Ah, afternoon RAW...is there anything better? Ha!
I love those early shows, for sure.
Onto my questions;
1. Lyra turns on Bayley - Her in-ring isn't lacking, but Lyra did not seem to be connecting very well with the audience. Might as well try the heel route, I guess. Thoughts?
I didn’t see it coming but I do agree, she was kind of stuck in the mud in her role. Maybe they will get lucky and she will catch fire as a heel.
2. Street Profits title win - I'm all for it, and it's about time. If they are serious about rebuilding the tag division, I can't think of a better team to to build it around. Well deserved, and I hope they get a solid run with the titles, maybe even up till Wrestlemania. I also enjoyed seeing a tag title match in the main event slot, it was more than warranted. What say you?
It made sense for sure once Logan Paul got hurt. Bron Breakker isn’t there to be a tag champ, he has higher aspirations. It hurts Austin Theory so they had better be careful to make sure that they keep him strong. I don’t know how long the Profits will keep the belts but of course they are worthy champs.
As an aside, poor Austin Theory, he takes the fall yet again. I wonder what his position will be if the group disbands/he moves on.
Agreed.
3. Oba Femi/Jey Uso interaction - I really liked it and even though I'm calling Jey to win (somehow), Oba alluding to Roman Reigns left the door open (to me) for him to win. I specifically liked Oba's comment that Jey wasn't the one he actually cared about. It was a great verbal shot and knocked Jey down a peg.
A. I know you've said Oba doesn't need to be rushed into the title picture just yet, BUT, is there a world where you see them do it?
Any time they put him in the Title picture he will be worthy of it. But, I just don’t see them going in any direction for SummerSlam but Oba-Brock Lesnar.
B. I think we all expect to see Brock, but could it be Brock's interference backfires and Oba wins anyway, or perhaps a post match attack, he destroys the crown and leaves Oba laying ? (I don’t want to see Oba wearing that stupid thing anyway).
But if Brock attacks Oba then Oba has to fight him. I don’t see Oba working twice at SummerSlam but I guess they could go in that direction, have him beat Lesnar on night one and then lose to Roman, due to working two days in a row, on night two.
C. When Oba questioned which title he should go after, I saw that as an informal fan poll to gauge the reaction, and to the surprise of likely no one, the prospect of Oba/Reigns got the better reaction. You?
Yep, they wanted him to take on Roman more than Cody. I do too.
4. Rollins/Breakker - Nice sit down with Seth, he got to show good side of himself, even coming across as humble. It was well done. I think Breakker needs to win, but Seth said he wants to move on from the Vision. If Seth loses, is he still trapped in the " Vision Vortex " and do we see perhaps Seth & Joe Hendry align to continue the fight?
Bron needs to win, for sure but with SummerSlam coming, they may take the blow off to there. If a steel cage can’t get the job done, perhaps we see them fight inside Hell In A Cell.
