The following was announced:
Feature Film Set to Bring the Bold Life of WWE’s Most Unforgettable Stylist to the Silver Screen
Los Angeles, CA — April 2, 2026 — The Masters of Wrestling has officially announced the development of a movie based on Rico Costantino and his life inside and outside the squared circle. Rico and The Master Emir will be writing and producing Rico's life story with a title to be announced at a later date
Rico quickly stood out in his WWE debut with his over-the-top and fashion-obsessed persona. The movie will be vibrant, edgy, and emotionally charged as it will be inspired by the life and career of the former WWE superstar Rico—best known as the flamboyant “Stylist to the Superstars.”
Blending the gritty realism of prestige sports dramas such as American Gladiators with the spectacle of sports entertainment of the World Wrestling Entertainment, the film will chronicle Rico’s unconventional journey—from disciplined beginnings in law enforcement and competitive fitness to the high-octane world of WWE, where he redefined what it meant to stand out.
Audiences will be taken inside the early 2000s WWE locker room, reliving unforgettable moments alongside superstars like Billy Gunn, Chuck Palumbo, and Rikishi—while witnessing Rico’s rise as both a manager and in-ring competitor. The film will also revisit the cultural buzz surrounding the infamous 2002 televised wedding storyline that pushed boundaries and sparked conversation across the wrestling world.
The movie won’t shy away from the pressures behind the curtain. It will explore the physical toll of the business, the challenge of portraying a polarizing character in a hyper-masculine industry, and the emotional cost of living life both in and out of the spotlight
“My life has been filled with struggle, action, adventure, and disappointments, but with help from the good Lord, ultimately an inspiration. This movie proves to audiences that, what the mind can conceive the heart can achieve,” said Rico Costantino.
“This movie will be a jolt of inspiration that professional wrestlers, or anyone in life need to get to the next level,” said The Master Emir.
Visually, the film will contrast the bright, theatrical WWE arenas with the quieter, more introspective moments of Rico’s personal life.
Rico's background includes being a contestant on American Gladiators and becoming its champion from the 1990-1991 season. He then changed career paths into the world of professional wrestling/sports entertainment, which included Ohio Valley Wrestling (1999-2002), World Wrestling Entertainment (March 21, 2001-February 1, 2005) as The Stylist of Billy and Chuck on the Smackdown brand, became a WWE tag team champion with Rikishi at Judgment Day 2002, moved to the Raw brand to manage 3-Minute Warning (Rosey and Jamal), got an upset victory by pinning Ric Flair, and drafted to Smackdown where he once again won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Charlie Haas.
Rico then wrestled for All Japan Wrestling in 2005 and teamed up with Bull Buchanan to win the All Asia Tag Team Championship. They vacated the titles when Rico retired in July 2005.
Rico made a few appearances post retirement in 2012 for Future Stars of Wrestling and in 2024 for All Elite Wrestling as the manager for MxM Collection.
Other career moves for Rico include his attendance at the Northwestern Military and Naval Academy, his being in a Hollywood movie, working in law enforcement, and as a private investigator.
