AEW drew a sellout crowd of over 14,000 for AEW Double or Nothing at Louis Armstrong Stadium last night. The show was likely one of the largest gates in AEW history. The Stadium, which is part of the same complex as Arthur Ashe Stadium (which wasn't available due to ongoing renovations) was a loud, boisterous crowd all night, which was even more impressive when you learn that the open air stadium was freezing all night thanks to it being a cold, rainy Memorial Day weekend in NYC. The fact the crowd remained as hot as it did all night was a testament to how hard everyone on the show worked. Live, it was a hell of a show and easily the best top to bottom AEW show I've ever attended. It was one of the best shows of 2026, not just in NYC, but anywhere.
Tony Khan noted during the post-show media event that he was waiting to see the status of talents following the event before locking in matches for AEW Dynamite in Philly.
QT Marshall slipped from the top rope to the floor during the ending of the ten man tag. It appeared he slipped after water that was tossed at heels by The Rizzler and Big Justice caused him to lose his footing. Tony Khan noted during the scrum that Marshall was OK.
New AEW Champion MJF tweeted:
WERE YOU EXPECTING ME TO ACTUALLY LOSE MY HAIR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
MORONS!
BEAT THE LITTLE EMO TWINK WITH A HEADLOCK TAKEOVER!
3x WORLD CHAMPION AT 30 YOU FUCKING MARKS!!!!!!!!!
MJF and Mick Foley went back and forth during the pre-show. That's going to start rumors they will be wrestling, so we'll see if and when that actually happens.
There was a rumor online that the New York State Athletic Commision wouldn't allow fighting in the crowd. Well, The Young Bucks and The Dogs fought from the floor to the second level of the stadium and back down to the floor again, so that rumor wasn't true.
Team Ricochet in the baseball outfits was apparently a tribute to the classic 70s film The Warriors, which features the Furies, a gang that carries baseball bats.
Kyle Fletcher returned and laid out Konosuke Takeshita during the PPV.
Any blood on the show was legitimate and hardway as the New York State Athletic Commission doesn't allow blading.
Swerve Strickland's ring gear was a tribute to Michael Jackson in Thriller.
Kevin Knight turned heel and attacked Darby Allin at the end of the show. AEW tweeted:
EXCLUSIVE: Following his heinous attack on Darby Allin at #AEWDoN, AEW cameras attempt to get a word with @Jet2Flyy. pic.twitter.com/7DWMvmjDNp

AEW is already teasing the idea of Will Ospreay headlining All In: London when they return to Wembley this summer.
Tony Khan announced during the post-show scrum the promotion will soon be selling bracelets in support of Tanea "Rebel" Brooks, who has been diagnosed with ALS. Khan envisioned potentially raising money for ALS on the next "Fight for the Fallen" event.
There were CMLL representatives at the event.
Noelle Foley was in attendance, as was historian and author Keith Elliot Greenberg.
Chris Jericho paid tribute to Sabu after The Stadium Stampede.
Wardlow was backstage.
AEW had several merchandise stands set up at the event, two in the stadium and one outside. There was a lot of NYC-themed merchandise as well as a shirt for Stadium Stampede IV.
The line to get into the stadium was LOOOONG and that's understating it. We are told that Brody King actually went outside and was taking photos with fans waiting to get in, on his own.
There was also apparently a problem for fans leaving as the boardwalk between the stadium and Citifield, The NYC subway and the Long Island Railroad had been closed. That sounds like there was some sort of miscommunication between the stadium and the Parks Department.,which controls that boardwalk. I've seen people theorizing that AEW running late led to fans left stranded because public transportation shut down, but that's 100% untrue as the NYC subways don't shut down - they run 24/7.
Will Ospreay and AR Fox met with fans who paid for a VIP Experience at the PPV.
Ringside fans took home a special Double or Nothing chair.
Since he was not able to attend the show after being hospitalized, AEW officials from the top of the company went out of their way to reach out and make sure that Vladimir the Superfan was able to watch the PPV from his hospital bed. I want to personally thank everyone from AEW that reached out for their kindness, especially on an extremely busy week for all involved.
