ULTIMATE X, TRIBUTE TO JOE DOERING: LIVE, ONGOING TNA SLAMMIVERSARY COVERAGE FROM BOSTON

By Mike Johnson on 2026-06-28 15:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing TNA Slammiversary 2206 PPV coverage from The Agganis Arena in Boston, MA!

A personal note before we begin: One of my oldest and dearest friends, Valeria, has been battling metastatic breast cancer for several years. She is an absolute warrior but all warriors sometimes need help. I am asking if you can, to please assist her as her medical expenses after years of fighting continue to rise as she also needs financial help getting additional training for her therapy dog Balu, who has been an incredible assistant to her as she deals with side effects of treatments.  Valeria is one of those amazing people you need in life who not only lights up the room, she empowers everyone around her. She's immediately your best friend but also takes no sh** from anyone. Not you, not me, and especially not cancer.  She's the best and I can't even begin to convey how important she has been for me when I've needed someone there for me. Well, now it's time to be there for her.  I know we all have stuff going on, but if there's any way you can assist her, I'd be extremely grateful and will owe you one.  Here's the link to her GoFundMe. Thank you for reading and considering assisting her: https://gofund.me/667e1a417

SLAMMIVERSARY COUNTDOWN SHOW

TNA opened with a spanning shot of the arena and showed quite a few empty seats to start.

They introduced a gentleman named Eric Dunn, who sang the national anthem.

Matt Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan dedicated the show to the memory of Joe Doering.

They introduced Daria Rae and then discussed the Knockouts title bout before going to a video package on Xia Brookside vs. Lei Ying Lee.

They noted TNA Hall of Famer Traci Brooks would be joining them later.

Gia Miller interviewed several fans about the match.  They all picked Xia Brookside, which I guess proves Boston is a heel town!

Elayna Black vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Mara Sade

The referee is Frank Gastineau.

Indi and Mara try to team on Black early on and knock her from the ring.  So, we're doing the usual formula.  With Black out, the others locked up and battled back and forth.  Sade nailed a Slingblade but Black returned to break it up.  She was very vocal in saying she runs TNA and drilled Indi with a big knee strike.  Black controlled the ring, stomping away at each of her opponents and scoring near falls.  Indi escaped a charge in the corner and nailed a big spinebuster.  Mara broke up the pinfall and hit an inverted facebuster.  She nailed a sit-out powerbomb on Black but Indi broke it up.  Sade sent her opponents to the floor and nailed a pescado.  Black caught Sade with a DDT and scored the pin.

Your winner, Elayna Black!

Traci Brooks came out and announced the promotion would be instituting a Knockouts TV title.  They will kick off a tournament this Thursday.

They pushed the Knockouts Tag Team title bout and then ran a video feature on Elijah vs. AJ Francis.

They discussed the TNA title bouts that will be taking place tonight.  When they began discussing the International title, out came Champion Mustafa Ali and Tasha Steelz.  Daria said that he will indeed have a match tonight.  Santino Marella came out.  He said that while Daria was looking for an opponent, Marella found one.  Since they each found an opponent, there will be a Triple Threat match but Ali won't find out who his opponents are until match time.

Eric Young vs. Ricky Sosa

Sosa looked strong early and hit a top rope dropkick that sent Young to the floor, then followed up with a dive over the ropes.  Sosa covered him for a two count.  Sosa and Young battled on the top with Young nailing a DVDR into the ring below.  He cvered Sosa for a two count.  Sosa came back to nail a series of offensive maneuvers, including a big moonsault from the top for a two count.  Young worked over Sosa but missed a moonsault from the top.  Sosa nailed a sit-out Michinoku Driver for a two count.   Sosa surprised Young with his finisher, The Thunderbang and pinned Young clean.

Your winner, Ricky Sosa!

Good match.  Young's work is always impeccable and he's always in the right place at the right time as a heel.  Sosa fighting to overcome him was fun to watch.  A nice spotlight.

The ring crew is setting up the cables, so The Ultimate X match will open the PPV.

Ace Steel joined the announcers to discuss the TNA Title match tonight.  Steel predicted Nic Nemeth wins tonight.

They closed out the countdown running down the card.

TNA SLAMMIVERSARY 2026

The PPV opened with the roster assembled at the entrance stage as they held a ten bell salute for Joe Doering.

Cody Deaner addressed the audience.  He said if you were Joe Doering's friend, you were his friend for life.  He had the passion to pursue professional wrestling even though it meant time away from his family and friends.  His true strength was his heart.  He got to be his partner in a TNA ring.  Joe refused that his career was over after a brain tumor was removed.  Joe proved to everyone that if you have true strength in your heart, you can do anything you want.  Deaner said a few weeks ago, he sat with his friend to say goodbye in the hospital.  Tonight, they all say thank you Joe.  The crowd chanted, "Thank you Joe."  He said they are going to bring all their passion to the ring and said, "Joe, this is for you."  Very classy segment and a wonderful tribute.

The PPV opened with a history package on the company.

The crowd looks to have filled in from earlier.

Ultimate X: X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander vs. Leon Slater vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Mr. Elegance vs. KC Navarro vs. Fabian Aichner vs. The Amazing Red

They all battled at the bell,  Leon worked over Cedric on the floor.  KC hit a pescado on everyone.  Aichner then hit a big dive.  The crowd chanted for TNA.  Red and Kazarian battled.  Red hit a dive onto everyone.  Red tried to ascend to the cables but Alexander grabbed him and nailed a Michinoku Driver.  Cedric tried to climb up but Navarro shoved him and he was crotched on the top rope.   Navarro nailed a 619 on Slater.  He started to climb the structure and made his way across the cables but was pulled down by Slater.  They battled to the apron, where Navarro was tossed towards Aichner and hit him with a DDT.

Elegance tackled Slater on the floor outside and tried to climb up the structure.  Aichner sent him into the steel.  A number of competitors climbed up and across the cables.  Alexander was knocked down and he swung, Aichner, who took a back bump from the cables.  Kazarian and Red were pulled down and battled.  This left Elegance alone and he made his way across but was pulled down by KC.  KC nailed an Acid Drop.  He and Red faced off.  He went for a Code Red but Red maneuvered out of it.  Red hit a twisting DDT and a Code Red of his own.  He then nailed one on Kazarian.

Red battled to the top.  Slater met him in the corner and set up for a superplex.  Red turned it into a Code Red.  Alexander snatched Red and slammed him outside on the apron.  He and Kazarian battled.  Kazarian hit a springboard off the ropes to grab the cables.  Aicher leapt and took him out with a springboard crossbody.
