5/27 NJPW BEST OF SUPER JUNIOR RESULTS

1 - Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Taisei Nakahara

Matsumoto forces Nakahara to tap out to an ankle lock.

2 - Masatora Yasuda, Toru Yano and Valiente Jr. vs. Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa and Kosei Fujita

Jackson hits a lariat and a senton on Yasuda.    Jackson pins Yasuda.

3 - Tiger Mask, Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi and Nick Wayne vs. Gedo, Daiki Nagai, Robbie X and Titan

Wayne hits Wayne's World on Gedo and gets the pin.

BOSJ 33 - Block B Matches:

4 - Daisuke Sasaki vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Kanemaru forces Sasaki to tap out to a figure four leg lock.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru has 6 points.

Daisuke Sasaki has 6 points.

5 - Hyo vs. SHO

SHO pulls out all of his tricks.  Referee takes a bump.  SHO hits a low blow and applies a cross-arm breaker.   SHO hits Hyo's arm with the wrench severals times and re-applies the cross-arm breaker.    The referee recovers and sees Hyo tapping out.   SHO wins.

SHO has 8 points.

Hyo has 4 points.

6 - El Desperado vs. Jakob Austin Young

Desperado escapes Another One Bites the Dust and hits a Pinche Driver.    Desperado hits Pinche Loco.   Desperado pins Young.

El Desperado has 8 points.

Jakob Austin Young has 4 points.

7 - KUSHIDA vs. YOH

KUSHIDA pins YOH with Back to the Future

KUSHIDA has 4 points.

YOH has 6 points.

8 - Taiji Ishimori vs. Robbie Eagles

Eagles forces Ishimori to tap out to the Ron Miller Special.

Robbie Eagles has 6 points.

Taiji Ishimori has 6 points.

9 - A Block Match:   Jun Kasai vs. Francesco Akira

Akira comes to the ring with a fork in his mouth.  The referee takes the fork away.    Both men immediately fight to the floor.   Akira rams Kasai into the ring post.   Kasai is bleeding from the forehead.   They fight back to the floor.  Kasai grabs the fork from the announce desk.   The referee tries to stop Kasai.   Akira tries to attack Kasai but hits the referee instead.   Kasai stabs Akira in the head with the fork.  Kasai beats down Akira, who is bleeding like crazy.   Akira comes back with a Fireball to the face.   Akira goes to the top rope for an attack, but Kasai hits the ropes and Akira falls off the top rope.      Kasai hits a Pearl Harbor Splash.   Two count.   Referee takes another bump.   Kasai takes out his bamboo sticks.   Kasai hammers the sticks into Akira's head and drops him with a lariat.    Zane Jay tries to interfere, but Zane gets a head full of bamboo sticks too.     Akira recovers and stabs the fork into Kasai's head.   Kasai walks around the ring with the fork sticking out of his head.   

Akira hits Kasai with a chair and hits Fireball to the back of the head.   Two count.   Akira kicks him in the head and hits Crown Fall.     Akira pins Kasai.

Francesco Akira has 8 points.

Jun Kasai has 8 points.

Akira puts over Kasai as the Deathmatch King before the Shizuoka crowd but also puts himself over as how much he had to overcome.   

Good match.    Great performance by both men.    Akira should be one of the new signature faces in the Junior Division, along side El Desperado, Taiji Ishimori and DOUKI going forward.

We are past the halfway point in the tournament.    A Block Leader is Titan (10 points), followed by Master Wato, Francesco Akira and Jun Kasai (8 points).     B Block is lead by El Desperado and SHO (8 points), with five others at 6 points.
