Looking at Summerslam, it seems pretty strange/disheartening the number of performers that were left off the show, who clearly should have been on it. With it being two nights, did WWE choose not to use the old "get everyone on the show" edict or is this just another sign of HHH losing some speed off his fastball? Damian Priest & R. Truth, The Vision, The Street Profits, Sol Ruca, Carmelo Hayes, Rey Mysterio, not on the show. Liv Morgan is the only female member of Judgement Day with a match (if there are shenanigans I guess Roxanne and Raquel will appear).
While I am someone who understands that not everyone can be on every show, when the company is doing two night events there is more space and I agree, they should have as many top names as possible to make the show more appealing. A lot of people that have been in prominent roles since WrestleMania have been left off the show.
But hey, " Human Monies on a Pole ".
Yeah, we have that. But to be fair, Danhausen is popular and sells merch so I won’t slay them for that.
It’s obvious that WWE needs to make changes to its creative and I think that Bruce Prichard and Michael Hayes need to be replaced. They are the equivalent of a football team having a bad offense or defense and still keeping the same coordinators despite how bad it is.
I agree that creative is nowhere near where it was but remember, both of those men were there when the product was on fire. Using the football comparison, it’s the head coach (HHH) not the coordinators.
Has Paul Levesque lost the shine he had when he took over for Vince?
All of it? No. His booking is still better than Vince’s was but it’s nowhere near what he was producing two years ago, and that’s on him. Maybe he is burned out. Maybe he is out of good ideas. Maybe he is being pulled in too many directions. Maybe it’s a bit of all of that. Whatever the case, he isn’t booking the way that he used to, no doubt about it.
And why didn’t he listen to the legitimate criticism people have of creative rather than being dismissive and clueless?
That’s the worst part of the situation. Anyone with eyes and ears can see that he has backslid. It’s sad that he won’t acknowledge that and work to get back to where he was.
