JANEL GRANT STATES GRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF HER ALLEGED ABUSE WAS SHARED WITHOUT HER CONSENT DURING WWE BOARD OF DIRECTORS INVESTIGATION INTO VINCE MCMAHON

By Mike Johnson on 2026-07-03 09:05:00

On her Instagram account yesterday, over the course of two postings, former WWE employee Janel Grant posted excerpts from depositions from the WWE shareholders lawsuit that showed material related to her alleged abuse at the hands of Vince McMahon was shared without her consent during the WWE Board of Directors investigation into McMahon.  Grant wrote:

"What I know: In 2022, I believed in good faith that I was participating in a company’s publicly announced investigation. I spent six figures on retainers and medical care. I onboarded a legal team. We spent months of time preparing for an investigation that closed without speaking to me.

What I didn’t know: I learned some things about my past that I didn’t know before while reading public documents from a shareholder’s case.

Without my knowledge and without my consent, explicitly graphic evidence was produced to a special committee as part of this investigation. These photos and exchanges, described in plurals, depict me in some vulnerable and/or compromisting way.

The nature of this evidence? Descriptors in documents include “s*xual”

“very graphic language and photos”, “something that looks more like s*xual abuse”

“tr*fficking”, “nefarious” and…

Without my knowledge and without my consent, this evidence was duced, viewed, distilled into graphic summaries, and read out to then current members of the Board of Directors, including some in positions of upper management, and future board members.

I didn’t know any of this until now.

Nobody told me. Nobody told my attorneys (despite the active communications between attorneys). Put aside not speaking with me…

Why weren’t we notified that this was produced?

Why were we not told how it was being used?

Who saw this evidence?

Who got read outs?

Where are copies of these images and read outs saved?

Why am I sharing this? 1 don’t want anything remotely like this to happen to anyone else. To see this gives us the ability to clear it, heal from it, address the systems/cultures that enabled it, and create holistic solutions to better support and protect the rights of people.

Safety matters. Dignity matters. How we treat each other matters."

The Instagram posting features an excerpt from a Nick Khan deposition that he agreed with Vince McMahon retiring and stepping away from the day to day operations of WWE and that Khan himself recommended the same to McMahon.

Grant's lawsuit against McMahon and WWE alleges “that McMahon lured her with promises of career advancement, and then he allegedly exploited her and trafficked her to other men inside the company.”   Grant signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2022 with McMahon, agreeing to a payment of $3 million to not publicly disparage him or to discuss their relationship.  She alleges in the suit that he stopped making payments after $1 million, one third of the agreement, was received.  Her lawsuit has been seeking to void the NDA and additional financial damages.

In another posting, Grant wrote the following:

"THE READOUTS

I didn't know that graphic evidence was produced to a special committee as part of an investigation in 2022.

Here's what I learned about it from public douments in 2026.

The following happened without my knowledge and without my consent.

This evidence contains very graphic photos and exchanges that depict me in some vulnerable an/or compromising way (I didn't know)

This evidence was exchanged between others (???) and was produced to a special committee (nobody told me)

This evidence was viewed by others (how many?) and distilled into graphic summaries (nobody told me)

This evidence was read out to then-current board members (how many? all of them?), including some in positions of upper management (again, how many of them?), and future board members between fall/winter 2022 into 2023 (how much further did it go? I don't know)

My knowledge is limited to public documents.

Again, I don't want anything remotely like this to happen to anyone else"

The material in that excerpts refer to both Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar.    In the lawsuit, Grant alleges that McMahon attempted to traffic her to Lesnar as part of him agreeing to a new deal with the company and showcases texts between the two, including Lesnar requesting Grant sent him an explicit video.

On 6/10, The United States District Court of Connecticut canceled all scheduled hearings related to Janel Grant's lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon today after all sides filed a joint motion asking the case to move to arbitation yesterday.  Judge Sarah F. Russell has ordered all parties to provide an update to the court no later than 7/10.
