Seth Rollins shows up next to Roman. Seth tells Roman he is in his way.
Seth walks to the ring and . . .
Bron Breakker attacks Seth from behind and Bron punches Seth and then he presses Seth over his head and hot shots him onto the ringside barrier.
Officials, referees, and security come out to hold their hands out and that only makes Bron angrier. He throws security away and sends Seth into the ring steps.
Bron sends Seth into the ring and Bron is yelled at by Pearce.
Bron runs past Pearce and spears Seth.
Michael Cole brings up the Judgment Day and we see what Finn told Roxanne, in private.
Dom, Liv, and JD are in room.
Liv says Stephanie is injured and it is time to talk about what happened last week with Finn.
Perez says she doesn't know what Finn is thinking. She says he is delusional.
Liv says JD will take care of Finn tonight. She asks Roxanne why was Finn there and she has to worry about Roxanne. Liv complains about having to watch it on Netflix.
Roxanne says she is loyal to the group.
Liv says her and Raquel are going to be the next tag champions. She tells Roxanne not to keep any secrets.
Roxanne agrees.
Match Number One: Finn Balor versus JD McDonagh
They lock up and JD with a wrist lock. Finn tries for a reversal but JD sends Finn to the mat. Finn with a side head lock and Finn holds on when JD tries to send him off the ropes. JD with near falls and a head scissors. Finn with an arm drag into an arm bar. JD backs Finn into the ropes and Dom grabs Finn by the leg to allow JD to send Finn into the turnbuckl.es JD poses on the turnbuckles and Finn goes to another corner. JD with a chop and Irish whip but Finn floats over and chops JD many times. JD with a kick and he misses a chop. Finn with a chop. Finn gets a near fall. Finn with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. JD with a drop toe hold and a leg drop for a near fall. JD kicks Finn in the back of the leg. JD with a springboard knee drop to the leg in the ropes. JD with a twisting leg whip into the mat and an elbow drop to the leg.
JD with a sunset flip but Finn rolls through and drop kicks JD because you don't sunset flip Finn Balor. Finn sends JD to the floor and Dom trips Finn when the referee is not looking. JD sends Finn to the floor.
Roxanne Perez makes her way to ringside.
Finn struggles to get back to his feet and Finn powers up at nine. JD with an elbow drop off the turnbuckles for a near fall. JD with a reverse atomic drop. JD with a knee to the midsection but he misses an elbow drop. Finn with a chop but JD with a hard Irish whip. JD with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. JD chokes Finn in the ropes. Dom with a forearm and then he poses. JD with a knee and Liv and Raquel come out as well to talk to Roxanne.
Finn with a GTR and both men are down. Finn with punches and a back body drop. Finn with a kick. Finn with sling blade. Dom gets on the apron and Finn punches Dom. JD with a rollup for a near fall. JD with Spanish Fly for a near fall. Finn goes to the apron and he connects with a shoulder and kick. Finn goes up top and Raquel distracts the referee and Dom crotches Finn. The referee sends Dom to the back.
JD goes up top and he goes for a moonsault but Finn gets his knees up. Finn gets a near fall. Finn with sling blade. Finn sets for the drop kick but Liv ges on the apron and she tosses the hammer to Perez. Finn with a running drop kick and Perez hits Finn with the hammer. JD with a head butt and he gets the three count.
Winner: JD McDonagh
Jackie Redmond goes to Seth to ask about Backlash.
Seth says he will be fine by Saturday. He told the kid last week, you take your chances, you better finish the job. Seth says he ain't dead yet.
Seth walks away.
Byron is with Grande Americano and the Americanos.
Byron asks about Grande's mask match.and tonight's match.
Rayo talks about the new Americanos. Bravo does not have nice things to say about them.
Grande says they didn't understand what you signed up for. He can't do anything in Mexico, but he is able to do anything in the US.
We are told that there is a 2 hour Countdown show and the first hour will air on ESPN2.
We take a look at Roman and Fatu with a video package because someone isn't there yet.
Michael Cole talks about the Tongan Death Grip.
Bron is in the locker room with Austin and Logan and they joke about Seth.
Paul shows up and asks if Seth is still breathing.
Logan says Joe will not be breathing when he gets done with him. He says he will hospitalize him.
