7 - Shingo Takagi and Yota Tsuji vs. Callum Newman and Jake Lee
Tsuji hits a Gene Blaster on Newman and gets the pin.
Yota Tsuji earns a IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match at Dominion on June 14.
Tsuji makes sense as he deserves a rematch. However, Newman still needs the title and he should not be losing it this early. Tsuji is a credible challenger for either top title in New Japan. However, New Japan lacks a major babyface draw, on the level of Hiroshi Tanahashi or Kazuchika Okada. In the G1 Climax, it will be important for the new babyfaces like Shota Umino, Ryohei Oiwa, or Yuya Uemura to step up their game and inspire fans to rally behind them, to take down Newman and the United Empire.
Best of the Super Jr. 33 begins on May 14.
