Wrestling Open RI “Summer Stunner Night One”

Spotlight Match: Anthony Vecchio vs Kuro
Cranston is booing Kuro…because he’s facing Vecchio but Kuro comes to us from Paris, France, trained by Aigle Blanc. This could be VERY INTERESTING. Kuro embraces the boos and starts to grind Vecchio down after a couple of quick sequences. Kuro tries a tries of corner boots but Vecchio turns him inside out with a clothesline! Kuro tries a rainmaker but Anthony ducks it and hits the butterfly neckbreaker for the three! Solid match but I wanted to see more out of this.
Match 1: The Stetson Ranch (c) (Steven Stetson & Wonderboy Brian Morris) vs Ichicinco (Ichiban & Sammy Diaz) (for the Wrestling Open Tag Team Championships)
The hate for the Stetson Ranch may not be as VISCERAL as Worcester’s but they have become well hated in their own right here in Cranston too. Ichi and Diaz control the champs early, and even cut off their early attempts at chicanery. Stetson finally gets the momentum when he pluck Ichi out of a 111 on the outside and slingshots him into the post. The Ranch gives all the heat to Ichiban, utilizing an easily distracted Ref Scott to get lots of extra damage on. Ichiban finally with a tornado ddt on Stetson. Tag to Diaz, who cuts through the Ranch like a hot knife. Superkick party on Stetson and Morris when Ichi recovers! Ichicinco with the dive sequence! 111 on Morris. Springboard cutter! Double dive should do it but Stetson pulls Morris out of the ring before he can get pinned. Ichi slammed into the apron! Diaz eats a Midnight Special! Kick out! They try a super one but Diaz escapes…..top rope Rana to Morris! Stetson crotches Sammy on the buckle and he hits the north jersey lariat as Morris prevents Ichiban from making the save. Noooooooo!
The video cuts to a few months ago when The Stetson Ranch took out Aaron Ortiz of the Shooter Boys. Anthony Vecchio is out her to confront the Ranch! He was watching the match closely….and he wasn’t alone! Aaron Ortiz is BACK! They charge the ring and brawl with the Ranch! Stereo Germans! Lariats send the champs to the floor! Ortiz lets them know the obvious: The Shooter Boys are back and they are getting a Tag Team Title Match NEXT WEEK! They are not just looking to take the titles…they are looking to END THE RANCH!
Match 2: Devin Reno vs Bobby Casale (No Time Limit)
Casale charges the ring. He doesn’t wanna pose. He wants to finish what he started. Casale throwing bombs from his hands and feet’s. Devin trying to hang with this and getting overwhelmed. Bobby almost puts him to sleep but Reno runs his throat into the top rope. Reno gets his licks in on Casale, inside the ring and out. Bobby battles back and crumples Reno with a head kicks but is too exhausted to capitalize. Are we getting a double TKO? They make it up to start brawling. Bobby takes him to Suplex City. Pull-up powerslam! Kickout! He goes for a cross arm breaker! Reno fights out but gets caught in that sleeper again…big slam out! Both guys start hitting some wicked strikes that could end careers. Reno with a seated dropkick to the back of the neck! Casale rages up and just slaps him into retreat. Air raid crash for two! Bobby slaps on the sleeper….Devin trying to get free, turn it around, get out…he slaps his own Sleeper on…Bobby runs on the buckles flips over into a pinning position and gets the three!!!! Devin is shocked and chases Ref Tiger out to argue the decision! Bobby did it!!!!
Match 3: Dustin Waller vs Ricky Sosa
This is a hell of a debut for TNA’s Sosa, going against arguably our top workrate wrestler. This is a WILD match to see for $10 on a Monday. The crowd is HERE for the “bang bang, Sosa Sosa” and Dustin doesn’t wanna hear it. This is a ROUGH NIGHT at the office for Waller early on. He finally kicks the legs out of Sosa and has a moment to pretend like he’s been winning the whole time….and then Sosa hits a German, a bunch of elbows and a moonsault splash for two! The zero to a hundred factor on Sosa is CRAZY. He counters the lethal injection and smashes Waller down for two more. Dustin starting to get his timing though and is getting out of the way more often. He stuns Sosa with head kick and hits a slingshot lariat! They battle to the top…..big flipping combo…I don’t know who got the worst of that! Dustin manages to hit the lethal injection and a Flash Splash puts Sosa away. This was a grade-A certified banger.