Paul says that is why Logan is not fighting Joe. Bron almost got himself suspended. Brock retired on him. You will be arrested if you do what you want to Joe. Paul says Joe is facing Austin Theory tonight.
Match Number Two: Penta and Je'Von Evans versus Ethan Page and Rusev
Rusev and Evans start things off and Rusev runs Evans into the corner and connects with shoulders. Rusev with a forearm and Irish whip but Evans with a boot and punches. Rusev with a back elbow and Page tags in. Page punches Evans. Evans with chops and a punch. Evans with a forearm to Rusev on the apron. Evans with a suplex and he struts. Evans flips away from Page and Penta tags in. Evans with a drop kick and Penta with a headstand hesitation kick. Penta and Evans with a double super kick and then Evans with a rana. Penta sends Rusev to the apron. Penta counters Twisted Grin with a Penta Driver for a near fall. Rusev argues with the referee and Penta goes after Rusev. Page attacks Penta.
Page rakes the eyes. Rusev tags in. Rusev kicks Penta and punches him in the corner. Rusev with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Penta with chops to Rusev. Rusev keeps Penta from making the tag and Penta with more forearms. Rusev with a hard Irish whip. Page tags in and kicks Penta. Page with an elbow to the back of the head followed by kicks. Rusev tags back in and connects with a European uppercut. Rusev sends Penta to the floor and he follows. Penta with a springboard forearm and Rusev goes to the floor. Rusev pulls Evans off the apron to prevent the tag. Penta with a forearm to Page and he tries to make the tag but Evans is still down. Page tags in and he hits Penta from behind.
Page with a forearm. Rusev charges at Evans and Evans with a leap frog and Rusev hits the steps. Penta escapes Twisted Grin and Evans tags in. Evans with clotheslines followed by a matrix and clothesline. Evans with a German suplex and a plancha onto Rusev. Evans with a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Evans misses a moonsault and rolls through. Page with a kick and a boot to blockd a rebound kick. Evans with a rebound kick and Penta with tornado DDT for a near fall. Rusev goes over the top rope to the floor and Evans hits a suicide dive. Evans goes up top for a frog splash through th table but Page sends Evans to the floor.
Penta with a kick and Page pulls out the ring skirt to stop Penta. Rusev with a uranage onto the announce table. Page with a fisherman's suplex for the three count.
Winners: Ethan Page and Rusev
We go to commercial.
Byron is with JD McDonagh and Dom Mysterio.
JD stops Byron and he says he is tired of the mentor narrative with him and Finn. The best thing Finn ever did was introduce him to Dom and the rest of Judgment Day. They don't need Finn Balor. They kicked out the dead wood and will rule WWE.
Byron asks about Roxanne and if the group is united.
Dom says JD beat Finn Balro tonight. He is still the Mega Champion. Liv is the world champion. Roxanne helped JD tonight. Roxanne and Raquel will become the new tag champions.
Adam Pearce is in the ring and he says when he was a coach in NXT, he loved seeing one of the blue chippers sign their contract with Raw or Smackdown.
We have a video package for Sol Ruca.
Sol makes her way to the ring.
Pearce congratulates her and gives her the contract.
Sol says it will feel so damn good when she signs this and officially becomes a part of Raw
Becky Lynch interrupts and makes her way to the ring.
Becky says that this was her scheduled time and Pearce asks who agreed to it. Becky says that Pearce set a match for her and Iyo Jannetty, but she still won.
Sol asks Becky if she is done.
Becky says she is not done.
Sol says not everything is about Becky.
Becky says the sooner you learn it, the better . . . it is.
Sol says she knows everything that Becky has accomplished. She didn't expect to see that you are everything that people say about you. She says you are a rude, big headed bitch. She says it is not just her saying it.
Becky asks Pearce if she is going to let Sol talk to her like this.
Sol signs her contract
Becky asks Sol who is she.
Sol says she if Becky ever interrupts her again, she will not only kick her ass but smash her soul.
Becky hits Sol and Pearce yells at Beckiy and they do it in the corner so Becky can bend over to take a Sol Snatcher.
We take a look at what happened on Smackdown with Jacob Fatu.
Jimmy and Jey Uso walk in the back and Jackie stops them to ask about the contract signing.
