6/20 AEW COLLISION REPORT

AEW Collision was recorded after Dynamite at The Smart Financial Centre in Sugarland TX. . Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Nigel McGuinness.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and Jack Perry vs The Lethal Swirl (Jay Lethal, Brian Christian, and Lee Johnson)

Christian and Nick start the match and they run the ropes. Nick calls for a handshake and Christian flips him off and they start to run the ropes again, but the tag team siren has gone off and everyone is in the ring with the Bucks and Perry doing big double and triple team moves followed by dive, dives, and more dives. 

Perry covers Christian for two after the Bucks hit a double drop kick. The Swirl gets their turn to dominate with big moves as we go to picture in picture where Perry is the babyface in peril.

When we return to full screen, Perry is able to hit a comebacker lariat on Lethal to get the hot tag to Matt, who runs wild. Nick joins Matt and sets up Matt getting a series of Northern Lights Suplexes on Johnson into Christian into the corner. The Bucks get the Mmm Bop Drop for two, broken up by Lethal. The Bucks get stereo sharpshooters and Perry gets a snare trap on Lethel, but Johnson gets to the ropes to break the hold. 

Perry and Lethal tag in and throw hands. Lethal hits Lethal combination and calls for the Lethal injection, but the Bucks break it up. They hit a double team suplex on Lethal, After the rest of the Swirl take out the Bucks Lethal gets a double lethal injection on the Bucks. The Swirl gets a triple team move on Perry for two. Perry tries to fight  off the Swirl, and Lethal gets a back body drop on Perry to the entry ramp. The Bucks finally get into the ring and it’s everything brawling in and out of the ring. The Bucks get a Meltzer Driver on Johnson for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Young Bucks and Jack Perry

Lexi Nair is with Hikaru Shida and Shida says she is already in Survival of the Fittest, and everyone who tried to embarrass her has to fight to get in. And after the match, TBS will stand for The Best is Shida.

Mina Shirakama vs Kris Statlander - Survival of the Fittest qualifying match. 

Harley Cameron joins commentary.

They lock up and MIna gets a headlock and drags Kris down then a takedown with it. Kris rolls back for a one count out, and then Kris shoots Mina off into the ropes and Mina grabs the headlock again. Kris escapes and Mina grabs it again. Kris fights free and works over Mian in the corner. Mina reverses and gets a bulldog takedown. MIna is able to get a neck snap over the top rope and then a tornado over the top rope into the ring. 

Mina goes to the floor and Mina goes to the top[ Kris fights her there and then slams Mina shoulder first onto the apron and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, MIna and Kris are on the floor and throw hands. Mina hits a DDT and both women are down. They roll into the ring and Mina gets a series of uppercuts. They run the ropes and Mina hits La Mistica. Mina puts Kris on the top and gets a draping DDT for two. Mina and Kris trade kicks and shots until Kris gets a discus lariat. Mian dumps Kris to the floor and goes to the top. Mian hits a crossbody front he top onto Kris on the floor.

Kris is rolled into the ring and Mina goes to the top and hits a shotgun drop kick for two. MIna tries for the glorious driver, but Kris escapes. Kris hits a thrust kick and a blue thunder bomb for two. Mina escapes the pike drive for a rollup for two. Kris rolls up Mina for two. Mina gets another La Mistrica, but Kris rolls through for the pin and the win.

Winner and moving onto the Survival of the Fittest Match: Kris Statlander.

Mina and Kris shake hands and Harley Cameron joins them in the ring.

We get an ad from the Bang Bang Gang for Juice Robinson’s spay and netuer center for lost dogs. It’s a fun silly bit. 

In the back, Jack Perry talks about his time in Japan and how Zack Sabre Jr welcomed him and showed him around. He now asks for a match to test himself next Wednesday. 

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) w/MVP vs The Already in the Ring Warren Johnson and Zach Mason. 

We get to see how powerful the Hurt Syndicate is for about 3 minutes. Bobby hits the sp[ear and Shelton gets the pin and the win.

Winners: The Hurt Syndicate.

MVP grabs the mic and introduces his team, gives their bone fides and he says they are not interested in competing for the title, they are wanting to do what they do for money. They are friends or enemies with anyone, they are businessmen. If you want someone beat, you bring the money and they bring the pain.

We then go to Nigel McGuinness in the ring, who brings out Tommaso Ciampa. He then brings out Chris Jericho. Jericho says that Ciampa wants a serious version of Jericho if he was worthy, and Jericho says Ciampa is worthy. He has wanted to face him since he came to AEW. Jericho asked if Ciampa could determine which Jericho he got, but Jericho says it doesn’t matter since every version can kick his ass.

Ciampa says he’s wanted this version and at Beach Bash, he wants Jericho to bring his friends and family and we will find out if Jericho is who he says he is or if Ciampa is better than Jericho. Jericho says at Beach Break they can wrestle, but tonight we fight. Jericho and Ciampa brawl and on the floor, Ciampa gets a back kick low blow. Cimapa then slams Jericho’s head into the steel steps.  Jericho is busted open and Ciampa attacks the wounds.

Ciampa rolls Jericho into the ring and hits the running knee to take him out. Ciampa kisses Jericho on the cheek as he then stands over him in triumph. 

We then get a video package of how Pac has challenged Shota Umino at Forbidden Door. 

