Reports out of Mexico over the last several days indicate that AAA Hall of Famer and one of the all-time greatest babyfaces in Mexico, Konnan, was hospitalized and had his leg amputated.
There has been no official announcement and Konnan has not commented on the reports but the general belief within the pro wrestling industry is that the report is accurate.
Konnan's career took him primarly through AAA, ECW, WCW although he did work many additional companies including the WWF where he was the original planned performer to portray what later became Max Moon. The highlight of his career was absolutely his 1990s run in AAA where he was a magnificent babyface and an massive crossover mainstream star in that country. He headlined the first TripleMania event among many other milestone moments for the promotion. After WWE acquired the Lucha promotion last year, Konnan has appeared as an announcer on a number of their broadcasts.
