AEW Collision was recorded Wednesday night after Dynamite from The Pinnacle in Nashville, TN. Our Commentary Team is Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness, and Paul Wight
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Zachary Wentz w/Myron Reed and Dezmond Xavier
Ciampa attacks Wentz before the bell and then gets in Wight’s face on commentary. Wentz is able to get a PK from the apron and then a moonsault from the second rope to the floor. Ciampa is rolled into the ring, and the bell rings. Wentz beats down Ciampa in the corner and then goes to the top for a tornado for one.
Wentz gets an eye poke, but Wentz gets a Manhattan drop. Ciampa goes to the ramp to regroup, and Wentz hits him with a swanton from the top. Ciampa is tossed back into the ring, and Wentz goes for another swanton, but Ciampa gets the knees up. Ciampa charges into Wentz in the corner and then chokes him on the bottom rope.
Ciampa beats Wentz from the corner to the ropes. He poses for the crowd, and then they run the ropes. Wentz gets a back flip knee strike. Wetna gets a series of strikes. And then a flapjack and a suplex. Wetna gets a rolling PK and then a leaping cutter off the top for two. Ciampa runs Wentz into the top rope to choke him, and Wentz gets a series of kicks to take Ciampa down and then a leaping stomp. Wentz leaps off the second rope into a knee strike from Ciampa for two.
Wetna gets a rollup for two. Ciampa gets a heat seeker onto the ramp and then gets a running knee strike on the ramp. Wentz is rolled into the ring, and Ciampa hits another running knee for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa.
Ciampa grabs the mic and says he is better than Chris Jericho. He then uses a makeup pen to paint his face like the Painmaker. He then says the psycho killer is better than the Painmaker. He says the match with Jericho tomorrow will be violent.
Speedball Mike Bailey says he will win the ladder match at Redemption for a match for the International Championship, and he will take that title from the Don Callis Family.
The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta)
Jon Moxley joins commentary.
Yuta and Matt start the match and quickly go to running the ropes. Matt gets a spin kick and follows with an arm bar. Nick tags in and the Bucks double team Yuta. Garcia tags in and the Bucks take them down with stereo bulldogs. They try to give ten in the corner, but Matt is dumped to the floor, and Nick gets stomped down. Garcia gives ten in the corner on Nick and then teases his old dance.
Matt nails Garcia with a superkick, and then they work Garcia over in their corner. Nick dives onto Yuta. All four men fight in the ring, and it ends with Matt getting a Northern Lights suplex on both Death Riders at the same time. Matt beats down Garcia. Yuta grabs Matt from behind, and they work over Matt as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Matt has been the babyface in peril through the break. Matt is able to get a DDT on Garcia after a sliced break on Yuta. Nick gets the hot tag and runs wild. Matt is tagged in, and the Bucks hit stereo leaps off the top for two. The Bucks then hit a super kick party. This leads to a bunch of Young Buckery. Nick covers Yuta for two, broken up by Garcia.
Pac and Claudio Castagnoli come to the ring and distract the official and interfere, which allows Garcia to get a cover for two. As it goes on, Christian Cage and Coep attack Pac and Claudio. The Bucks hit the Meltzer Driver on Garcia for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Young Bucks.
The Bucks get in Mox’s face, and Will Ospreay hits a Hidden Blade from behind on the Bucks. Mox finishes the job with a Death Rider.
We get video of Kyle Fletcher and Brody King getting into it at San Diego Comic Con with Bandido joining in.
Persephone vs The Already In The Ring Angelica Risk
Risk is mouthy toward Persephone to start the match, but this is a match to remind us of Persephone’s move set. Persephone wins with a Crucifix Bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Persephone.
Lexi Nair is with Athena and MIT. Athena says that the Battling Birds attacking MIT means they will get one bullet for two birds.
The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Black Christian, and Lee Johnson) vs Sky Flight (Matt Sydal, Dante Martin, and Scorpio Sky)
The Demand and Jeff Jarrett are on commentary.
Matt starts with Lethal; Sydal picks the leg, but Lethal gets a shoulder tackle and follows with a strut. Sydal gets a Hurricanrana and a drop kick. Blake tags in and takes a hurricanrana. Scorpio tags in, as does Johnson. Scorpio gets arm drags, and they run the ropes. Blake tags in and that sets off the tag team alarm, and everyone is brawling in the ring. Sky Flight starts diving as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Sydal has been the babyface in peril through the break. Scorpio tags in and he takes Sydal’s place. Scorpio is able to get a small package on Johnson for two and then gets the hot tag to Dante, who cleans house. This leads to everyone getting a big move on the last person in the ring, ending with Dante getting a DDT on Johnson and then going to the top. Ricochet tries to interfere, but the ref sees it. This allows Johnson to hoist Dante, Blake gets a stomp on Dante from the top, and Johnson covers for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Lethal Twist
Nick Wayne vs AR Fox for an entry in the Ladder Match tomorrow for a shot at the International Championship.
Jarrett stays on commentary as The Demand have left.
Nick attacks before the match. They fight in the corner, and Fox gets a tejaris and then sends him into the ropes and follows with a rolling neckbreaker. Nick is able to get a big boot up in the corner, and they fight through the ropes. Nick gets a suplex on Fox. Fox rolls to the floor, and Nick follows him. Nick sends Fox into the barricade. He then puts Fox in a chair and charges, but Fox gets a leaping knee strike.
