WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Valiant wrestled what was advertised as his final match over the weekend in Lancaster, South Carolina for the NAWA promotion's Boogie's Last Dance event.
Valiant, 83, teamed with Magnet Man & Moonshine Express to defeat VSP & Deon Johnson in an eight man tag team bout.
Valiant debuted in 1964 after being trained by Verne Gagne. Over the course of his career, he was a main eventer in the WWWF as part of The Valiant Brothers, battled Jerry Lawler in Memphis, had a memorable feud with Paul Jones in Jim Crockett Promotions and has been a mainstay on independent promotions in the South. Valiant still operates a training center in Shawsville, Virginia which has produced Hangman Adam Page and others. Valiant had an official retirement match back at WrestleReunion 1 in January 2005, teaming with Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka, but returned to the ring a year later. He last wrestled before this past weekend in 2023.
Valiant is not done making appearances, however, as he's slated for this Sunday's Memphis Wrestling TV taping as well as additional appearances this summer, including TMart Promotions' The Gathering in Charlotte, NC.
