I was just getting ready to send you a question about Sheamus and his return date when I read your account. Former WWE Champion Sheamus has turned down a new contract offer and will be exiting the company. Do you think he will do a program in WWE before his contract expires? Do you know when his contract expires? Do you see him going anywhere else or will this be his retirement?
It’s a real shame that a guy like Sheamus gets lowballed, but the same thing was true of The New Day. WWE is all about dollars and cents now, and that’s sad. I am not sure of the exact date of his contract’s expiration but I am under the impression he is in the 90 day window at this point. WWE moves him to the Alumni section and given he is coming off of an injury that has kept him out since last year, I doubt they would take the chance of having him get injured on their watch. I honestly don’t know what his future holds. If I were Tony Khan, I would definitely reach out to him.
Who do you guys think wins the Rollins vs Reigns match SummerSlam?
I think Reigns will go over here, with the caveat being that he is sticking around. If he is going on another break, then it would make sense to flip the belt to Rollins.
Alex Wright was young, athletic and good looking…Why didn’t he catch on better than he did?
I think it was that he wasn’t overly charismatic and also that WCW saddled him with a bad gimmick. The techno stuff was terrible.
I am not an Elite member. What was the lesson you said that Triple H could learn from Tony Khan?
Mike Epsenhart and I talked about how Khan has done a great job of controlling his narrative of late. He has been very professional when talking about things that WWE has done that he could have easily acted out on if he chose to. Triple H, on the other hand, did an interview where he came off really badly when talking about fans being critical of his booking.
