SMACKDOWN THOUGHTS

Just finished watching SD, decent show.

1.  Women’s Tag Match;  well worked, Fatal Influence taking the loss surprised me a bit.  Given, they were in there with the two top females in the company, so it’s no slight to lose.  But, with the post match involving Jade & Co. I think a DQ finish with them interfering would have been fine.  You?

I thought that too.  Given the interference, I would have actually had Fatal Influence get the pin, to heat the issue with Rhea’s team and Jade’s group.  I am with you there.  It would have been a good win for the newcomers and wouldn’t have hurt the vets at all.

2.  Cody challenging Sami to a match;  I liked that a lot.  Sami has been whining most weeks, and was doing it again thinking Cody had left.  Cody had enough and the match was on.  I like stuff like that because it makes sense.  Clean & simple.

Yep it was.  They have done a good, slow turn with Sami.  After the way he left Gunther to destroy Cody, he’s a heel now for sure.

3.  Hayes vs. Trick;  for my money, they can go back to that anytime they want.  Those two work really well together.  Setting up a triple threat with Saints, perhaps?  And that punch in the yap by Melo to Saints backstage looked great!

That was a great match and I love that they played off of the history between Trick and Melo.  I also like that Trick wanted the match when Yachty tried to get him out of it.  The fans love Trick and having him step up is part of the turn to babyface that they have to do with him.  It makes no sense to keep him as a heel.  The fans love him so let them cheer for him.

4.  Main Event;  the expected result for me, including the presence of Gunther at the end.  Sami continues his descent into heel territory.  Did his actions at the end finally make the leap, or is he going to be on the fence for awhile? Do you see him factoring into the title match in Italy?

They could keep it going but since he did the “stop and ponder helping” thing before he left, he’s a heel to me now.  As you said above, he was the one talking smack on Cody when he didn’t think Rhodes was around.  Then he gets the match and leaves him?  He’s a heel to me.  They could go either way with him in Italy but he surely will have a place in the mix after the turn.
