This week’s episode of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem is from St Clair College in Windsor Ontario. Our commentary team is Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo.
The show starts with a video recap of last week’s premiere episode.
The 1st Faction (Brent Banks and Sheldon Jean) w/Bryce Hansen MPL Tag Team Champions vs Mascara Dorado and Capitan Suicida
Capitan and Jean start. Jean drops Capitan to the mat, mocks Capitan, and then tags in Banks. Banks also mocks Capitan, who grabs his hand and they trade arm bars. Capitan gets an arm drag, and Banks follows with a kick. Capitan is sent to his own corner, and Dorada is tagged in. Dorada gets a quick series of attacks, and when Jean gets into the ring, Dorada is able to attack him as well.
The 1st Faction is sent to the floor. Jean grabs Dorado’s foot and drags him to the floor. Capitan is left in the ring, and 1st Faction works him over with quick tags and cutting the ring in half as we go to commercial.
When we return, Capitan is still the babyface in peril. As Capitan and Jean go back and forth, Jean sends Capitan to his own corner. Dorada tags in, setting off the tag team siren, and all four men are in the ring fighting. 1st Faction is sent to the floor, and both Dorada and Capitan dive onto them. 1st Faction are rolled into the ring, and we get stereo dives by Dorada and Capitan from the top for two counts.
Hanson gets on the apron, and this allows Jean to dump Capitan to the floor. Jean gives Dorada a boot to the face and a drop kick. Dorada charges at Jean, who gives a back body drop to the floor, where Banks dives onto them. Jean gets a Cage Control stunner for two on Capitan. Capitan goes to the top, where Jean joins him. They fight back and forth, and Jean is knocked to the floor, and Banks goes to the top and is knocked to the floor.
Jean is able to get a back elbow on Dorada and sends him to the floor. Hansen pushes Capitan off the top, and Capitan gets a drop kick on Jean out of it. Jean gets a spinning slam on Capitan for the pin and the win.
Winners and still Tag Team Champions: 1st Faction.
We then get a Dani Luna hype video to let us know who she is. It also has brief interviews with the tag team Subculture (Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster). They are positioned as underdogs who are trying to prove themselves, and Subculture is there to support her.
We are told that Stu Grayson has been placed in concussion protocol as a result of the attack by Rohan Raja last week.
TJP talks about how he will face Johnny TV later tonight and show him that not everything is a reality show.
Dani Luna vs Vanna Black
Both of these wrestlers are making their debut, and MLP Women's Champion Giselle Shaw joins commentary.
They lock up, and Dani forces them to the corner, and they break with Vanna running out of the corner. They lock up again, and Luna uses an arm bar to take Vanna. Vanna works to her feet and gets a flurry of offense and a two count until Luna gets a shoulder tackle. Vanna trips Luna into the corner and then a snap mare. Vanna gets a basement drop kick for two. Luna whips Vanna to the corner. Luna gets a belly-to-belly suplex for two.
Luna gets a scoop slam and a leg drop. Luna gets an arm bar with a neck twist. Vanna works free and gets a jaw breaker. Vanna gets a casadora followed by a big boot. Vanna gets a lung blower for two. Luna is able to get a sling shot power bomb for two. Luna hoists Vanna, gets a power bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Dani Luna
In the back, Luna and Subculture celebrate Luna’s victory, and Luna says she doesn’t grovel for title shots and she knows if she gets Shaw in the ring, she would be her downfall.
We then get a promo from Rohan Raja saying Stu Grayson has a target on his back and he challenges him for the title.
Johnny TV vs TJP
They lock up and go to waistlocks, arm bars and headlocks. They run the ropes, and TJP gets an arm drag. They each miss elbow drops and then hit simultaneous kicks. And retreat to the corners to reset. They lock up again as we go to commercials.
When we return, TV has a straightjacket hold on TJP. TJP bridges out and grabs an octopus stretch. He rolls it into a pin for two. TJP gets a drop toehold and snaps TV’s arm. TJP goes to work on TV’s arm. TV whips TJP into the ropes, where TJP swings through the ropes and grabs TV through the ropes from the apron. TV gets a scorpion kick and then a megabuster on the apron.
TV slams TJP’s head into the apron repeatedly. TV puts on his Meta glasses for attacks on the floor and then drops TJP on the apron. TV has a kid use the Meta glasses for an attack and then puts them back on as he rolls TLP into the ring. TV hits a kick and then beats down TJP in the corner. TV gets an airplane spin and then gets a back elbow on TJP as we go to commercials.
When we come back, TJP gets a drop kick as TV is adjusting his Meta glasses. TJP puts on the glasses and hits a triangle kick on TV in the ropes. TV gets a rollup for two as TJP is looking around with the glasses. TV gets a backbreaker followed by a Russian leg sweep, and the ref takes the Meta glasses. TV gets a series of knees and then kicks in the corner. He grabs a butterfly stretch on TJP. TJP works to his feet and flips out of the hold.
They fight in the corner. TJP ends it with a tarantula, breaking on four. TJP gets a tornado DDT, and both men are down. TJP gets a back elbow in the corner, and then a series of face washes on TV. TJP goes to the top, and TV dodges a leap. TV hits a disaster kick and goes to the top for a split legged moonsault, which TJP avoids. TJP gets an arm capture submission, but TV gets to the ropes.
They throw strikes and kicks, and both men are down again. They work to their feet and try for big moves, but neither can connect until TV gets a tornado kick and a knee strike. TV goes to the top, and TJP drops him down. TJP goes to the top and hits a double stomp. TJP hits a Detonation kick for two. TJP goes to the top, and TV dodges the splash. TV gets a twisting neckbreaker and hits Starship Pain for the pin and the win.
Winner: Johnny TV
We get a rundown of the matches for next week as we leave the Great White North.
