As PWInsiderElite.com reported yesterday, WWE Hall of Famer and former Smackdown Creative head Road Dogg Brian James is expected to be in attendance at this Sunday's TNA Slammiversary PPV in Boston, PWInsiderElite.com can confirm.
We are told he was initially pitched as a potential producer but since the departure of Tommy Dreamer, there are some who believe Armstrong may instead step into the creative circle. Hunter Johnston and Eric Tompkins are currently heading the TNA creative.
One source noted James has a close relationship with Johnny Russo, the head writer for WWE NXT, so if James came on board, it would only be a positive for the ongoing NXT-TNA relationship.
A TNA source said the deal for James wasn't but described it as "99% there."
James exited WWE creative in March due to unhappiness with the position and the company.
