For as long as I can remember the late Randy "Macho Man" Savage had this very deep and powerful voice. Did he always have that? In other words did he always talk like that even behind closed doors? I know when we reach a certain age our voice eventually changes. I can't believe his sounded like that when it happened to him.
Randy Savage's actual voice was very gruff and since he was a pretty intense person, that was pretty much his actual voice.
One aspect of TNA I've liked lately is the inserted promos on the TNA Knockouts as they come to the ring for their Knockouts TV Tournament matches. It feels like a throwback to the old WWF TV shows. Your thoughts?
I would agree. It gives them each a moment to explain who they are, why they think they are great and will win. I am all for anything that makes the audience understand characters and their motivations better is a smart idea, especially for newer talents or those floating in the undercard.
I was very impressed with Harley Hudson in her match with Thea Hail. Where is she from and who trained her?
Hudson lives in Florida currently but is originally from the UK. She originally trained with The Runcorn Wrestling Academy and in recent years, has been mentored by Ace Steel. I agree she has a lot of potential and I think she's got a great look.
Was Harley Race really tough in real life?
Yes, there are lots of stories of Race's toughness. Mick Foley wrote quite a bit about it in his first book.
Where is Drew McIntyre?
Making a movie. The expectation is he'd return in some form to WWE programming after Summerslam.
Watching SNME this week made me want to go see a show at Madison Square Garden. What's your advice for the best seats?
Unless you have your heart set on sitting in the front row, to me, I always appreciate one level up, usually sections 110 or 117 as they are centered with the ring and you are high enough to watch everything happening below on the floor as well. if you intend to visit, there's a nice behind the scenes MSG tour that happens most days in the afternoon as well.
Have you ever been backstage at WWE? In their HQ? At the Performance Center? On their Jet?
