WWE ID Showcase
5/15/26 Worcester, MA
Day 2 of the Wrestivus gives us the WWE ID Showcase! Rich Palladino is announcing. Trevin Adams and Brother greatness are on commentary.
Match 1: Airica Demia vs Notorious Mimi
The winner of this match goes on to fight Laynie Luck for the WWE ID Women’s Championship later tonight. Mimi is all over Demia and trying to embarrass our manga main character. Mimi’s attitude change is in full swing as she has to do this level of violence twice tonight to walk out with the gold. But Mimi can’t stop smack talking and Demia finally rocks her with a right and rallies back. A dragon suplex almost does the job but Mimi is still in it. Mimi hits a gory bomb as a backpack SLAM. GROOOOOSSSSS OWWWW. A Muta Lock locks Demia up and forces her to tap
Mimi kicks Demia to the curb. She calls herself everything that a Champion should be and she’s coming for Laynie’s spot tonight.
This next match is a special challenge. If the winner beats Timothy Thatcher, they win a WWE ID contract. Steven Stetson comes through the curtain noooooooo! Love Doug runs in and throws flowers in his eyes and runs him out of the room! So who is fighting Thatcher?!? BOBBY CASALE! Normally, I’d be mad but Bobby is coming around with the Worcester crowd.
Match 2: Bobby Casale vs Timothy Thatcher
Let’s be honest. This is kind of a perfect matchup. Bobby is newer but he’s the perfect match to the technical skills of Thatcher. Both have great ground games but not afraid to stand and swing. Thatcher smiling when he twists Casale into painful spots…but Bobby clubs free. Thatcher is relentless though and just ties him up and throws knee after knee. Bobby is definitely getting a master class in this type of warfare. Bobby catches Thatcher and he loses his air. Hard slam face first into the apron! Bobby throwing kicks…Thatcher catches one into a leg lock! Bobby reverses it! Thatcher’s back up but his leg is clearly hurting. He chicken wings Bobby…throws hands and hits a belly to belly! Bobby catches him with a sleeper! He hits an Olympic slam! Bobby ramped up for the kill but Thatcher grabs the arms, backslides Bobby for the three! Good damn match and this was a hell of a test for Casale. He didn’t win but I’m sure the WWE ID player coach felt good about the grade he’s giving.
Match 3: Jariel Rivera & Jha’Quan McNair (w/ Mike Cunningham) vs It’s Gal vs Marcus Mathers
Gal gets too into having fun with Marcus that their opponents get the first shot in at the bell…but Marcus has on Gal glasses so he’s got the gym rat energy and they send Rivera and McNair out to Magic Mike to regroup. McNair is a damn specimen, Gal may have these bodybuilding medal but I wonder if he’d have won them if he had this competition. Luckily for Gal and Marcus, Rivera tags in and proves that he is still the worst person to have as a tag partner. Marcus gets caught up when Jha’Quan tags back in to get the momentum back but Gal stores up his specials on the apron and tags in with much gusto. And still…Jha’Quan survives that and gutwrenches Gal onto his back. Marcus helps out and they have Rivera set up for the kill…but Cunningham interferes. Marcus sent to the floor and Gal is left to get bowled over by his opponents for the win. not to be left out, Cunningham hits a leg lariat on Mathers when he comes to check on his partner.
Oh, these guys are called the Mog Squad. McNair on the mic. Apparently they are all better than us, as the greatest faction ever assembled. They don’t even need their fourth member, Jimmy House. They pump up Cunningham’s match later when he is clearly going to WIN the WWE Evolve championship.
Match 4: Fallyn Grey vs Valentina Rossi
Rossi bullies Fallyn for a lot of this. She taunts Grey a LOT through this. But it’s well earned….she is just dominating the Fallen Angel. A torture rack gives her the stretch and a Rack attack slams her down. Fallyn rallies back…a crucifix into a crossface…it’s deep but Rossi fights to the ropes. She’s just punt kicking Grey around and she drops her one last time with a Lost in the Sauce for the win. This was a beating.
