Kerry Morton vs. Axton Ray
Morton worked over Ray's arm early on. Ray reversed but Morton rolled out of the move. Ray used a Fireman's Carry takeover but Morton cinched in a headscissors. Ray reversed it, slammed Morton and nailed a dropkick for a two count. Ray missed a charge into the corner but drilled Morton. He went to the ropes but Kerry pulled him down. Morton smashed the back of his head into the mat several times and demanded the referee tell Ray to quit the match. Morton nailed a slingshot suplex. He went for a charging kick but Ray blocked it. Ray hit a series of offensive maneuvers after moonsaulting over a charging moonsault. Morton was nailed with a springboard forearm. Ray went for a powerbomb but Morton raked his face. Morton blocked the referee's view and lowblowed Ray, then finished him off with a running knee strike.

Solid bout. Morton's arrogance as a heel always shines. Ray looked good against him.
Morton cut a promo after, asking the crowd how great he is and said he is the man in the company. He promised he was going to win the NWA title. He said Thrillbilly was a whiny b**ch. Silas Mason charged the ring. Morton ran into the crowd and grabbed a chair. He told Mason that he turned on Morton. Mason said Morton had a yellow streak. He can run but he can't hide, because next week, they are fighting one on one. Good promo from Mason.
The Slimeballz said it's their duty to defend against young tag teams, so they are offering four teams the chance to face them at Hard Times.
Before the match, they went to a clip from a training sesson earlier today with Aron Stevens, Joe Cazana and Brandon McCord bantering. It was silliness, in a good way.
NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Slimeballz's Invitational: Death Row Milita vs. Jeff Paul & Tyler Stevens vs. Top Team vs. The Hardway.
The match was a backdrop for The Slimeballz to do commentary. The Hardway won the belts.
Carson Drake interviewed Kerry Morton on his "podcast", which never has any microphones on camera. Drake said he's the best guest he's ever had. He said Morton was the backbone of The Southern Six and asked about challenging Thrillbilly for the NWA title next week. Morton said he's not here to be liked, he's just here. He's traveled all over the country and everyone knows what he's capable of. Morton said he's ready for Mason, as "they don't make them like this anymore." He said he's what's best for business.
Kyle Davis interviewed Magic Jake Dumas and welcomed him back to the NWA. Dumas said he's been gone for a long time and he doesn't remember anyone, including Billy Corgan, reaching out to him. He gave them magic and they gave him silence. He said that anyone with the stones to lace boots can come out and see if magic is real.
Magic Jake Dumas vs. Chico Adams.
Adams tried to rile up the crowd for his entrance but was quickly taken down by Dumas and was dumped to the floor. Dumas tossed Adams back into the ring and kicked him hard in the chest. He nailed a Rude Awakening style neckbreaker for the pin.

The idea was that Dumas was angry and out to show everyone they should be paying attention to him.
They ran a promo for the 78th anniversary event on 7/25 in Philadelphia.
Carson Drake with Aron Stevens vs. Richard Adonis.
Drake showed some nice arrogance coming to the ring and slapped Adonis. He took Adonis down to the mat but Adonis reversed it and kept riding him to the mat every time Drake tried to get his footing. Drake backed him into the corner and nailed a back elbow. Drake attacked the leg and kept kicking at it. He used the ropes to come down across the leg. Carson tried to whip Adonis across the ring but Adonis' knee gave out. Adonis kept fighting, so I guess he has that over Conor McGregor. Adonis attempted a small package and followed up with a double stomp. Aron Stevens nailed him with a loaded glove while the referee was distracted. Drake scored the pin after a Stroke.

Drake shows lot of potential. As he matures, he could be a player.
Backstage, Aron Stevens congratulated Carson Drake on the win. Wrecking Ball Legursky showed up holding The Slimeballz and said if they didn't let him join them, he'd pop their heads. Stevens said he didn't care because he'd still get paid off their contracts. They begged for help and came off silly and not in the good way. Stevens and Drake said No. Legursky revealed The Slimeballz were in cahoots with him and since it didn't work, they were all going to get ice cream. Uh, OK.
The Royal Court's Mike Knox & Tyler Franks with King Trevor Murdoch vs. Pretty Boy Smooth & Hayden Backlund with The Pastor
Backlund controlled Franks early on. Backlund accidentally nailed his own partner, allowing Franks to then nail him from behind. They get back on the same page and work over Backlund. Smooth stomped away at Franks in the corner. He picked up and slammed Franks, then hit a splash in the corner. The cameras went to Murdoch's boots for some reason. Smooth knocked Knox off the apron. Franks fired back with a knee strike but there was no one for him to tag. He got chokeslammed and hit with a legdrop for a two count.
Smooth cinches in a bearhug. Franks tried to fight back and finally claps the ears. He almost made a tag but Backlund took him out. Franks faked him out and tagged out to Knox. Knox controlled the ring and knocked Smooth to the floor. He nailed a high cross bodyblock on Franks. Franks charged but was caught and hit with a sit-out slam for the pin.

They announced Alex Taylor will be the guest referee for next week's NWA title bout and showed highlights of everything leading to Silas Mason vs. Kerry Morton next week to close out the show.