Jimmy says it is a big night and they won't miss it for nothing. They love Jacob, but he has to know how Roman does business with the title on the line.
Jackie asks if there is any conflict.
Jey says this is family business. Roman knows how to handle himself. They are here to make sure nothing pops off with Jacob and Roman. He tells Jacob he is in the deep end and he tells Jacob to realize who he is dealing with.
Joe Hendry has a song before his match with Austin Theory.
Logan says that Joe cannot fire him. Logan says he is the heart and soul of the WWE.
Joe says he was getting to the part of the song that is the apology.
Match Number Three: Joe Hendry versus Austin Theory
Theory charges to the ring and Joe punches him. Joe sends Theory to the floor. Logan gets on the apron and distracts Joe to allow Theory to hit him from behind. Theory sends Joe face first into the mat. Theory with a back breaker. Joe with a European uppercut and chops. Theory with a hard Irish whip. Theory punches Joe. Theory sets for a suplex and hits it. Joe counters a suplex with one of his own. Joe with punches and a clothesline. Joe with a clothesline itnot eh corner and he catches Theory. Joe with a fallaway slam and then he remembers to turn around to do the MEME turn.
Logan attacks Joe from behind and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Joe Hendry (by disqualification)
Joe punches Logan but Theory hits Joe and then Logan punches Joe.
The Street Profits make their way to the ring and they go after Logan and Theory. Ford with a super kick to Logan and Ford with a jumping kick. Dawkins with Silencer. They set for the Doomsday Device but Bron shows up and he sends Ford over the top rope with a suplex and then hits a clothesline and German suplex on Dawkins.
Seth Rollins comes out and he pulls Bron to the floor and Seth with punches. Seth sends Bron into the ring steps and then punches him in the ring. Seth with a clothesline to Bron.
Ford with a flip dive over the ring post onto Logan and Theory. Bron with a spear.
We are told that Bron and Seth will be on the first hour of Backlash.
Jackie is with Judgment Day.
She asks about their focus.
Liv says you saw what they have done and they are going for all the gold.
Raquel says Brie and Paige's nostalgia tour was good for one night. She wants them to come to Raw.
Lyra and Bayley show up and Bayley asks if anyone can do things on their own. Lyra says they won't forget what you do.
Liv says families help each other win.
We take a look at what happened on Smackdown with Sami Zayn and Trick Williams.
This match will be on the first hour of Backlash.
Oba gets a mic and he struts to the center of the ring.
He says the time has come for the Oba Femi Open Challenge.
Tozawa realizes he made a mistake and Otis takes the spot.
Match Number Four: Oba Femi versus Otis
They lock up and Oba pushes Otis away. Otis with a shoulder tackle and Oba does not move. Oba with a shoulder tackle and Oba does not move. Otis removes the shirt and he sends Oba off the ropes and then Oba sends Otis off the ropes. Oba with a flying corkscrew uppercut. Oba with a toss power bomb. Oba puts Otis on the turnbuckles and Oba goes under for the sit out power bomb for teh three count.
Winner: Oba Femi
Seth tells a referee he is fine and then he blames Montez for the spear.
Seth says he doesn't trust himself. They are in the same fight against the Vision. Sometimes they come together. He tells them if they stay out of his way, he will stay out of their way.
Roman Reigns is talking to someone off camera about the contract.
Jacob Fatu is in the building.
Ethan Page comes out for his shot at the Interstitial Championship.
Ethan complains about the crowd reaction. He put his celebration suit on to get his standing ovation. Ethan says he deserves one because he pinned the current champion. Ethan says he is undefeated on Raw. He pinned Penta's pal, Je'Von Evans. He says he has forced himself into the title picture. Soon, he will be holding said championship. It is the token of excellence in WWE. It is the launching pad for everyone in this company who went straight to the top.
We take a look at a face to face meeting between Iyo Sky and Asuka.
Iyo tells Asuka she has avoided this fight for years because you are what you say you are. You are her senpai and mentor. She says she looked up to Asuka. She loved Asuka. Despite everything you have done to her, she has the ultimate respect for her. She says she never wanted to have this fight and never wanted it to come to this. She says Asuka has change.
Asuka says nothing has changed.
Iyo says she has to fight Asuka.
