SILAS MASON TALKS NWA POWERRR PREMIERE ON COMET TV

NWA WORLDS CHAMP SILAS MASON READY TO CARRY NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE INTO NEW TV ERA

NWA POWERRR debuts on Comet TV this Friday, May 1, with a special 10PM ET primetime premiere followed the next day with an all-new episode at 4PM ET. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason joined Busted Open Radio to discuss this one-two punch marking the National Wrestling Alliance’s historic return to broadcast television for the first time in 30 years. 

“Brother, can you put on the pyramids? Can you put on Stonehenge? Can you put on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? No., but the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship is a piece of history you can literally walk around with,” Mason told cohosts Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer when asked whether, as champion, he thinks about the NWA title’s iconic lineage.

“Terry Funk, Lou Thesz, Orville Brown, Harley Race…Every single time I walk out there, it ain’t just me walking out there, it’s all those guys,” Mason stated. 

“The current World Champion of a different company, in WWE, he  came down because he knew before he had any other World Championship, he had to have his name in that history book and have his name recognized along that before anything else,” continued Mason, referencing former NWA Worlds Champion Cody Rhodes. “That’s what this championship means.”

To listeners of SirusXM’s No. 1 ranked pro wrestling show, LaGreca designated Mason “the face of the franchise” as NWA POWERRR enters a new broadcast television era May 1 on Comet TV. It’s a responsibility “The Thrillbilly” embraces as NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

“I’m fully aware of the pressure and expectations that come with that, and I’m fully prepared. I have all those guys behind me,” he said of the greats who came before. 

“You don’t get to the top of the mountain, you don’t get to the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, without being on that level,” Mason concluded. “If people don’t believe I’m on that level yet, just tune in…on Comet, Saturdays at 4PM and this Friday at 10PM.” 

NWA POWERRR debuts on Comet TV this Friday, May 1, at 10PM ET. Comet airs a second, all-new episode Saturday, May 2, at 4PM ET / 2PM CT / 4PM PT.  Future episodes air every Saturday at 4PM ET / 2PM CT / 4PM PT.
