SAINTS VERSUS CARDONA: LIVE ONGOING WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT

Your announcers are Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore.

We begin with a graphic In Memoriam for Ted Turner.

We take a look at the Fatu/Roman match with a video package.

Jacob Fatu makes his way to the ring.

Fatu says tomorrow night, at Backlash, he's not fighting Roman Reigns for that title.  He says he is taking that title.  Since they were young, all everyone saw in Roman was the future.  Since they were young, all they saw in him was nothing.  They want to talk nice to me and tell me to fall back and fall in line.  Hell nah.  He saw this before with Roman.  History repeats itself.  Everyone talking to him aren't trying to protect him, they are trying to protect Roman.

When Roman was born, he was born with opportunity.  Fatu says he was born with doubt . . . 

Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso interrupt and make their way to the ring.

Jimmy says they are not out here to change his mind.  What they say won't change what happens tomorrow.  He is proud of Fatu being in the main event of Backlash against Roman.  He respects Fatu because he knows where he is coming from.  Part of hiim is rooting for him, but the other part is looking out for Fatu.  They know how important this W is for you.  Have you sat still and wondered what happens if you lose tomorrow?

Jey says Fatu didn't think about that.  You pop off the rails like Jey does.  Tomorrow night, the Tribal Chief gonna beat that ass.  That ain't the worst damn part.  The worst part is that he will break you down.  Emotionally.  Physically.  He gonna do all that to you in front of your family.

Jimmy says tomorrow, you family will be front row watching this.  If you lose.  Jey says WHEN YOU LOSE.  Jimmy says your wife and children will have to acknowledge Roman.

Jimmy and Jey raise their fingers.

Jacob says hell nah.  He says he is going to break it down for them.  Fatu says he is not losing.  He says he can't lose.  He says you are trying to lace him up about losses to Roman?  You never beat Roman.  Jimmy, you saying if he loses.  There is no losing or acknowledging.  This is not just the main event, this is for his family.  Fatu says if there is one thing his family will see him do, it is becoming the new WWE Champion.

Is Roman ready to die for his family?

Fatu tells them one more thing.  Tomorrow, if you two think about interfering in the match, he swears to God he will burn this whole f***ing family tree down.

We take a look back at Cody Rhodes last week against Ricky Saints and what Gunther did after the match.

Cathy Kelley is with Nick Aldis.  She brings up that Gunther is scheduled to be here.

Nick says what Gunther did was unacceptable.  Gunther is part of Raw.

Ricky Saints interrupts and he says they should be talking to him.  He says he had a great debut and now he is facing QB4.

Matt Cardona comes out to address Rookie Saints.  He is not here to pass the torch but run with it.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Nick tells Fatu to get ready for tomorrow.

Royce Keys stops to talk to Fatu and he says he heard what his cousins said.  He says fear is not an option.  When was Jacob Fatu afraid of anyone breathing the same air.  They take what they want.

Keys continues to walk and he sees Solo Sikoa.  He tells Solo to be careful what he says.

Solo says you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.  There is a place in his family for Royce, but time is running out.

We see a video from Chelsea Green and she wanted to wish Tiffany luck even though she cannot be there.

Match Number One:  Tiffany Stratton versus Kiana James for the Women's United States Championship

They lock up and James pushes Tiffany away and Tiffany pushes back.  James with a side head lock and Tiffany with a revesal.  Tiffany with a slingshot head lock take down.  Tiffany with a clotheline.  Tiffany with an Irish whip and James floats over.  Tiffany sends James to the apron and James with a kick and she wrings the leg into the ring post.  They return to the ring and James with a suplex.  KIana with a kick to the hamstring and she works on the knee.  James with a punch and she chokes Tiffany in the ropes.  James sends Tiffany into the turnbuckles and then hits a springboard knee to the leg tied up in the ropes.

James gets a near fall.  James with an Irish whip but Tiffany with an elbow.  James with kicks to Tiffany to regain control of the match.  James with a KneeDT and she gets a near fall.  Tiffany with forearms but James with a kick to get her back to the mat.  James with kicks to the hamstring.  James with a punch but Tiffany with chops and she goes for a drop kick but James holds on to the ropes.  James with a single leg crab.  Tiffany crawls to the ropes and she gets there.  James takes her time releasing the hold and James kicks Tiffany to the floor in front of Giulia.    James wants to know why Giulia didn't do anything and they return to the ring.  Tiffany with chops and forearms.

