AIW DOCUMENTARY SCREENING IN NYC, CZW, GENE SNITSKY, BEAR BRONSON AND MORE

Gene Snitsky was in attendance for a stand up special taping for comedian Chanel Omari earlier this week at The Cutting Room in NYC.

Max Caster and Drew Gulak worked last night's Gotham Wrestling TV taping in West Nyack, NY.

Bear Bronson will be working tonight's Wrestling Open event in Worcester, MA, which will stream live on IWTV.net.  The official lineup:

Documentary Slowburn Shoot: An Indie Wrestling Story, about Ohio's Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) will screen in Brooklyn, NYC at Nitehawk Cinema on Monday 7/15 at 7PM. There will be a a Q&A with director Adam J. Wilde, Joey Janela, Adam Abdalla, Tracy Williams and more.  The promotion is something special.

Ben Mitchell sent word that CZW's 2026 Tournament of Death will expand to two nights this year.

A new book, The Words Pro Wrestlers Say: Semantics, Semiotics and Speech has been announced for an August release.  Promotional material for the book, by Douglas T. Root, notes, "This work examines the crucial intersection between the spoken word and athletic performance in professional wrestling. It provides examples and illustrations of the degree to which language has superseded the in-ring display, which historically took precedent. The author demonstrates that, once the term "sports entertainment" became synonymous with professional wrestling, the focus became much less about the sport itself and more about the spectacle. Arguably, the most popular and successful characters are those who have sharpened their microphone skills to such a high caliber that they have already worked the fans into a frenzy before the in-ring grappling ever takes place."