Dante Martin w/Christopher Daniels vs Mistico

They shake hands to start the match. They go quickly to headlocks and arm bars. They run the ropes and Mistico gets a flying cross body. Dante gets a back elbow, followed by Mistico getting one. Mistico misses a charge into Dante and Dante dives twice onto Mistico on the floor. Mistico is rolled into the ring. Mistico then dives onto Dante twice. Mistico rolls Dante into the ring and goes to the top. Dante meets him there and gets a super plex for one only and Mistico is holding his leg as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mistico hits a springboard coffin drop from the second rope and then hits a springboard cross body. Mistico gets a tijaris and Mistico hits a tornado over the top to the floor. Dante is rolled into the ring and Mistico covers for two. Dante and Mistico trade blows in the middle of the ring. Dante whips Mistico into the corner and they trade attacks. They kick each other down. 

As they get up, Mistico gets an insigiri from the apron and then a leg drop on Dante. Mistico goes to the top and goes for a moonsault into Dante’s knees/. Dante covers for two. Dante lays in blows and Mistoco gets a power slam for two. Mistico goes to the top and misses a springboard senton. Dante gets a power bomb for two. Dante goes to the top and Mistico kicks him and joins him there. They trade blows and Dante pushes him off. Mistico goes back to the top and hits a Spanish Fly for the pin and the win.

Winner; Mistico

A side note here, they don’t show the extended cheers for Mistico that go through his entire theme song. It was incredibly cool to see. 

In the back, The Demand is waiting and Ricochet says that Takeshita is scared of him and using the other drama to avoid him. Ricochet says if they were to meet right now, he would take Takshita’s title. Ricochet says that Matt Sydal is back, which is an obscure reference and when Matt remembers how to wrestle, he will give him some air time. 

Pac vs the Already In The Ring Jay Alexander

Jon Moxley joins commentary. 

Do you need a reminder that pac is incredibly awesome in the ring?  Well, this isn't it, but it is a decent squash match. Pac wins with the brutalizer.

Winner: Pac

Thunder Rosa says she hasn’t been around because she has been working in CMLL. She says she loves challenges, and is bringing someone to face Divine Dominion to take their tag team title. 

Adam Priest vs Zack Sabre Jr.

They start by working arm bars and Zack is able to work Adam down to the mat and then trade holds on the mat back and forth. Zack is able to snap Adam's arm after they have a Greco Roman knuckle lock. Adam is able to get in a few strikes and a cover. They move back to arm bars and Zack works the left arm of Adam. Adam forces Zack to the apron and they fight through the ropes until Zack gets an arm bar over the top rope as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Zack and Adam charge into each other in the middle of the ring. Adam lays in a series of blows in the corner as they get to their feet and then they throw hands. Adam hits a DDT for two. Adam grabs an ankle lock and slams Zack’s knee into the mat repeatedly. Zack is able to escape and gets a back elbow into a leg based twisting arm breaker. 

Zack goes back to work on Adam’s arm. Adam gets a chop block and tries for a half crab, and Zack kicks him off and makes it into a version of the Ring of Saturn and Adam had to tap out.

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr. 

We get a promo from a bloody Jericho in the back and he says he thanks Ciampa because he needed this, but Ciampa won’t thank him for what happens next. 

Athena vs Maya World - Owen Hart Tournament Semi Final

They lock up and Anthona forces them to the corner where she trips Maya. Maya grabs a waistlock and they trade headlocks. Athena gets a casadora takedown and Maya gets a shoulder tackle. Maya gets a tejaris, but Anthena cartwheels out of it. They trade quick takedowns and two counts. Athena ends the sequence with a super kick.

They go back and forth in the corner. Maya gets a tiger feint kick and a basement drop kick for one only. They move to the apron and trade blows. Athena ryan Maya into the turnbuckle and Maya gets a forearm shot into a dive. Athena is able to get a DDT on Maya as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Maya gets a superplex from the top and then drops Athena with an uppercut for a one count. Maya gets a tejaris and Athena lands on her feet. Maya gets a rollup and a stomp before going to the top. Maya hits a moonsault for two. Athena gets a rollup for one. Athena gets a sunset flip and then rolls up Maya for two. Athena gets a power bomb for two. 

Maya escapes a power bomb and gets a cutter for two. Maya gets a running knee, but Athena grabs her. Athena follows with a curb stomp for two. Maya dodges a leap from Athens and hits a bridging suplex followed by a second for two. They move to fighting on the apron and then the floor where Maya catches a super kick and slams Athena into the barricade and then pulls Athena onto the top of the barricade. Athena takes control and slams Maya into the top of the barricade.

Maya isn't able to get into the ring but Athewna breaks the count at 9 to drag her into the ring and starts screaming at Mayta. Maya starters to fire back in response to Athena’s ranting. Athena gets a German suplex and then a big strike in the corner. Athena hits the O Face and Maya kicks out at two. Maya gets a rollup for two and Athena argues with the ref. Maya is able to get a rollup when Athyena charges at her and holds on for the pin and the win.

Winner and moving on in the Owen Hart Tournament - Maya World

They hug after the match and we then see Mercedes Mone come out to the stage with the Owen Hart Belt from last year. Mone calls Mmaya in for a hug. As they have words, Athens hits a clothesline and she and Mone stomp down Maya.
