DAMIAN PRIEST DEBUTS: 7/4 AAA LUCHA LIBRE TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2026-07-05 10:11:00

This week's AAA Lucha Libre opened with AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio addressing the fans in the arena. Mysterio spoke about AAA's legacy as the home of the biggest stars in lucha libre and said the company's vision is now to become the destination for the biggest wrestling stars in the world. He then introduced WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.

Mysterio spoke of Priest's accomplishments, including multiple tag team title reigns, the United States Championship and the World Championship. Priest said he has competed for over 20 years on the biggest stages and defeated many of the world's best wrestlers, but he has never conquered AAA. He praised the promotion's history and prestige before declaring that he came to AAA to dominate and warning every champion on the roster that they would soon become familiar with him.

Corey Graves, JBL and Rey Mysterio are the announcing team this week.

Lady Shani vs. AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer (non title)

Shani controlled early with a series of takedowns and headscissors before Flammer cut her off with kicks and took over the match. Flammer repeatedly attacked Shani in the corners and stretched her mask while maintaining control. Shani eventually mounted a comeback with clotheslines, armdrags and a near fall before the two exchanged several quick pinning combinations.  Flammer attempted to bring the Reina de Reinas Championship belt into the ring, but La Catalina appeared to stop her. This allowed Shani to hit a backstabber followed by an Iconoclasm from the top rope to score the upset victory.

Your winner, Lady Shani!

Catalina held up the Reina de Reinas Championship.

They aured a video recapping last week of Pagano.

Psycho Clown vowed revenge on whoever was responsible and apologized to Pagano for previously suspecting him at the attacker.

El Grande Americano challenged Perros del May to meet him next week in San Luis Potosí and said he would not be coming alone.  Chad Gable returns?

Mr. Iguana & La Parka vs. Dinámico & Drago vs. Money Machine

Lots of rapid tags and high flying offense early. Colmillo attempted to bribe Mr. Iguana with money but his mascot Yesca bit the cash, leading into Iguana's trademark offense.  Drago and Dinámico delivered several impressive dives while Money Machine displayed effective tandem offense.  La Parka stood out late in the contest with several unique athletic counters before Drago nearly picked up the win with a top-rope crossbody. Parka escaped a frog splash attempt with a cutter and immediately followed with the Bone Breaker to pin Drago.

Your winners, Mr. Iguana & La Parka!

This was an entertaining and fun.

AAA aired a classic highlight from the 2009 Verano de Escándalo event featuring Dr. Wagner Jr., El Mesías and Cibernético.

Rey Mysterio praised Damian Priest as someone who represents the Latin wrestling culture despite being Puerto Rican, noting Priest grew up as a fan of Mexican wrestling. Rey declined to answer questions regarding El Grande Americano and Los Perros del Mal.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro Jr.

Fiscal gained the early advantage with a backstabber and running senton. Abismo rallied with a suplex and later took control after sending Fiscal into the ring post on the floor.  The momentum continued to swing until Karmen Petrovic appeared at ringside.   Los Perros del Mal's Angel, Berto, Daga and Bronco Nima all hit the ring and attacked Fiscal.

Your winner, by DQ, El Fiscal!

Perros del Mal continued beating down Fiscal before standing tall to end the show.
