. Taylor hits the package piledriver on Redondo for the pin and the win.

We get a hype video of Tommaso Ciampa, who explains why he wants to win the Casino Gauntlet match.
Zayda Steel w/Christopher Daniels vs Mercedes Mone
Mone grabs a waistlock immediately, and Steel backs them into the corner. Mone misses a charge, and Steel gets a series of blows and then a rollup for one. Mone gets an elbow. Steel gets an arm drag, then a hip toss from bouncing off the middle rope for one. Steel gets a side headlock, and Mone shoves her down and misses a pair of stomps. Steel gets a lung blower in the ropes for two.
Mone gets a series of elbows and then a lung-blower of her own. Mone poses for the crowd and then grounds and pounds Steel. Mone covers for two. Mone gets a snapmare and grabs a rear chinlock. Steel elbows out of it and gets a casadora into a rollup that didn’t go well for two, as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Mone gets a snapmare and grabs a straightjacket on Steel’s arms. Steel works to her feet and gets a stunner to escape. Steel hits a Thesz press on Mone. Steel blocks Mone’s blows and hits her own. Steel gets a rear heel trip on Mone and then charges into her in the corner. Steel goes to the top and gets a flying crossbody for two.
Mone gets a back stabber and follows with the Money Maker into the Statement Maker, and Steel has to tap out.
Winner: Mercedes Mone.
Mone doesn’t let go until Daniels gets into the ring after the bell. Mone then takes the belt and attacks Daniels and then Steel with the belt. Willow Nightingale charges to the ring for the save and challenges Mone to a fight right now, with Mone having attacked her already this week. Willow says Mone knows Willow will beat her. Mone starts to leave, and Willow yells, “I’m still smiling, bitch!”
We get video from after Dynamite on Wednesday of Jack Perry covered in blood and saying he won’t go to the doctor because he doesn’t have time to bleed. He goes over what he feels he needs to do to go for the title. Swerve Strickland is there and says Perry isn’t ready to walk with killers like him. Perry says he is, and Swerve says to be careful about bringing a knife to a sword fight.
Next is a hype video for Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay for the World Title at All In. This leads to a promo from Kenny Omega, and he says he doesn’t like Don Callis, and he will face any of Callis’s guys in a six-man match with him and the Young Bucks. Cope and Cage show up and ask them if they are being smart facing someone before All In.
Omega leaves, and they have words.
Kyle O’Reilly vs Roderick Strong - Continental Cup Tournament Match
They lock up and they go to the ropes and break clean. Strong gives a chop, and they start with strikes and kicks before mat wrestling. They break with Strong in the ropes. Strong charges at Kyle, who gets a big boot on him and then gets a snapmare and a seated octopus hold. Kyle rolls back into the pin on Strong for two. Kyle gets a series of kicks and strikes before sweeping Strong’s leg. Kyle snaps Strong over his shoulder and then gets another snapmare with a kick to the back.
Kyle gets a series of uplift knees, and Strong gets a backbreaker. Strong slams Kyle into the corner and lays in chops. Strong gets a German suplex for two. Strong gets a headlock. Kyle fights free, but Strong dumps him over the top. Kyle grabs an ankle lock from the floor, and Strong kicks his way free. Strong gets a back breaker on the barricade as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Kyle has been working over Strong’s ankle and leg through the break. Strong runs into a big boot in the corner and Kyle gets a flying knee strike. Strong gets a back breaker, but his leg gives out. Strong goes for two. Strong gets chops in the corner and then tries for a suplex, but Kyle fights free and gets a kitchen sink kick to Strong.
Kyle lays in kicks and avoids a backbreaker and snaps Strong’s arm over his shoulder. Kyle gets a hanging guillotine and a triangle sleeper. Kyle rolls through to an ankle lock, and Strong gets to the ropes. Strong goes to the floor for a break, and Kyuel gets a running knee in front of the apron. He rolls Strong into the ring and goes to the top, but Strong joins him there. Strong gets a back breaker on the top turnbuckle,e and both men are down. Strong rolls onto Kyle for two.
They both get to their feet and throw hands until Kyle hits a comebacker lariat. Kyle gets a brain buster for two. Kyle tries to get the juji gitame, and Strong fights it off. Strong rolls over and makes it a pin for two. They throw strikes and kick until they are both down. Strong covers for two. They get to their feet and throw hands again. They trade waistlocks, and Kyle rolls through for the pin and the win.

A great match mixing grappling and striking. I love this kind of match, and it's well worth your time to seek it out.
After the match, Strong shoves Kyle down and then helps him up; they hug, and we are desperately out of time!
