Welcome to the PWInsider.com TNA Thursday Night Impact report from Syracuse, NY>
The episode opened with Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary, immediately setting the stage for Jeff Hardy vs. Vincent, with Matt Hardy and Dutch barred from ringside after last week’s chaos. Jeff didn’t wait for the bell, jumping Vincent right away and taking early control with a snapmare and dropkick to the back. Vincent bailed to the floor, but Hardy followed with a body block off the apron. Back inside, Hardy went high-risk early, only to get yanked down and crotched on the top rope. That shifted momentum, as Vincent targeted Hardy’s back both on the floor and in the ring. Hardy fired back with a jawbreaker, and after a mid-ring collision, he strung together his signature offense. A Twist of Fate was initially blocked, but Hardy eventually connected after countering Vincent’s Sliced Bread attempt. Lights out and Broken Matt Hardy appeared, then disappeared. When the lights returned again, Jeff capitalized with a Swanton Bomb for the pin.
Gia Miller caught up with Frankie Kazarian backstage, who promised to win the first-ever Walk With Elijah Guitar Strap Match.
Mustafa Ali then defended the TNA International Championship against Adam Brooks. Brooks looked good. Ali grounded things early with a side headlock before snapping off a rana. Brooks responded with power, catching Ali with a boot and later a backdrop that sent Ali regrouping to the floor. The action spilled outside, where Ali showcased his agility, evading Brooks before planting him with a DDT on the floor. Back in the ring, Ali hit his rolling neckbreaker, but Brooks stayed competitive, countering a powerbomb and landing an enzuiguri. Brooks nearly scored the pin but a missed corner dropkick. Ali capitalized with a superkick and followed with a 450 splash to retain.
Eric Young appeared in a brief segment to challenge EC3 to a No DQ match for next week.
The Knockouts tag followed, marking the return of Rosemary & Allie (once again alive!) & Mara Sadé vs. Tessa Blanchard & Mila Moore & Victoria Crawford. Rosemary came out aggressively, tossing Crawford with an exploder and clearing the ring for Sadé to hit a crossbody to the floor. The heels slowed things down, isolating Sadé and later Rosemary with frequent tags and double-team offense. Blanchard targeted Rosemary’s knee, while Moore and Crawford took advantage of distractions to choke her out in the corner. The hot tag to Allie changed the pace, as she ran wild with clotheslines and a Death Valley Driver. Chaos broke out with all six women involved, but Allie ultimately hit a Codebreaker on Moore to secure the win at around nine minutes .
The TNA Injury Report: Mike Santana and Rich Swann are cleared but not competing, while Trey Miguel remained sidelined with his knee injury.
After a commercial, Santino Marella then appeared via Zoom, announcing his reinstatement after being cleared of wrongdoing thanks to a "star witness". He proceeded to run down multiple matches for next week, including title bouts and revealed the return of Indi Hartwell, the aforementioned star witness.
Hartwell appeared live in the arena and declared she was back and was going to get Arianna Grace whether she has the title or not. They later had a backstage segment where Daria welcomed her back but reminded her that her contract was coming up.
Mr. Elegance vs. Home Town Man next. HTM briefly gained momentum via an airplane spin into a cutter and a top-rope crossbody. However, outside interference and distractions from The Elegance Brand shifted the tide. Mr. Elegance finished things with a DDT for the pin.
Leon Slater then addressed the crowd, hyping his impending record-breaking X-Division title date on 5/15 and calling out Cedric Alexander. Alexander and The System attacked Slater, only for Moose to make the save, powerbombing multiple opponents and clearing the ring.
The main event saw Frankie Kazarian vs. Elijah in the “Walk With Elijah Guitar Strap Match.” This was far and away the best thing on the show in my opinion. The match started backstage, with both men immediately using the environment. Kazarian rubbed sanitizer in Elijah’s eyes and slamming his injured shoulder into doors. Elijah responded by launching Kazarian into crates and a loading bay, and even crotching him. They brawled their way into the arena, with Kazarian tumbling down the ramp before the action finally settled in the ring. Once inside, the strap came into play as both men attempted to touch all four corners. Momentum swung repeatedly, with each man getting close before being cut off. The fight spilled back outside, where they used the strap as a weapon, whipping each other and sending one another into the ring post. Back inside, Elijah nearly won after touching three corners while carrying Kazarian, but couldn’t complete the fourth. Kazarian countered with a backstabber and tried his own run, but got tangled in the strap. Elijah broke free, delivered a tombstone piledriver, then smashed a guitar over Kazarian’s head before finally touching the fourth corner to win.