Match 5: Sam Holloway vs Cappuccino Jones
Holloway feigns fear at Jones’ coffee cup. Turns out it was full of popcorn that blinded Sam and sent him to the floor. Jones gives chase but Sam sends him flying into the air and down into the apron. Owwwww. Holloway keeps the beating alive on the former ID champion. Jones trying to find a war back into this but Sam keeps smashing him down. Jones finally drops Sam with a dropkick after he gets popped up. He keeps the attack on, flipping out of a chokeslam at one point. Sam looks done after a basement palm strike rocks him. Kick out! Jones flies in but eats a sitout bomb for two! Jones escapes but Sam Is waiting with that huge chokeslam For another near fall. Sam takes him to the top for the kill….Jones fights free…sunset flip bomb! Jones hits a Frogsplash! Sam stays down for the three! This was a blast!
Match 6: Laynie Luck(c) vs Notorious Mimi (for the WWE ID Women’s Championship)
Mimi already went through a fight tonight so she’s at a disadvantage for sure…Mimi definitely wants to prove her haters wrong….but Worcester seems conflicted. Mimi IS one of ours but she has been very mean lately. Laynie is no slouch tho. She’s gone through wars for this belt. Luck dominates early. Mimi sent to the floor but she recovers and posts Laynie. Hard chops in the front row. She rolls Laynie back in; you can’t win the belt on the outside. Laynie tries to snatch Mimi into a STF but Mimi escapes and boots her down. She grinds the champ’s back and shoulders. Luck starts to rally back and clotheslines Mimi to the floor. Mimi catches Laynie with a variation on the devils kiss into the buckles. Mimi with an X factor facebuster into the Muta lock! Laynie gets the rope! They trade kicks. Mimi goes for the gory bomb again but Laynie reverses and hits one of her own. She locks in the STF again and this time Mimi has to tap out. Good match, not QUITE the result Worcester may have wanted but good stuff regardless.
Main Event: Aaron Rourke(c) vs Mike Cunningham (for the WWE Evolve Championship)
Cunningham didn’t come out here with the rest of the Mog Squad but I can’t help but think they are lurking here SOMEWHERE. Cunningham just preening at the dime piece but the champ brings him back to earth, stealing his stripper pants at one point. Worcester very much loves seeing Rourke put enough of a beating on Cunningham that he considers abandoning the fight and heading back…but you don’t win championships if you run away. Cunningham slides back and finally starts to take control of things, landing big slams and leg drops in Rourke. He tries to put Aaron to sleep. Rourke escapes and back drops him into the top buckle. But he’s wobbling and the dime piece walks back into another sleeper. Rourke with an iconoclasym! Flying code breaker! Rourke with a driven knee and a Michanoku style neckbreaker! Cunningham manages to kick out! A series of fast reversals! Cunningham lands a discus elbow and a knee for a two count! Mike to the top but Aaron pulls him down into a knee strike! Split legged moonsault! Cunningham kicks out! “This is my home!” Yells Rourke. Cunningham rakes the eyes and hits a flipping neckbreaker. The champ kicks out and “Tragic” Mike is big mad. Back and forth shots bring Aaron back to life but a double crossbody crashes and burns them both out. And here comes the Mog Squad. Rourke tries to get them out of there but McNair gets a shot in and Cunningham hits a famouser! Aaron kicks out! McNair grabs the Evolve belt! Marcus Mathers and It’s Gal run out to stop this! They battle to the back and Mike is distraught! And Rourke is back up…discus boot! Molly go round! Aaron Rourke gets the three and retains the WWE Evolve Championship! Very good match!
Rourke on the mic addresses his next opponent, the number one contender Tristan Angels. Angels called him a transitional champion. Rourke says that his reign is the result of hard work and he will expose Tristan as a footnote in his history of defenses. See you tomorrow with a trifecta of shows here at the White Eagle!