Tiffany with clotheslines and a handspring back elbow and she hits a handspring cutter and a drop kick for a near fall.  James with a kick to the midsection but she misses a running boot.  James with a thrust kick and a handspring into a round kick.  James with a Death Valley Driver for a near fall.  James with punches to Tiffany.  James sends Tiffany into the turnbuckles and connects with shoulders.  James misses a shoulder in the corner when Tiffany moves and James hits the ring post.  Tiffany gets James up and Giulia gets on the apron.  James escapes and has a rollup but the ref is with GIulia.

Tiffany knocks GIulia off the apron and connects with a forearm and then hits Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the three count.

Winner:  Tiffany Stratton (retains championship)

Afer the match, Giulia and James have some words.

We go to the viewing room for Gingerbread Man and Sami Zayn shows up.

Sami wants to know how is this happening.

Nick says people need closure and he asks Sami to show respect for the proceedings.

R Truth shows p and he has a rose for Sami's loss.  He says he sees the family resemblance.  Truth says he was very proud of Sami and talked about him all the time. Truth tells Sami to be strong.

We go to commercial.

Cathy is with Rhea, Charlotte, and Alexa.  She asks about the match.

Rhea says they wanted to make an impression and they did.  They chose the wrong ones to attack.  That is why she is excited for tonight.  Charlotte says they can get their hands on them together.  Charlotte says she is trying to be a team player.  Rhea asks if Charlotte is trying to fight her on everything.  Rhea asks if there is going to be a problem and Charlotte asks her too.  

Alexa says they are both big and strong.  They have tagged before and they can do it again.  Rhea says she will be fine if Charlotte is.  Charlotte says she is fine.

Damian Priest is in the locker room and R Truth talks about Sami Zayn.

Priest says his mind isn't there.  He wants to get payback on Talla for what happened last week.  Truth says they have to handle it so let's go.

Priest says Truth isn't 100 percent so he needs Truth to stay back since they will go after him.

Truth says they are the tag champions.

Priest says he is proud they are champions, but he doesn't want anything to happen to Truth.  Priest tells Truth to trust him.

Match Number Two:  Talla Tonga versus Damian Priest

Priest with an elbow before the match starts and then he sends Talla to the floor.  Priest with a forearm off the apron and then he connects with forearms.  Talla with a knee but Priest with a thrust kick.  Talla catches Priest on a cyclone kick and Talla sends Priest into the ring post.  Talla with a punch and he sends Priest into the apron.  Talla with a slam onto the announce table.  While Talla distracts the referee in the ring, Solo sends Priest into the announce table.  Talla with a hot shot onto the ringside barrier.  Talla sends Priest back into the ring.  Talla with an uppercut and an Irish whip.  Talla with a splash and he hits a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall.  Talla works on the neck.  

Priest with forearms and he kicks Talla.  Solo grabs the leg and Talla with a shoulder tackle and elbow drop.  Priest with a forearm and Talla with an uppercut.  Talla misses an elbow drop when Priest moves.  Priest avoids a forearm into the corner and Priest with punches and a kick.  Talla with a punch but he misses a running boot.  Priest with a cyclone kick to Talla in the ropes and another one.  Priest with a third cyclone kick.  Talla stops him on the fourth attempt.  Priest boxes the ears and he kicks Talla and hits a clothesline.  Talla goes to the floor and Priest follows and coms off the ring steps with a double sledge.  Priest takes care of Solo.

Priest sends Talla back into the ring and he goes up top.  Priest with a flying clothesline for a near fall.  The straps come down and he sets for South of Heaven.

Tama Tonga comes out and Solo drops Priest on the top rope.  Talla with a discus clothesline for a near fall.  Solo says something to Tama and . . . 

R Truth cmes out and he takes care of Tama and Solo.  Tama holds Truth and Priest stops Solo from using the Samoan Spike.  Priest tells Truth to go to the back and Talla hits Priest from behind.  Talla with a choke slam for the three count.

Winner:  Talla Tonga

After the match, Truth checks on Priest and Tama, Solo, and Talla surround them.

Royce Keys' music plays and he makes his way to the ring as Solo, Tama, and Talla leave.

Solo thinks Keys is with them so he does nothing.

We take a look at what happened with Danhausen, Miz, and Kit Wilson last week.

Danhausen tries to get people to sign as his partner.

Kit and Miz show up and Miz says Danhausen doesn't have a partner.  Kit calls Danhausen toxic.  Kit tells Miz to take their time and destroy Danhausen at Backlash.

Kit says the only person toxic enough to team with Danhausen is Danhausen.

Danhausen likes that idea.

Paul Heyman walks in the back as we go to commercial.

Nick hands Paul the contract to review.

Gunther enters the room and Paul hands Gunther the contract.

Nick tells Gunther what he did last week is unacceptable and he hopes it doesn't have to happen again.  He welcomes Gunther to Smackdown.