Asuka says Iyo continues her disrespect. The Iyo she taught is not in front of her. Who are you? This Iyo is her biggest disappointment. She is done with Iyo at Backlash and she will cut her out of her life for good.
Iyo says she is ready for Asuka.
Asuka spits blue mist in Iyo's face.
Cole asks Corey about what is going on in AAA.
Jackie is with the Classico Clan.
She asks about what happened during the contract signing and tonight's match.
Classico says the no contact rule only applies in Mexico so all bets are off. His friends decided to help him out because they learned from his friend Chad Gable. We will find out there is only one El Grande Americano.
Match Number Five: El Grande Americano Classico, Julio Americano, and Bruto Americano versus El Grande Americano, Rayo American, and Bravo Americano
They all fight in the ring until Rayo, Bravo, and Grande are sent to the floor.
Bruto sends Bravo into the air and connects with a forearm. Julio tags in and hit a double back body drop. Rayo tags in and Julio with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Julio with a German suplex. Classico tags in after a Bruto Ball into the corner. Classico with a hip toss and wrist lock. Rayo with a chop and Grande tags in. They lock up and Classioc with a tae down but they hold onto the collar and elbow tie up. Grande with a wirst lock and Classico with a slap. Rayo tags in and trips Classico. Grande with a baseball slide to Classico. We have a standoff on the floor. Classico with a chop to Rayo and Julio tags in.
Bravo tags in and Julio with forearms. Julio with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Bravo and Rayo. He suplexes Rayo into Bravo. Julio goes shoulder first into the ring post. Grade tags in and he hits a drop kick in the corner and he poses. Julio drops Grande on the top rope while he avoids using his left arm. Grande with a reverse chin lock. Julio with a back body drop and Rayo with a forearm. Bravo tags in and tney make a wish. Bravo gets a near fall. Bravo with punches and Julio with chop. Rayo knocks Bruto off the apron and Rayo with a revese chin lock. Grande and Classico tag in and Classico catches Brayvo off the turnbuckles and hits an exploder. Classico with a side Russian leg sweep. Classico with a reverse Olympic Slam. Bravo and Rayo block Chaos Theory and Classico with a double German suplex. Classico with a cannonball to Grande and a shoulder tackle to Rayo.
Julio with a suplex and Bruto with a cannonball. Grande with a flying head but and Bravo with a frog splash for a near fall. Rayo with a kick and seated splash to BRuto and Julio power bombs Rayo onto the apron. Classico with Chaos heory and he goes up top for a diving head butt on Bravo for the three count.
Winners: Bruto Americano, Julio Americano, and El Grande Americano Classico
Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.
Adam Pearce, table, chairs, microphones, and contract are in the ring.
Pearce reminds them of the rules of a contract signing match.
Roman has to acknowledgify the crowd before he will sign anything.
Roman asks Jacob if he hears that. That isn't just love, that is respect. He knows where Fatu came from. He was watching from afar. Roman says he has been here for over twelve years while you have been grinding for twelve years. He was holding the door open for Solo. If Solo brought you in, that means he brought you in. There will be respect for him. He says with that respect, there's gotta be a code and honor system. They need to be able to hang their hat on that.
The Tongan Death Grip. You disrespect him with something you save for desperate measures? You use it when you are down eight to one in a bar fight at 3 AM. You don't do that to him.
Fatu says you got it all wrong and don't understand. Fatu says he is desperate and his back is against the wall and the world is against him. He has to take Roman out, take the title, and take everything that he has. Fatu says he is going to put a choke hold on this game and squeeze out ever dollar like this company has done for decades. He is not going to slow down, he is going to move forrd and never go back to where he came from. He says he is desperate. He is desperate to do anything for his household.
Roman stops Fatu and he signs the contract.
You talk about your household. He says he has been grinding for more than twelve years for multiple families. You talk about seven children, he has been doing it for 170 children. This company wants to do business with him. He told Brock this is all his. We are equals in the family, but in this ring, you are beneath him.
Fatu tries for the Tongan Death Grip and Roman sends Fatu into the turnbuckles and then he throws a chair at him. Roman blocks the Tongan Death Grip and Roman with punches. Fatu goes for the Tongan Death Grip and Roman escapes. Roman goes for the Superman punch and Fatu applies the Tongan Death Grip and choke slams him onto the table.
Fatu signs the contract
