Steve Maclin to Defend BRCW title Against Matt Riddle at Summer Smash 4 on August 16

Title match confirmed at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Florida following Riddle's win over Joe Coffey at BRCW Vegas Vacation

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Boca Raton Championship Wrestling (BRCW) has confirmed that reigning BRCW Heavyweight Champion Steve Maclin will defend the title against Matt Riddle at Summer Smash 4, scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026 at The Studio at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Florida.

Riddle secured the championship opportunity following his victory over Joe Coffey at BRCW Vegas Vacation, the promotion's WrestleMania-week event in Las Vegas. The win positioned Riddle as the next challenger to Maclin's title.

Bulletproof Steve Maclin currently holds the BRCW Heavyweight Championship. His most recent successful defense came against Matt Taven at BRCW Birthday Bash on March 1, 2026, at the VIP Ballroom at CBI in Boca Raton.

The match was made official during the Vegas Vacation event itself. Following the conclusion of the Riddle vs. Coffey contest, a video message from Maclin was played for the live audience on the venue's main screen. In the address, Maclin congratulated Riddle on his win, explained his absence from the event, and confirmed the title match for Summer Smash 4.

In the video, Maclin stated, in part:

"Kudos to you, man. Bravo. I'm sorry I can't be there to celebrate with you. I wish I could be there face to face, but as a man of honor, integrity, and structure, I don't lower myself to come to a city like Las Vegas."

"At Summer Smash, it is Matt Riddle versus Bulletproof Steve Maclin for the Boca Raton Heavyweight Championship."

The video was BRCW's first on-screen confirmation of the matchup. The promotion has since referenced the bout across its social channels.
