THE AEW DYNASTY TIP SHEET

By Mike Johnson, Cory Strode & Richard Trionfo on 2026-04-12 08:41:00

AEW Champion MJF vs. Kenny Omega.

Cory: There is a big part of me that wants Omega to win and hold the title for a match with Ospreay at All In this summer, MJF as champion has worked well for the company. There are a lot of challengers that work with him as champion, and they wouldn’t have him beat Hangman Page in a way that Page can’t challenge for the title ever again to end his reign quickly. Looks like The Devil beats The God this time.

Mike:  MJF has given the company some momentum on television lately.  I don't think this is the time to mess with that.  I expect MJF to win and we get a big rematch in NYC next month.

Richard:  I think with the next PPV in New York, I would let MJF retain the title.  This should be a good match and the people in the building and watching on Worldwide Broadcast will get 30 to 40 minutes to enjoy the festivities.  I hope there is no outside interference, but this is professional wrestling so there is a greater likelihood of distractiference the higher we get on the card.

AEW Tag Team Champions FTR vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage.

Cory: Copeland and Christian are closer to the end than the start of their career, and having them as Tag Team Champions works for both the story, and as a way for them to have one last great run on top. FTR have had the titles for a while, and they have been unbeatable for a while. It’s time for them to chase.

Mike: Title change here.

Richard: They are in Canada (even if it is the Pacific Coast and not Ontario), this could be the time for a title change. It is time to let the youngsters get a chance on top. Will this lead to Bucks vs E&C at Double or Nothing?

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay.

Cory: Ospreay will be a champion this year, but I don’t think putting one of the secondary titles on him works. He should be saved for the World Title at All In, although I can see him getting his revenge for Mox “putting him out of action”. There is also the fact this is his first major match back.  However, Ospreay has lost matches before that everyone felt were a lock for him to win. In my mind it’s 51% Mox and 49% Ospreay, so I am going to go with Mox winning, but I don’t feel super strong about it.

Mike: I can see Ospreay getting the win here.

Richard: We have four months until London but after the Reservoir Dogs garage scene from Dynamite, I give the title to Ospreay. That means that Moxley will retain in a match that will see blood, Will dropped on his neck, and Blackpool Denim Riders interference.

AEW Women's Champion Thekla vs. Jamie Hayter.

Cory: Hayter is a tag team wrestler now. This is a space filler as they figure out who Thekla should have her next major feud with. Thekla retains.

Mike: Thekla is a franchise player for the company.  I don't see a title change here.

Richard: This should be a good match but I don't see Thekla losing. I just don't want her to do the spider walk if I pick her to lose.

Andrade el Idolo vs. Darby Allin.

Cory: They have been hinting that Andrade isn’t 100% on board with beating down Darby in recent weeks. Darby is also back in the “he gets his ass beat for most of the match and pulls out a fluke victory at the end” mode, so that is what I see here. Darby wins and the fracture between Andrade and Don Callis continues.

Mike: I think Cory nailed this.

Richard: Since Andrade has nothing on the line in this match and Darby has a future world title match, we will see the usual 15 to 20 minute match featuring Darby where he will get his ass kicked for the first 5 minutes, then he will recover for 2 to 3 minutes, then Darby will get his ass kicked for the next 7 minutes. Andrade will forget that he NEEDS TO PIN DARBY TO WIN so Darby is able to fully recover despite looking like the T-1000 after Sarah Connor shots him with the shotgun and then get the win.

Marina Shafir vs. Alex Windsor.

Cory: As I said about Jamie Hayter, Alex is a tag team wrestler, and she will be a solid opponent to further the build for Shafir. Shafir wins.

Mike: Alex puts up a good fight but Marina chokes her out.

Richard: This is on the Zero Hour Countdown Tailgate Where is this AiringPalooza feed. Flip the coin and . . . it lands on the side. Marina wins because her last name is first alphabetically.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Rush vs. All TBA - Casino Gauntlet match for the TNT Title

Cory: To me, at least, this will be a battle between Ciampa and Ricochet and the rest will just be there to lend to the spectacle. Either one of them will be a solid heel for people to chase, but I am going to give the edge to Ciampa, as it feels like they want to repeat his NXT story with Silvey (the silver TNT belt).

Mike: I'd like to see a surpise Mark Briscoe return and win.

Richard: I will make the same prediction I did for the National title Gauntlet Match. If the first two people in the match are not going to end the match before the third person comes out, I don't care. SInce this will go 18 to 20 minutes with 13 or more of the 21 people who are supposed to be in the match. NEXT.

The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita) (with Don Callis)

Cory: The Bucks are going to win this to further the break between Okada and Takeshita, and with Kyle Fletcher out with an injury, the story of Fletcher being pulled back and forth by them is done. The Bucks win and whoever takes the pin is attacked by the other so we can finally start the Okada/Takeshita feud.

Mike: It makes more sense for the Bucks to win for all the reasons Cory pointed out.

Richard: The winner of this match should be the number one contenders for the tag titles. Okada and Takeshita were arguing on Wednesday night, so why should Sunday be any different? Okada does something that pisses off Takeshita, Okada calls Takeshita a bitch, and then Takeshita hits Okada and walks away. The Bucks will hesitate because of their history with Okada, but remember that YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO WIN MATCHES and they will get the victory.

Chris Jericho vs. Ricochet

Cory: Jericho is not losing his first match back. Sorry Ricochet.

Mike: I actually would like to see Jericho lose here.  It would be more of a surprise and would be a sign he's going to do the right thing for the company.

Richard: After the promise of Slater vs Ricochet in Vegas, Ricochet gets to wrestle Chris Jericho. They are in Canada and Jericho hasn't hit the 'wasn't he supposed to go to WWE' threshold, Jericho wins.