Waller has words. He says Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill got lucky last week. He didn’t BEAT Dustin Waller. So next week, they’re having a pick your poison tag team match. Dustin is pretty sure that Ryan will pick Marcus Mathers….but he thinks everyone will be shocked by who he picks for Ryan’s partner.
Match 4: Bear Bronson(c) vs Oxx Adams (w/ BRG) (for the Wrestling Open Championship)
BRG says tonight isn’t about HIM. It’s about Oxx. Adams says tonight is the night he’s deserved since he’s gotten to Wrestling Open. Bear…he rides the wave of the crowd to the ring. Oxx may have beaten Bear a few weeks back but that doesn’t scare Bronson. “It’s MY time”. Bear shoved back to the buckles early as Adams won’t stop jawing. Bear shoulder tackles Oxx over and over, sending them to the floor to throw chops through the crowd. Adams makes a critical error and charges the post face first. Bear with an apron legdrop to the back! Bear starting to overwhelm Adams but here comes BRG to distract! Oxx recovers…Bear tries to slam him but can’t?!? Adams with a big slam on big bear! He stomps out the back of Bronson and won’t let the champ even breathe. He whips Bronson so hard the ring shifts. Oxx with a crossbody to the back! Bronson evades a Vader bomb! He drops the elbow for two! Oxx powers out of the chokebomb and hits it on Bear instead! This won him the match a few weeks ago but NOT WITH THE BELT ON THE LINE! Bear kicks out! Oxx wants a lariat but BRG demands that Oxx spear Bear in the back. And when Bronson moves? Oxx posts himself GOOD. Bear starting to throw punches with a staggered Adams and this is waking the animals in them up. Both throwing forearms and body attacks…Bronson slams Oxx! Adams is right back up but walks into the choking hands of Bear Bronson and the sitout chokebomb puts Oxx down for the three! This was a blast. Bear looking absolutely worn out by this contest and if ever there was a time for Dustin Waller to cash in….it would be now. But Bronson makes it to the safety of the locker room….for now. Good showing from Oxx, who just came off the the WWE Tryouts this weekend.
Main Event: Kylie Alexa(c) vs Liviyah (Street Fight for the Wrestling Open Women’s Championship)
Liviyah with a baseball slide to the back of Kylie during her entrance. It’s time to FIGHT! Liv just pummels her through the crowd by the hair. She throws Alexa in and grabs a chair. We’re Going right to it? Kylie gets the chair and it’s like the first time she’s ever held one? Her offense barely registers and Liv drags her back outside for another beating. Big slam to the apron and Liv heads to the back. Liv has a trash can? Kylie guts her with the chair and utterly pummels her with the trash can lid. Kylie drops her knee right into the chair. She smashes her back with the garbage can. Slam to the apron. Kylie is starting to feel the moment. She grabs more chairs…and a cookie sheet? Liviyah gets donked with the sheet. Senton into the sheet! Liv kicks out! Kylie grabs a door…Liv guts her with the door. Kylie trips her into the chair….Baseball swing with a chair into that chair. CRACK! Kick out! Liv drop toe holds Alexa into the steel. Cross body sends them over! Liv swinging down hard on Kylie’s back! Swinging cutter into the chair! Liv grabs her belt and whips Kylie with it! She chokes her with the belt…Kylie throw the garbage lid into her face and shoves her into a chair! The whole can is in the ring! She puts the can over Liv’s head! Dropkick! She sets it up against her head and hits another dropkick! Liv kicks out!!! The door gets set up in the corner…a bunch of near misses…Kylie hits the DVD into the wood! The struggle back up but this fight? They set up the chairs and it’s a bar fight! They slug back and forth. They swing garbage can lids and cookie sheets! They both have their belts and whip each other back and forth! Kylie lariats Liv over the top. Liv takes her legs out. Alexa escapes an apron piledriver! Liv tackles her into a chair! Liv tries for the pin….kick out! Liv gets a doormat up on the chairs. She puts Kylie on there…heads to the top….Kylie sabu’s her! She drags Liv back up…..Liv tries to reverse to a superplex….she settles for a buckle bomb….and then bombs Kylie through the door. She drags Alexa out for the kill but PARIS VAN DALE RUNS DOWN AND SPRAYS HER IN THE EYES WITH HAIRSPRAY!!! Kylie catches her and hits a piledriver into the chairs and gets the three. They stand above a fallen Liviyah and make fun of her as the show closes out. Who saw that coming?!?
