Just finished watching SD, so here goes:
1. Gunther/Keys main event: once again, happy to see Keys getting the spotlight. I’m glad they protected him in the loss, as the match seemed more like a vehicle to further his issues with Solo. I’m also glad he appears to be NOT joining up with Solo. I don’t want to see him in a faction. Thoughts?
I could see him helping out for Priest and R-Truth since they have a common interest in the MFTs but then? It should be a singles run.
2. Women’s Division: So much to chew on right now on SD. They’re absolutely loaded for bear with talent and storylines. Again, like with Keys, they’re putting the newer women in a great position to succeed. I think most of the women on the SD side are in good spots, maybe except for Giulia. You?
They are definitely loaded there, for sure. And, it’s nice to see younger talent get a push. You are correct on Guilia. Kiana James has gotten over a lot more than she has. And it’s been a home run with Fatal Influence so far.
3. Damian Priest/MFT feud: Where do you see this one going and how does Royce Keys fit in since Priest has stated he doesn’t trust him?
My take was that Priest wasn’t sure where Royce stood. After he tossed the chair at Solo in the main event, it looks like he could join Priest and Truth against the MFTs.
4. Carmelo Hayes: I think he needed that win more than Saints, and I’d he didn’t win it may have defined him down a little. I enjoyed Wade’s insight about how Hayes wore himself out with the open challenge and is now refreshed and rested. I thought that was a good way to justify his absence.
I agree. In that booking, Hayes definitely needed the win more than Saints did. I still think it’s stinks that Hayes missed out on appearing on WrestleMania, though I get why since Trick Williams is on the major ascent.
5. SNME package: looks like a stacked show, very impressive lineup. I usually don’t care much about these shows, but the 6 women tag is a great addition. Any match in particular stand out for you?
I like that Ethan Page is getting a shot on a big show. It’s a great opportunity for him to be on that stage.