Gunther asks if that is how you want to talk to your future WWE Champion?

Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring and Gunther says this is his time.

Gunther says he does not do business like this.

Paul says he will handle this.

Cody asks Jacksonville what do they want to talk about.  Last week, Gunther showed that he is next in line.  He asks Cody to come out and say it to him.

Paul Heyman interrupts and he comes out with the contract.

Paul says there is a problem and he is here to try to fix it.  He has a contract for a title match . . . 

Cody interrupts and he asks Paul if he is the advocate for Gunther.  He says if everyone is here, they can do the match now.

Paul says he owes Gunther a favor.  Paul says this is the favor he owes Gunther.  Paul says he is an enormous fan of Cody Rhodes.  That is why he wanted Cody to know that he needs a contract for the Undisputed title match.  Paul asks if he can enter the ring and Cody invites him in.

Paul says the contract is not for Jacksonville.  The contract is not for the United States of America.  The match with Gunther, if you accept, will be at Clash in Italy.  If you want a fight with Gunther, that is where it has to happen.  Paul says his favor was to get the match, if you want him to sign the contract, you have to do it yourself.

Cody stops Paul as he is leaving the ring.  Cody says he will decline to be civil.  Brock retired on you.  Roman wants nothing to do with you.  CM Punk has discarded you.  We are in this ring and he asks if it is because you are out of options.

Paul tells Cody he is not the one running out of options.  Paul says sooner or later, they all need the wise man.

Gunther comes through the crowd but Cody stops him.  Gunther with a sleeper and Cody hits Gunther with the mic.  Gunther reapplies the sleeper and then he snap mares Gunther to the floor.

Cody asks if you want everyone to roll out the red carpet and kiss your ass.  Cody knocks Gunther off the apron a few times.  He asks Gunther if he sweats him because of what he did to Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles.  He is not hard to find.

Tama tells Solo that he is a problem to be dealt with.  Solo says he is a solution and a perfect fit for the family.  Tama says Royce Keys came in here and embarrassed them in front of everyone.  That doesn't sit right with him.  He will show Keys what he is all about.

Solo tells Talla if Tama wants to go out on his own, he can find out on his own.

Match Number Three:  Matt Cardona versus Ricky Saints

They lock up and Matt backs Ricky into the corner.  Ricky pie faces Matt on the break.  Ricky with waist lock into a side head lock.  Ricky with a shoulder tackle and pose.  Matt with a shoulder tackle of his own.  Matt blocks a kick and hits a clothesline.  Matt with forearms across the bridge of the nose.  Ricky sends Matt into the turnbuckles and he kicks Matt.  Ricky with a chop and Irish whip followed by a forearm.  Matt with a flap jack and a clothesline into the corner.  Ricky goes to the floor to avoid the Woo Woo Kick.  Matt with a drop kick through the ropes and Ricky attacks the ringside barrier.  Ricky has had enough but he decides to return to ringside.  Matt with forearms and Ricky with a kick and clothesline.  Ricky with punches.  

Ricky chokes Matt in the ropes.  Matt with a forearm and Ricky wtih a forearm and knee drop for a near fall.  Ricky chokes Matt in the ropes and hits a splash to the back.  Ricky misses an elbow drop and Matt with a forearm.  Ricky holds the ropes to avoid a drop kick from Matt.  Ricky wtih an elbow drop for a near fall.  Ricky with a reverse chin lock.  Ricky with a knee to the midsection and a knee drop.  Ricky with an Irish whip and forearm.  Ricky goes to the ropes for Old School and he probably hit it as we came back from commercial because Ricky is posing.  Mattt with a forearm and Matt gets his knees up.  Matt with a face plant and forearms in the corner.  Matt sets for the Woo Woo Boot and connects for a near fall.  

Ricky avoids Unprettier with a forearm.  Ricky with a twisting reverse DDT for a near fall.  Ricky sets for Roshambo but Matt with a back drop.  Ricky goes to the floor to avoid a Rough Ryder.  Ricky drops Matt on the top rope.  Matt with a Rough Ryder for a near fall.  Ricky with a double thrust to the throat followed by a tornado DDT and Roshambo for the three count.

Winner:  Ricky Saints

Sami is in the room with the casket and he says this is a joke.  We see that Sami is talking to Johnny Gargano.  Sami asks if Johnny Wrestling is still there.  Candice shows up and she says that Johnny did not move.

Sami asks Rey what is he doing here.  Rey says he is paying tribute to Gingerbread Man.  Sami says they are all supporting him.

Rey tells Sami this is not the place and Sami agrees.

Paige and Brie walk in the back and a ladder falls.

We go to commercial.
