If there was one band library you'd like to see a promotion acquire for ring music, what would it be?
There's tons of great bands, but I've always felt Faith No More's stuff would be great for theme songs.
How did ECW never get sued for all the theme song and music video music they used?
They were very under the radar before going to PPV, were very lucky and/or weren't worth suing.
What's an underrated feud that deserves more spotlight?
Rick Rude managed by Madusa and Paul Heyman vs. Ricky Steamboat in WCW.
I know you worked on the ECW DVDs so please explain something that drives me nuts - why are there no entrances except for The Sandman and New Jack?
I actually know exactly what happened here, as I worked on the line. There were several reasons. One, technology at the time did not allow for a way for the music to be stripped from the masters (Super VHS tapes), so Pioneer Home Video would have had to go out and acquire the rights for every single song, which would have been impossible if they wanted to make a profit. Second, the decision was made to cut entrances to put more wrestling action on the releases. In the case of New Jack and Sandman, they were able to license Natural Born Killaz and for Sandman, they inserted the Motorhead version of Enter Sandman that was recorded for the ECW theme song soundtrack.
If you could change one thing in pro wrestling right now, what would it be?
I'd wish for more time so I could attend more shows live these days - and I'd wish gas prices would drop because even driving to Philly at this point isn't even really cost effective anymore.
What was the first-ever wrestling pay-per-view you attended?
WCW Halloween Havoc 1992 in Philly, which oddly enough, Dave Scherer, Richard Trionfo and the legendary Jess McGrath also all attended, but none of us had met each other yet. The best match of the night was a fight in the balcony during Masahiro Chono vs. Rick Rude by the way. Sting vs. Jake Roberts was the official main event. It wasn't a great show but I am glad I saw Brian Pillman wrestle Rick Steamboat live.
What's the best thing you've ever gotten from pro wrestling?
I've had countless blessings and there are things I've accomplished but I'm not going to go all ego-centric here. The most important things would be my friendships and the ability to buy a home thanks to my work. From 1993 to today, I've been very lucky and very blessed.