Fox leads Nick to the ring, but Nick sweeps the legs as Fox is on the steel steps, and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, they are fighting on the apron, and Fox gets a twisting suplex from the apron to the floor. Fox rolls Nick into the ring, hits a package power bomb for two. Fox gets a back elbow in the corner, but Nick is able to get a snapdragon in the middle of the ring. Fox gets a mule kick and follows with an iconoclasm front-flip into a cutter. Fox gets a swanton for a pair of two counts.
Fox gets a drop kick. Fox puts Nick on top and joins him. They fight on top, and Nick hits sliced bread from the top. Nick gets a spin kick and follows with a Prodigy Plex Two for the pin and the win.
Winner: Nick Wayne
In the back, Darby Allin cuts a promo on Kevin Knight and asks how far he is willing to go.
The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong) AEW Trios Champions) vs The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and Dalton Castle
Truth and Cassidy start up, and when they lock up, Truth shoves him back. They do that again, and Cassidy ducks the next lock-up and puts his hands in his pockets. Truth gets a headlock and then a shoulder tackle. Cassidy gets a drop kick and then strikes a musical pose. He and Truth have a pose-off. Kyle and Strong put Cassidy on their shoulders. Turbo and Dayon do the same with Truth. This leads to all six men brawling in the ring as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Cassidy has been the babyface in peril. I just noticed that Turbbo is wrestling with his Ring of Honor Six-Man title belt on. The Conglomeration all join in and set for Cassidy to set for him slow elbow drop on Dalton. This leads to all six men fighting in the ring again. Strong tags in and uses Cassidy as a battering ram on the Outrunners and then drops him on Dalton for two.
Kyle tags in and gets a series of knee strikes on Dalton. Turbo tags in and when Kyle goes for a kitchen sink, he hurts his knee on Turbo’s belt. Strong stars chops and hurts his hand on the belt. Cassidy avoids an axe handle off the second turnbuckle and then hits the soft kicks. Turbo tries to run Cassidy into the belt, and instead they slam Cassidy and hit the double biceps drop.
This leads to a sequence where each person takes out the last person in the ring until Dalton and Cassidy get a DDT on Dalton. Turbo gets a small package on Cassidy for two. Turbo tries for a sunset flip, and Cassidy drops down for the pin and the win.
Winners and still Trios Champions: The Conglomeration.
After the match, The Lethal Twist and the Demand hit the ring to attack both the Conglomeration and the Outrunners, and Dalton Castle. The Babyfaces take control and hold Ricochet as Jeff Jarrett comes to the ring to nail Ricochet with a guitar shot.
We get a promo from Jungle Jack Perry, who says he will be the one to win the ladder match, but Nick Wayne interrupts him and says Perry has opportunities handed to him, but he has had to fight for his. He then says he will hurt Perry in the process. Perry says he is proud of Nick for earning his chance because he doesn’t have his sugar daddy anymore.
Blackheart Lio Rush vs El Clon for an entry in the Ladder Match tomorrow for a shot at the International Championship.
Rush is carrying a blacked-out title belt.
They run the ropes after an odd faceoff. Rush goes for a choke, and they then go for chops. They go back and forth with attempts at holds. They go to the floor, and Rush slams Clon’s head into the announcer's desk and then rolls Clon into the ring for two. Rush looks to have been busted open by his eye.
Clon goes to the top, and he ties Rush’s hand in the tag rope before getting a running kick as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Rush hits a pop-up power bomb for two. Rush goes to the top and misses, but Clon gets a Pele kick and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. Rush gets a stunner and follows with quick slaps and a spin kick, sending Clon to the floor. Rush gallops around the ring and dives. Clon is rolled into the ring, and Rush gets a rebound stunner for two.
They go back and forth with strikes, and Rush gets a rollup for two. Clon reverses for a rollup, holding the ropes for the pin and the win.
Winner: El Clon
Clon attacks Rush after the bell, and Speedball Mike Bailey hits the ring for the save. Komander shows up and runs the ropes into a dive onto Clon.
We then get a video package to hype Kenny Omega vs. Kevin Knight for the world title tomorrow night.
Then there is a video hyping the Dogs vs the Bang Bang Gang in a double chain match at Redemption.
Maya World and Willow Nightingale vs Hikaru Shida and Thekla
Maya is carrying Shida’s Kendo stick.
Shida and Maya start, and Shida beats down Maya and covers for a one count. Maya rolls to the floor to regroup, and Willow is with her. Thekla attacks Willow from behind. Thekla and Maya brawl on the floor as Willow and Shida do the same. Thekla and Shida take control and hit stereo suplexes on the floor.
Maya is rolled into the ring, and Thekla is getting chants as she gets in the ring. Thekla and Shida give Willow and Maya ten in the corner. Then Willow and Maya give the clotheslines in the corner. Willow gets a double lariat on Thekla and Shida as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Maya has been the babyface in peril through the break. Maya gets an insigiri on Shida and tags in Willow, who works over Shida. Willow gets a spinebuster for two, broken up by Thekla. Shida gets an eye poke into a small package for two. Thekla grabs Willow from the apron, and Shida gets a knee strike and a falcon arrow for two, broken up by Maya. Maya and Shida throw hands and get a roll through into a double stomp. Thekla gets an elbow strike on Maya and Willow drops Thekla. Shida drops Willow with a running knee, and all four women are down.
Thekla and Maya tag in and Thekla gets a spin kick and is sent to the floor by Maya. Shida gets in the ring, and Willow tosses her to the floor. Willow misses a cannonball from the apron, but Maya dives into Shida and Thekla. Thekla is rolled into the ring and has her title belt. The ref takes it away from her, and when Maya tries to go to the top, Shida nails Maya with a kendo stick. Thekla hits the spear on Maya for the pin and the win.
Winners: Hikaru Shida and Thekla
