There were three non-televised matches before WWE NXT went live on The CW and internationally on Netflix.
Brooks Jensen defeated Viktor Zanov via referee stoppage. Brooks hit with Viktor with a kick and Viktor went down with the referee stopping the match. Shawn Michaels also down to the ring and medical checked on Viktor running tests on him. Viktor was very angry when he came to his senses lunging toward a referee and was able walk out on his own. This definitely threw people off and felt unplanned. They played Brooks’s music as he walked to the back but did not formally announce him as the winner. Viktor seemed a bit loopy as they ran the tests. The portion with the referee may have been more in character for him so it may have been more of a rung bell rather than an overall knockout, thankfully, but they absolutely operated on the side of caution.
Skylar Raye defeated Meghan Walker (announced as Meghan Walker after recently receiving the name Kylee Quinn.)
Elijah Holyfield defeated Harley Riggins.
